There were once two teenagers. They were two complete strangers. Their names were Isabelle and Bradley.
Isabelle was a very sweet, immaculate, good looking and very smart girl. She was 16 years old and she grew up in the outskirts of a big city near a forest that almost nobody noticed. Isabelle was an adopted child. Her parents died in a car accident when she was about a week old. They were coming back from a birthday party and she was left at her aunt's house. Her aunt was too ill to take care of her. Isabelle had no other siblings, hence her aunt had no other option but to give her up for adoption. One month later, Isabelle got adopted by a very wonderful woman called Neina.
Bradley was one of the 'cool' guys at school. He was very popular, he was good looking and he was a bit of a show off. He was a very great guy overall because his personality outshined everything negative about him. Everyone loved him. Bradley was 17 years old and he grew up on the other side of the big city with his parents in a mansion. They were a very well known family and they were also very nice people in general.
Isabelle and Bradley went to the same school, Dory High School. They didn't know each other very well...or you could just say that they were complete strangers. They knew each other's names and that's all. The only time when they had ever spoken to each other was when they accidently bumped into each other when they were both getting late for class.
So one afternoon, they were both in the school computer labs. They sit on the opposite sides of the room with a few other students. The principle makes an announcement that there will be a photography competition and the people who would like to enter can see him in his office. They both take a liking to this idea and both log off and stand up simultaneously. They looked at each other and carriy on walking until they both get half way to the principle's office. Bradley breaks the silence and asks Isabelle, "So are you entering the competition as well?" with a polite smile on his face.
"Yes I am. I'm really into photography and I love taking photos. I'm the type of girl who likes 'magical' and fictional stuff. What are your ideas for the competition?"
"Well, I'm not quite sure, My parents want me to enter something different other than something sporty for a change. I thought this would make me discover more about myself. I really don't know how this is going to help, I just don't want my mom to keep yelling at me for not doing something different for a change." He chuckled.
"Hahaha! Well good luck with photography! I must say, I'm pretty good competition material myself! Look, we're here," as they approached the door.
"After you," as Bradley opened the door for her.
On a late Tuesday afternoon, Isabelle and Bradley decided to both go to the forest where Isabelle grew up. Bradley wanted her to show him some photography tricks and ideas. Isabelle wanted to go to the forest because she had never been there before since she was not allowed to go in there alone. As they met up, they went inside straight away and walked along a path. After half an hour the path seemed endless, but they hadn't really noticed because of how interested they were in the conversation they were having about their different lives. After a while, they came across an old shabby looking house. They decided to see if anyone lived there. They could maybe take pictures of an old broken down house.
As soon as they entered, they got lifted up into the air violently by what looked like an elf. The elf was very short, he had a green hat, a red shirt and bright green shorts with brown leather shoes. He wore glasses and has yellow/brown eyes with wrinkled pink skin. He looked so angry that he could've almost killed them with his stare. He then shouted, "Who are you? Who do you think you are to come and randomly open somebody's house whenever you want? This is not your property! Do people nowadays even have a little bit of respect? Now I have to kill you. I can't let you escape and tell people that you've just seen an elf and that they actually exist. I'm sorry you young precious couple, but you just shouldn't have barged in."
"We won't tell anybody, we swear!" shouted Isabelle.
"That's what they all say. I can't let you go missy. You see these shoes I'm wearing? These belonged to the last person that found me here. I worked him until death. He tried to escape once and I managed ro catch him by jumping on him and taking out his eyes. Now, if you guys have any last words before I work you to death, SAY IT RIGHT NOW!"
"Please, is there anything we could do to escape? To go back home and just be safe?"
"Yes, there is one thing just about nobody has managed to do...THE THREE CHALLENGES. Challenge number 1- you have to defeat the dragon in my garden of a palace and come out alive. 2- You need to make it rain by finding the key and 3- Find a fairy within an hour. If you cannot complete these three challenges in less than 5 hours, you're my slave until you find yourself being dead. You're only two helpless children, I doubt you will be able to do it."
"We agree," Bradley says and looks at Isabelle reassuringly. "We can do it."
"Okay, but I have to say that the challeges will have to start in the next 5 minutes according to the rules and they will be much harder because it is now night. Fairies come out at dawn, so it will be extremely hard finding them. Oh yes, and the only rule to the game is that you can never say I GIVE UP."
"Let's do it," Isabelle said shakely.
"You may begin," the elf said with a sly laugh. "The dragon's at the back."
They walked to the back of the elf's house and saw the dragon. It was dark purple and was about 200 times the size of themselves. As soon as the dragon saw them, it went straight for both of them. Bradley managed to cling onto a scale on the dragon's head and grabbed Isabelle's hand. Isabelle then had an idea that the dragon would be defeated if they could manage to stab both of it's eyes. Isabelle still had her camera with her and in a split second, smashed both eyes with her camera. The dragon went astray and they both fell off it's head and landed on a hay stack near the back door. Before the dragon hit them with it's tale, Isabelle still managed to take a picture and then they ran out of the doorr.
The elf was shocked when they saw the two of them come through the back door without a scratch, but with eye goo. The elf was indeed shocked and told them to do the second challenge, to make the rain come and find the key. The elf then told them to go outside and figure out how to do it.
They went outside and had no idea on how to do the task. They decided on looking for a key. Eventually, Bradley found the key at a fountain. It was no ordinary key. It was a key in the shape of a rain drop. He dropped it into the fountain and made a wish while Isabelle watched in silence. It started drizzling and later it started pounding with droplets. They went inside, soaked with water. They both started getting worried about their families and they thought about what they would say when they arrived home so late at night.
The third task had to now be done. The elf took them into the forest and made them go into a certain direction to go and look for fairies. After half an hour, they came up with a conversation of how they used to think that fairies gave them money whenever they lost a tooth. They suddenly realised that one of them would have to lose a tooth in order to get a fairy. So, like a gentleman, Bradley decided to lose a tooth. Isabelle had to knock it out with a stone. Bradley pretended to go to sleep on the forest floor and after a couple of minutes, a fairy appeared. Isabelle came out from behind a tree and quickly grabbed the fairy. They jogged back to the elf's house and showed him the fairy. He got so angry that he eventually exploded.
The two teenagers walked back to Isabelle's house holding hands in the late afternoon as if nothing had ever happened.....
The end :)
