The moon wanted to punish human beings for their many excesses and for the horrible crimes they commit against one another and against nature.  So the moon decided to show its dark side and hide its bright side, hoping that people would act with reason again and restrain themselves.  It was a lunar eclipse.  But imagine the moon's surprise!  Millions of people came out of their homes to enjoy watching the moon's dark side.
