Epilogue, Cooper opened the door on what was left of the old farmhouse and walked out he looked down at Sam the dog and his trusted friend. He stroked her head and sighed, tears formed in his eyes as he thought back to the night that had just passed. Six dam good soldiers entered that farmhouse and only one came out.

Chapter One/ two years later

Cooper sat up sweat pouring from him. He looked across at Sam who had lifted her head she licked his hand as though she understood what he was going through. He sighed and smiled at her “its OK girl just another dream” Sam licked his hand again and laid her head back down. Cooper sighed and closed his eyes. He could not believe that it had been a year already. Just then his phone rang he quietly growled to himself and reached over and picked it up “yes” he said “yeah dad its me” Cooper rolled his eyes as he heard his son's voice on the other end “Harry what do you want” Harry sighed and took a deep breath “well its like this im stuck in the middle of Christ knows where because Jenny and I had a row and she has fucked off” Cooper again rolled his eyes “so in other words you want me to get my arise out of this warm bed and come and get you right” he heard his son cough and followed by gagging Cooper sighed again “OK how much have you drunk” “not much I just feel a bit sick that's all so any ways can you come and get me” Cooper looked at Sam who by now was wide awake and stretching. Cooper smiled at her “yeah fine so can you at least give me some sort of direction” Harry sighed and looked around “some woods loads of trees “ Cooper again sighed “you are still in England aren't you” he heard Harry sigh again “yes dad of course iam” “good then how far are you away from say the nearest town” Harry tutted “I should I bloody know” Cooper could feel himself getting angry “right im going to call Jenny I might get more scene from her stay where you are and ill call you back” Cooper heard the phone click and sighed as he knew his son had just hung up on him. He looked at Sam who by now was bored with the whole thing and was licking her paws. He dieled Jenny's number and waited. “hello” Cooper smiled as he heard her voice he “hi Jen its Cooper Harry's father he just called me the silly twat is lost do you know where you were” he heard Jenny sigh “yes Cooper we were in lovers lane” Cooper again smiled as he remembered that was where he used to take Emma Harry's mum but that was before the divorce. “OK cheers Jen and im sure you to will work it out” he heard Jenny sigh again “OK speak to you later bye” Cooper quickly dieled Harry's number and told him to wait then he hung up the phone grabbed his clothes put them on. He looked at Sam “come on girl want to go for a ride” Sam wagged her tail and jumped off the bed Cooper grabbed his keys and walked out of the door.

Harry sighed as he stood by the road waiting for his dad, it was then he heard a strange noise he looked around but saw know one. He jumped up and down to keep warm although he didn't really feel cold. Then he heard it again this time it sounded nearer. He looked at his watch midnight the sky was clear and the moon was full. Just then he heard a rustling in the trees “come on dad where are you” he said to himself now feeling very nervous. He lit up a cigarette and watched the trees closely. Just then he saw a big black shape looming in the bushes he took a deep breath and was about to go and investigate when his dad's car turned up he breathed a sigh of releaf and walked over Copper rolled his window down and glared at him “OK get in” Harry did as he was told and sat next to Sam he stroked her hair as Cooper turned on the engine it was then he saw something out of the corner of his eye. Cooper turned of the engine and opened the door “dad what are you doing” Cooper waved at his son then slowly got out he turned to Harry “stay in the car with Sam do not get out got it” Harry opened his mouth to protest but thought better of it. Cooper opened his glove box and pulled out a long thin knife” Harry sighed and held Sam who by now was feeling a little agitated . Cooper could feel his heart beating fast he held the knife tightly to him as he walked over to the bushes. Just then something jumped out at him but to his releaf it was a black cat. Cooper smiled and patted the cat “well where did you come from then” He looked the cat over and noticed it had a strange cut on its neck “well now my beauty have you been in the wars” the cat looked at him then rubbed its face against his hand. Cooper sighed and stroked the cat “im sorry but I cant take you with me” he put the cat down and walked to wards the car he turned around but the cat was gone. He sighed slipped the knife back into the glove box and got into the car Harry looked at him “dad are you OK” Cooper sighed “yeah for a minute then I thought” Harry looked at him “you thought they had come back didn't you” Cooper nodded then started the car “come on lets go home you have to go to your mothers tomorrow and we wont tell her about this OK” Harry nodded and they drove off.

Chapter Two/ The trip

Cooper switched on the computer and stared at the screen you have two new messages he sighed and opened his in box just then he saw something that caught his eye urgent must read please. Cooper opened the message and smiled to himself “hey Cooper just thought I would write and tell you how iam I miss you a lot Scotland has not been the same without you please come soon as we have so much to catch up on love Christie PS no sightings as of yet.” Cooper smiled again and typed a message. Hi Christie miss you to don't know if I will be coming back to Scotland as to many memories need to move on but would love to see you again talk soon Coup. He sighed as he pressed the send button and watched as it went off. “why don't you just go and see her dad” Cooper looked round to see his son looking at him “hey have you just read my message” Harry nodded “yeah so why don't you go and see her” Cooper shook his head “I cant it feels weird that she is the Sargent's daughter any way let alone the whole werewolf thing as well” Harry sighed and sat down “dad a lot has happened in two years she really likes you its so over with you and mum and I think its about time you left those ghosts to rest don't you” Cooper stared at him “ look what happened that night I will never forget I lost good men and I don't know if I can live through that again” Harry bit his lip “ah well we have a problem then” Cooper looked at him “why” Harry sighed and sat down “im going camping with a few of my mates and it happens to be in Scotland” Cooper glared at him “your fucking kidding” Harry looked at him “no and before you say anything you cant stop me from going cause im 17” Cooper sighed “after everything I told you all those men that died and you still want to go” Harry again sighed “dad that was two years ago you said yourself that all the werewolves were killed so where is the danger” Cooper looked at him “the danger is that I could be wrong they could still be out there I cant risk loosing you” Harry smiled “then come with me I mean if we have an attack who better to protect us then someone who has already been through it” Cooper sighed “I don't know” Harry again looked at him “besides you can see Christie again and you know catch up” Cooper saw his son smiling at him he shook his head “OK on one condition I stay with you at the camp site” Harry glared at him “oh what” but the look on Cooper's face harry knew he couldn't argue he just nodded.

Cooper stared out of the car window at the sights of Scotland he closed his eyes as he remembered the sarge and him talking. “feels strange doesn't it” Cooper opened his eyes to see Christie looking at him he smiled at her and got out of the car she welcomed him in a warm embrace “its good to see you again” Cooper smiled and kissed her soft lips. “yeah its weird being back but you make up for it” he said and kissed her again. Christie looked behind him “so where is he” Cooper shrugged “with Jenny they have gone to pick the others up look are you sure your up for this” Christie again smiled “you me Scotland woods why not” Cooper nodded “but what if” she smiled at him and touched his face “the chances of it happening again are a million to one Coup” Cooper looked at her “yeah that's what they said about Jaws” Christie sighed “that's a film Hun” Cooper nodded “I know but still” she shook her head and sighed “if it happens and I mean if we will handle it OK” Cooper looked at her and smiled she was so much like her dad that it hurt he stroked her long brown hair “your dad would be so proud of you” she felt a lump form in her throat “just like he is of you he loved you to bits Coup he used to talk about you all the time you were the son he never had” Cooper smiled at her “so then you think he would have approved of us” Christie nodded “dam straight soldier” he picked her up and held her tight “I never be leaved in love until I met you” Christie smiled at him “I told you once that good things happen to good people” Cooper nodded “a line your dad used a lot if I recall” she kissed him “where do you think I got it from” she laughed and he put her down “so you all packed “ Christie nodded “yep underwear check tops check guns knifes and other useful weapons check” Cooper laughed “you would make a great soldier pity your a girl” Christie punched him “hey just cause im a girl doesn't mean I cant fight like the best of them you know” Cooper nodded “I know I have seen you in action remember” Christie smiled looked past him and smiled again as she saw Sam in the back seat of the car she let go of Cooper and bent down “Sam come here girl” Sam jumped off the seat then suddenly looked at Christie and started growling. Cooper looked at her “Sam what's wrong girl its Christie you know her” Sam walked over very carefully and allowed Christie to stroke her but still with a low growl in her throat. Cooper stared at Sam then shrugged “she has been grumpy all day sorry Christie” Christie stood up “its fine she hasn't seen me for a while and dogs forget” Cooper nodded but knew Sam only growled when something was wrong.

Later that same day/Jenny's room

Harry kissed Jenny and rolled over she smiled at him “don't you think we should get going its getting late” Harry shook his head “we have hours yet besides dad needs to get acquainted with Christie they have a lot to talk about” Jenny smiled “that's not all I would think” harry gave her a dicusted face “do you mind that's my dad” Jenny laughed “baby its normal for your dad to want to have sex” Harry put his hands over his ears “cant hear you” Jenny smiled at him “I love you” Harry looked at her “what” jenny bit her lip “I mean your great” Harry took her hand “no you said you love me” Jenny sighed “I do I love you” Harry smiled at her “I love you to” Jenny shifted uncomfortably “I guess I should have told you sooner but I didn't know how you felt and the row the other night” Harry looked at her “all couples row its normal” Harry nodded “ I know its just since dad and mum split up I hate rows” Jenny touched his cheek “your dad hasn't been the same since he came back from Scotland I mean god knows what happened there” Harry sighed and looked at Jenny he loved her but couldn't bring himself to tell her about the werewolves. He sighed again “I think we should get going its getting late and dad will worry” Jenny looked at him “are you OK” Harry nodded “fine just don't like talking about the past that's all” Jenny nodded and kissed him. “has your dad ever told you what happened out there I mean the truth” Harry shook his head “we don't really talk about it” Jenny nodded “its just what with the rumours I just thought maybe he would tell you the truth” Harry looked at her “rumours” Jenny sighed “well when your dad came back they said that their was a mad man and he killed all of the soldiers apart from your dad and how it was weird that he was the only one who got out” Harry glared at her “my dad was fighting for his life he tried to save those other men but they were to strong for him” Jenny looked at him “they I thought the police said their was one” Harry looked at her and bit his lip “no I just meant he was trying to save them the soldiers but that thing got to them and killed them that's all” Jenny sighed “why do you call him a thing” Harry shook his head “well you cant call it a man I mean can you” Jenny nodded “no I guess not but to think he could still be out there” Harry held up his hand “babe can we not talk about this now” Jenny nodded “sure so lets get dressed and get going then”

Chapter three/

Cooper sighed as he saw Jenny's car pull up he looked at his watch. She stopped the car and Harry got out “sorry were late we lost track of time” Cooper smiled at him “you know how many times I have used that excuse in my life son but at least your here now where are the others” Harry shrugged “thought they would be here unless they have gone on ahead Gary said he might” Cooper shook his head “so much for keeping you altogether” Harry stared at his father “dad for god's sake we are not in the army you know” Cooper nodded “good job because a team are meant to stay together we always did unless the sarge told us not to it could save your life” Harry shook his head “ yeah yeah I know heard it all before now can we go please” Cooper looked at him and again and shook his head “just for once Harry I wish you would listen to me” Harry smiled at him “I do listen I just don't take any notice”Cooper sighed and handed Harry a bag “look make yourself useful and put that in the car im going to go and see if Christie is OK” Harry looked at him “why is she not then” Cooper shrugged “something strange happened with Sam earlier she growled at Christie” Harry sighed “oh and I suppose you think because she growled at her that she has to be a werewolf right” Cooper again shrugged “got to admit it was weird” Harry shook his head “dad Sam is female you and her have been together for two years she loves you to bits now it doesn't take a scientist to work out that she is jealous of Christie” Cooper smiled “ah maybe your right but still” Harry sighed and slipped his arm around Cooper “Dad just face facts the only thing wrong with Christie is that she is to good for you” Cooper slapped his son “very funny now go and put that bag in the car and wait there while I go get Christie” Harry nodded and walked towards the car Just as Christie came out of the house she smiled at Harry “well haven't you grown” Harry nodded “and so have you I see” Christie smiled as she thought back to the first time she saw Harry it was at her fathers funeral he was 15 at the time but every bit as handsome as Cooper. Now to years on and she thought he could certainly give Cooper a run for his money. Harry walked over to her and hugged her “you look well” she smiled sweetly at him “as do you and I see you and Jenny are still going strong” Harry looked at Jenny then back at Christie “yeah better then strong she loves me” Christie smiled at him “im glad you just look after her” Harry nodded “same goes to you with dad he cares a lot about you I mean hell he came all the way here to see you” Christie again smiled “he came here to make sure that you were safe but nice try all the same” Harry smiled “but he does think a lot of you” Christie smiled again “I know so are we already” Harry nodded and walked over to the car. Cooper looked at Christie “you sure you want to do this I mean hang out with a bunch of kids” she smiled at him then kissed him “ like my dad always said you go into the woods kids and you come out men” Cooper smiled at her “I wish I had known you when your dad was alive we could be married by now” Christie shook her head “I never would have seen you you and dad would have always been out on some training mission this way is better “ Cooper sighed “ I guess your right so shall we” Christie nodded and they got into the car.

A few hours Later

Cooper parked the car at the edge of the woods and got out. “so OK where are your friends” Harry opened the door “well there's their car” Cooper looked down the road and spotted two range rovers parked next to each other. Harry and Cooper walked over to them and checked inside. Cooper sighed when he saw two bags on the back seat “well your friends are here but have left their bags behind not very good at camping are they” Harry smiled “yeah I think Gary and Tina have other things on their minds dad” Cooper looked at his son and shook his head “well come on I think we better go and find them it will be dark soon and I don't want to be in the middle of know where” Harry nodded and they walked back to the car. Christie looked around just as Cooper opened the door “you OK” he said looking at her “yeah fine its just I remember dad bringing me here when I was little we always used to go camping” Cooper smiled “two roads down is where we did our training mission” Christie looked at him “is the farm house near here” Cooper shrugged “not sure but I think its farther up then this” they all got out of the car Cooper looked at his watch “right its 1800 hours so if we get a move on we can set up camp before it gets dark” Christie smiled at Harry “you can take the man out of the soldier but you cant take the solder out of the man” Harry nodded “how so true” then he took Jenny's hand and they all walked into the woods.

Chapter four/all to fermiler

Cooper set up the tent and sat down Harry looked at him “I don't know where my mates have gone they said they would ring but I haven't heard from them” Cooper sighed “like you said they had other things on their minds” Harry nodded “listen Jenny and I are going to do a bit of exploring” Cooper looked at him “its going to be dark soon im not sure you should be wandering off” harry sighed “dad please” Cooper nodded “OK fine just take one of Christie's weapons with you “ Harry again looked at him “right and how do I explain that one to Jenny” Cooper sighed “well if you had told her in the first place you wouldn't need to explain would you” Harry glared at his father “dad it happened to you not me and I am not going to ruin my relationship over something that will never happen again OK” Cooper looked at him “then just humour me please that's all ask” Harry shrugged and took a long silver knife off Christie then he and Jenny walked off. Cooper sat by the fire and sighed “why doesn't he listen to me” Christie sat next to him “because he is young and in love” Cooper shook his head “yeah and that could get him killed god he makes me so mad sometimes its as though he doesn't believe me” Christie sighed and stroked Sam who was lying beside her “he does believe you he just doesn't want to admit it because then he would never go out is that what you want” Cooper looked at her “of course not but I know what lurks in the shadows I have seen what horrors are out there as have you” Christie nodded “but he hasn't look it may never happen again you could be worrying for nothing you know” Cooper shook his head “no its not over I can feel it” Christie slipped her arm around him “well if its not then we will fight it together like before” Cooper smiled at her remembering the first time they had met. She was brought out to fight the remaining werewolves before the police got involved and she had met Cooper. He smiled at her again and touched her hair “do you realise our first date was fighting werewolves” she laughed “yeah and our second date is round a camp fire in the woods” Cooper sighed “do you think I should go and find Harry” Christie looked at him “he is your son if anything happens he would know what to do” Cooper nodded “I hope so” he thought but in the back of his mind that same feeling he had two years ago had started to creep back in the feeling of complete and utter fear.

Meanwhile in another part of the woods.

Harry and Jenny stood and stared at what used to be an old farm house Jenny shuddered “oh my god Harry this is the place where they found your dad's mates” Harry suddenly felt very cold “Jen I think we should get back” Jenny looked at him “babe come on lets go and see what's left” Harry sighed “it was two years ago I doubt there would be anything but bones if they haven't already gone that is” Jenny tugged on his arm “yeah but still how cool is this I mean this is the place were it all happened how five men died by a mad man” Harry shrugged “ look its getting dark we can come back tomorrow when its light” Jenny shook her head “no I want to go in there now” Harry shivered “if my dad knows we are here he is going to go ape” Jenny smiled “so don't tell him come on babe it will be fun” Harry sighed “OK but can we be quick” Jenny smiled at him “don't tell me your afraid of the dark” Harry shook his head “no just what's in it” he thought she took his hand and they slowly walked towards the broken down house. Harry looked around “there isn't much here Jen” Jenny nodded then bent down and picked up an old photo “look this was a picture of a family perhaps they lived here” Harry nodded “maybe” Jenny then noticed something lying on the floor she picked it up “hey its a rabbits foot or what's left of it someone's lucky charm” Harry shrugged “not very lucky for the rabbit though” Jenny smiled at him then went quiet he looked at her “you OK” she nodded “yeah just got a funny feeling like that has been said before” Harry looked at her “what do you mean” Jenny sighed “oh its OK I don't think you would believe me any way” Harry smiled “you would be surprised at what I believe in lately” Jenny looked at him “well sometimes I get feelings from things I pick up almost like a premonition but not cause its already happened “ harry nodded “so are you telling me you feel something from that foot” Jenny nodded “if I close my eyes I might be able to seance more hang on” Jenny closed her eyes and Harry looked around nervously “well what do you see” Jenny opened her eyes and glared at him “look I cant do it just like that just wait” harry sighed “sorry its just this place is giving me the creeps” Jenny closed her eyes and concentrated “well I see a women she's pretty holding this rabbit's foot” Harry sighed “yeah and” Jenny continued “she has just said what you said same words” just then Jenny's eyes opened “well that's weird the guy she was talking to is your dad” Harry sighed “are you sure it isn't someone who looks like him” jenny shook her head “I do know what your dad looks like you know” Harry nodded “ yeah sorry so what else do you see” she closed her eyes again “well your dad this women oh and Sam what is she doing here” harry suddenly felt very uncomfortable “well she was with dad two years ago” Jenny nodded “yeah OK well there are more people there at least five more and a guy sitting in a chair doesn't look very happy” harry bit his lip because Jenny was now describing what his dad had told him. Harry then snatched the foot off her she glared at him “hey why did you do that” harry shrugged “its getting dark Jen I think we should go and I don't think you should tell dad it might be to much for him” Jenny sighed “look I tell you the biggest secret going and you brush it off like its nothing” Harry shook his head “its not that its just look people were killed here and now you tell me that you can see it its just a bit weird that's all” Jenny nodded “yeah OK point taking but to me this is interesting there was something that happened here and I would love to know what I don't believe the so called stories about a mad man killing people” harry looked at her “well OK what do you think it was” jenny smiled at him “no you will think im crazy” harry touched her face “try me” Jenny took a deep breath “OK but keep an open mind I think it was something not human I think it was werewolves”

Chapter Five/ the whole truth

Cooper sighed and finished his mug of tea . He glanced at his watch it was 7.30 soon it would be dark. He put the cup on the floor and stood up Sam jumped to her feet Cooper smiled at her “settle down girl im just standing up” Sam looked at him yawned then laid back down. Christie came out of the tent and looked at Cooper “im sure their fine coup” Cooper nodded “I know I just would feel better if he was here now” Christie sighed and sat next to him “Harry can take care of himself he is your son after all” Cooper again nodded “ I know that but he hasn't had the training that I have had he wouldn't know what to do if he came across a werewolf” Christie smiled “I think he would he knows that to kill one you need silver right” Cooper nodded “good so that's all he needs to know” Cooper looked at her “but he will want to protect Jenny and that could get him killed” Christie shook her head “she was wrong you know” Cooper looked at her “who” Christie sighed “Megan when she told you being nice to people would get you killed” Cooper shook his head “no she said being nice to her will get me killed that's where she was wrong” Christie stared into the fire “you liked her didn't you” Cooper shrugged “yeah she was OK or so I thought” she shook her head “since that night you have learnt so much Coup” Cooper nodded “ yeah like it was so fucked up we were sent there as bait the bloody government couldn't care less about a group of soldiers that's what's fucked up” Christie nodded “why did you never tell any one the truth” Cooper shrugged “what's the point they only would have covered it up any way right five men died that night including your father and know one gave a dam” Christie slipped her arm around Cooper Sam lifted her head and growled softly Cooper smiled “Its OK girl lay down” Sam let out a sigh and laid her head down Christie looked at her “what's wrong why does she keep growling at me” Cooper smiled “I guess your not the only one who feels something for me” Christie smiled at him “I guess not after all she did save your life” Cooper stroked Sam's head “that she did” Christie sighed “I have been thinking” Cooper looked at her “yeah” “how about tomorrow we go home to your home” Cooper looked at her “you mean me and you as living together” Christie smiled “it makes sense you don't want to live here cause of what happened and I don't want to be apart from you so” Cooper kissed her “you are willing to move from your home to be with me” Christie smiled at him “I love you and its taking me until now to realise that” Cooper brushed her hair away from her eyes “I knew the moment I met you and still know now” Christie kissed him gently on the lips “so pvt Cooper do you want to retire to the bedroom slash tent and talk about it some more” Cooper smiled at her then picked her up “ talking is the last thing I want to do right now” he looked down at Sam “girl you stay here keep watch until Harry comes back” Sam wagged her tail and sat up as Cooper and Christie went into the tent.

Back at the farm house

Harry stared at Jenny hardly believing in what she had just said “werewolves but” Jenny nodded “I know it sounds crazy but think about it a lot of strange stuff goes on all the time I mean just cause you have never seen one doesn't mean they don't exist right” Harry sighed she didn't realise how close she was to the truth “yeah I know that but full moon people turning in to wolves Jenny come on that's x files stuff” Jenny sighed “yeah so the government covers up stuff all the time you know that the whole alien thing Roswell it happened they just didn't want you to see it” Harry sighed again “OK I have known you for three years since school and I never knew this side of you” Jenny nodded “there is a lot you don't know about me and stuff I haven't told you because I love you and don't want to loose you” harry pulled her to him “but nothing you could say would make me not want to be with you” Jenny looked at him “ do you mean that” Harry nodded “yes” Jenny stepped away from him and took a deep breath “there is something I have to tell you and your not going to like it” Harry felt his blood run cold he turned the silver knife in his pocket “go on” Jenny sighed “I know more about what happened here then you think and I know that your dad's friends were not killed by a mad man they were killed by werewolves and the reason I know is because im involved with it all” Harry looked at her “meaning” Jenny felt tears in her eyes “you know my dad is always away well there is a reason for that he works with the government they have been tracking werewolves for years now and your dad's team were sent in as bait to lure them out then my dad's team were going to come down here and capture them” harry could feel himself getting angry “you knew what was going to happen to them you knew and you never told me” Jenny looked at him and hung her head down “ I'm sorry I didn't know that your dad was going to be one of the men sent out by the time I knew it was to late” Harry felt tears burn his eyes “how could you do this you are the one person in my life I depend on and you tell me this” Jenny looked at him “I really am sorry I'm just glad your dad got out alive” Harry shook his head “so us coming here wasn't an accident was it you plained this why” Jenny brushed the tears away that had formed in her eyes “because I thought that they might still be here and I could capture one” Harry glared at her “you mean you hoped dad would be here and he would capture one for you” he shook his head “you stupid little girl do you know realise what you have done not only have you brought me here to the same place my dad's team were killed but you have put all of our lives in danger” Jenny went to grab his arm but he shoved her away “don't touch me you just better pray that they are all dead because you wont live to see tomorrow other wise” Jenny glared at him “ what do you mean” Harry grabbed hold of her and looked her deep in the eyes “I know more then you think because dad told me everything so if you know what's good for you then we are leaving now” Jenny opened her mouth to speak when they suddenly heard a loud growl Harry looked at her “well Jenny you want to meet one well now's your chance” Jenny looked at him and she was shaking he saw the fear in her eyes “no please Harry get me out of here” harry sighed and listened very carefully “its close if we run it will follow we have to stay here and be quiet” Jenny nodded and they bent down on the floor. Harry kept his eyes on the trees it was then they both saw it a big black creature Jenny held Harry's hand tightly “Oh my god” Harry looked at her “that's what you have been protecting Jenny looked at him and the tears fell “I am so sorry I lied to you” harry saw the pain and fear in her eyes “look for now forget it we have to get out of here and get dad” jenny nodded “I'm scared” harry looked at her “ I know just try and stay calm no noise their vision is based on our movement OK so don't move” Jenny took a deep breath and clutched Harry's hand “were going to die aren't we” Harry looked at her “yeah but not tonight not if I can help it” Jenny stifled a scream and Harry looked at her “right when I say move very carefully over to the woods OK” Jenny nodded Harry held the silver knife tightly in his pocket as they moved very quietly towards the woods they stopped dead the werewolf was looking in their direction. Harry and Jenny didn't move it was then their werewolf moved away from them. Harry looked at Jenny “right its gone over to the back of the house now on three we run OK one two three” they both stood up and ran like the devil himself was after them. After what seemed like hours they stopped and looked around but nothing was following them Harry turned to Jenny who was crying “that was what killed those men and almost my dad now after seeing that do you still wont to protect it” jenny shook her head tearfully and Harry held her “ come on we need to get back and tell dad what we saw he needs to know its not over”

Chapter six/its back

Cooper shot out of his tent as he heard Sam barking, to his releaf he saw Harry and Jenny walking towards him. “Dad we are not alone” Cooper Looked at him “you mean” Harry nodded “yeah we just saw one over by the old farm house you stayed in” Cooper sighed “did you only see one” Harry again nodded “yeah big bastard no wonder you always have bad dreams I think I will now as well after seeing that” Cooper looked at Jenny “are you OK” she nodded but didn't speak” Cooper again looked at Harry “right well lets pack up and go quickly” Harry glared at him “what no way we have to kill it” Cooper almost laughed “are you kidding those things wiped out my whole team and you want to play rambo no way get your things now” Harry sighed and stormed over to the tent, Cooper glanced at Jenny she wasn't normally this quiet “ look Jenny I know this must feel very strange to you but I have fought these things before I know what we are up against” Jenny sighed “can we just go please” Cooper nodded but inside he felt something wasn't quite right. He looked over at Sam who was now ears pricked facing the bushes Cooper walked over to her and stroked her head “ you sense them to don't you girl” Sam looked at him and a low growl escaped her throat. Cooper nodded and bent down to her “who is it girl” but Sam only stood looking in to the trees not moving. Dad please listen to me” Cooper stood up and faced his son “go ahead” Harry took a deep breath “look if we don't kill this thing other people could die” Cooper sighed “if we stay here we could die” Harry nodded “ yeah I know but you killed one right how hard could it be” Cooper clenched his fist “look I have seen these things rip a man to shreds all within a couple of seconds they are fast they are clever and they are not human think about it son what chance do you think we really stand”

Harry again sighed “so you want to just give up and go home forget it ever happened just like the last two years” Cooper shook his head “I have not forgot the last two years I just don't want to go back there I'll tell you something when I was in that farm house all I could think about was you and that gave me the strength to keep fighting but I could have died in fact if it wasn't for Sam I would have” Harry nodded “fine but your a soldier right you are taught to fight to survive its your job” Cooper again shook his head “to fight and kill other men not bloody werewolves were the hell are you taught to do that in the army we are not invincible and when you come across those things everything you are taught goes out the window and the only thing left is fighting for your life” Harry stood his ground and faced his father “you know when I was younger I was so proud of you, how you were going to be a great soldier but then you let a bunch of pussy dogs push you around I thought you were stronger then that” Cooper couldn't take any more without thinking he slapped Harry round the face. Harry rubbed his cheek and glared at him “so you can hit your own son but you cant take out one little dog” Cooper glared at him “ fine you think you can do better go ahead but when that one dog has your head in its mouth remember this you could have walked away” Harry stared at him “you know fine I will” and with that he stormed off Cooper sighed and watched him go knowing only to well that he would soon follow.

Jenny sighed and sipped the tea that Christie had made for her. She looked at Christie “do you think Cooper and his father are going to be OK” Christie smiled “they will be fine trust me” Jenny sighed again “he hates me” Christie looked at her “who” Jenny felt the tears fall “Harry” Christie looked at her “why do you say that” Jenny shrugged “we had a row” Christie smiled at her “Hun we all row it doesn't mean he hates you” Jenny nodded “I told him something I shouldn't have” Christie again smiled “ look im sure what ever it is you will sort it out” Jenny shook her head and looked at Christie “ I need to tell you something” But Christie only shook her head “you don't have to tell me anything its between you and Harry you will work it out” Jenny sighed and stood up she turned to Christie “its not over you know I don't think it ever will be” Christie opened her mouth to speak but Jenny was already out of the tent.

Meanwhile in another part of the woods.

Cooper held the riffle tightly in his hand he looked around eyes darting this way and that. He felt something brush against his leg he looked down to see Sam he smiled and stroked her shiny black and white coat “didn't think I would be doing this alone” Sam licked his hand. Just then he heard a low growl coming from the woods he stopped dead “its Close girl” Sam looked ahead of her and Cooper saw her hackles go up. Then all of a sudden out of know where it appeared it grabbed Cooper and pushed him to the ground he tried to point the gun at it but it was to strong the werewolf pushed the gun out of his hand it again grabbed Cooper and sank its teeth into his hand. Cooper cried out in pain just then he heard a shot behind him and the werewolf fell to the ground dead. Cooper looked up and saw harry standing with the gun. Cooper smiled at his son as he took his hand “told you I could protect myself” Cooper sighed and shook his head “if you didn't have the gun and the werewolf came towards you it would have been different” Harry shook his head “I just saved your life when are you going to give me a break” Cooper looked at him “ when you finely realise how dangerous these things are” Harry suddenly noticed his dad's hand “dad what's that” Cooper looked at his hand “oh I must have done it on the tree its aright its just a scratch” Harry looked at him “ dad im not five I know that isn't a scratch it bit you didn't it” Cooper sighed then nodded. Harry ripped a piece of his shirt and wrapped it around Cooper's hand “dad I” Cooper stopped him “look we both know what will happen so when the time comes” Harry looked at him “ I cant” Cooper shook his head “cant you ever do as your told” harry sighed “not when it comes to this no dad” Cooper nodded and looked at Sam who was moving slowly away from Cooper “ its starting we need to get back to camp”

Chapter 7/who are they

Cooper laid down in the tent with help from Harry. He sighed and looked at his son “well I knew I would go before you but I never expected it would be like this” harry looked at him “dad please all we need to do is get you back home then maybe someone can help you” Cooper sighed and shook his head “I'm done for kid I have seen people get bitten by these things trust me its not pretty” Harry felt the tears burn his eyes “Jenny knows stuff her dad could help you” Cooper again sighed “ trust me I would rather be dead then some government experiment” Harry glared at him “you know” Cooper nodded “Christie and I have known for two years I even knew before then truth be known” harry shook his head “then why did you let us stay together” Cooper smiled “ its not Jenny's fault her father's a wanker” harry sighed “ she could have told me” Cooper shook his head “she loves you besides if she had you would have come down here guns blasting and that would not have helped” harry felt a lump in his throat “its my fault if I hadn't gone off you wouldn't have come after me and got yourself bit” Cooper sighed “yes I would the sarge always said I never think” harry shook his head “you were protecting me of coarse you would have come looking” Cooper winched “ harry your my son I love you but sometimes things happen for a reason and I believe that now” Harry shook his head “bull are you telling me your meant to be one of those things” Cooper shook his head “no but the first time round I survived I don't think im supposed to this time” harry slipped his hand in to his pocket and pulled out the rabbits foot he gave it to Cooper he smiled “well I never thought I would see this again” harry nodded “we found it in the farm house its yours isn't it” Cooper nodded “yeah had this a long time” He handed it back to Harry “now its yours” Harry looked at him “ I cant take this” Cooper smiled “why not I don't have much Harry this is the most treasured thing I own and now you own it” Harry sighed “ no dad your not going to die you don't deserve it” Cooper sighed “ did the sarge deserve it or spoon or Terry” harry shook his head “no or Ryan” Cooper looked at him “oh yeah he did and more besides” Harry glared at him “dad” Cooper sighed “what he did he was the bastard that set us up” Harry shook his head “no that was Jenny's dad Ryan was bait like you lot” Cooper coughed and harry saw blood in his mouth “im going to get Christie” Cooper shook his head “ no I don't want her to see me like this Besides we need to talk to decide what to do” harry shook his head “no we need to get you out of here” Cooper took Harry's hand “you listen to me people need to know I don't know how many more are out there but each time someone comes into these woods they die your friends where are they” harry shook his head “I thought they might have gone home” Cooper sighed “do you really think that” harry shook his head sadly Cooper nodded “well then two more have gone missing that werewolf could have been one of them” harry nodded “ what do you want me to do” Cooper put his hand in his pocket and pulled out some old photos “take these to who ever you think would be interested the government cant get away with this” Harry shook his head “you cant be serous how can I go up against them” Cooper smiled “ you killed a werewolf tonight going up against the government is going to be a piece of piss” Harry laughed “I guess your right” Cooper nodded “ son I always am when im gone” harry looked away “no listen now when im gone you Christie Jenny must tell the truth” Harry shook his head “ Jenny wont” Cooper shook his head “Jenny will she loves you what she has seen tonight would convince her even more” Harry sighed “I don't know if I can forgive her dad she killed all those men” Cooper sighed “of course you can you have loved this girl for three years that doesn't just go” harry looked at his dad “it did with you and mum” Cooper sighed then winced again “your mum and I son we drifted apart I could never bring myself to tell her the truth but now you have to she needs to know what happened that night and tonight and then she will know why it was so hard for me when I came back home” Harry nodded “so what happens now” Cooper again sighed “ now you give me the gun go outside and wait keep Christie away and keep Jenny calm oh and look after Sam she has been good to me” harry nodded and Cooper saw the tears in his eyes “now come on don't cry I don't want tears there will be enough of those from Christie I need to you to stay strong for me got it” harry nodded and handed him the gun Cooper smiled at him “go on go out side ill see you soon” harry did as he was told and walked out Cooper sighed and held the gun to his head he pulled back the trigger with his finger and smiled “they think its all over it is now” then he pulled the trigger and the gun went off and on that night pvt Cooper took his life.

Harry held on to Christie as she cried he couldn't let her see the tears in his eyes he knew it would make her worse. When her crying had finely subsided he looked at her “you al right now stupid question I know but had to ask” Christie wiped the newly formed tears and nodded “its me that should be asking you” Harry sighed and shook his head “if I could have stopped him I would” Christie shook her head “ no Hun you couldn't I have known your father for two years now and when he sets his mind to something he always sees it through” she swallowed to stop from crying again “even this” Jenny walked over and coughed gently “ERM sorry to interrupt but don't you think we should get out of here now” Harry sighed again “ I don't really want to leave dad here to those bastards but I don't think I can go in there and see him like that” Jenny nodded “look seeing as I feel like im to blame for this I could go in and put a blanket over him or something Harry shook his head. Part of him blamed her for everything but the other part of him didn't want to put her through the horror of seeing her dad's body. He smiled at her even though his heart was breaking “he is my dad so its my job to go in there and bring him out” he looked at Christie and sighed “have you got like a sleeping bag or something” Christie nodded opened her duffel bag and took out an old black sleeping bag she handed it to Harry “here this was your dad's years ago I just never gave it back to him” harry took it and smiled at her “thanks” then he walked towards the tent. Christie sighed and stroked Sam. “what are we going to do” Christie looked up at Jenny who was standing shaking. “to be honest Jenny I have no idea I just want to get out of here and home” Jenny nodded “I know what you mean I was all for saving them but now” Christie glared at her “what” Jenny realised that Christie didn't know she started to back away as Christie stood up “please don't tell me that you have something to do with this” Jenny sighed and hung her head “I'm sorry” Christie grabbed her arm “sorry you have no idea what you have done do you not only did you send six dam good soldiers to their death but you have also killed the man that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and all you can do is say sorry” Jenny tried to get her arm free “you don't understand I didn't know any of this was going to happen” Christie sighed “just answer me one question just one” Jenny nodded and Christie felt the tears in her eyes “did you know that my dad was one of the six men” Christie saw the fear in Jenny's eyes she slowly nodded “im sorry” Christie glared at her then picked up the gun that was lying on the floor she pointed at her “you fucking bitch I believed in you I tried so hard to keep you and Harry together their were times that Cooper didn't trust you and yet it was me telling him to give you a chance” Jenny watched Christie with the gun “I know im sorry” Christie pulled the trigger back “sorry you killed my father took away my family and the man I loved, you set those things loose in the wood's and all you can say is sorry well im afraid sorry isn't good enough the only thing that I want from you is your blood” Jenny closed her eyes. “NO” she opened her eyes and saw Harry running over to her “Christie please don't do this” Christie looked at him with tears in her eyes “give me one dam good reason why not” Harry walked over to her and reached out his hand “because dad wouldn't want you to I know your angry so am I but aim your anger at the things that deserve this the werewolves they killed your father and dad not Jenny” Christie shook her head “but they would never have been out there if it wasn't for her” harry sighed and looked at Jenny who was shaking he looked back at Christie and took a deep breath “she wasn't the one who sent those men out there that was her father she didn't know until it was to late look if you don't believe her believe me I would never lie to you so please put the gun down and lets go home” Christie dropped the gun on the floor and fell to her knees Harry held her “look I know its hard but if we are going to get out of these woods we need to stay strong and be there for each other but most of all we need to survive to tell people what has happened the truth other wise dad and your dad died in vain” Christie looked at him the tears now falling “your dad would be so proud of you right now” Harry kissed the top of her head “we are going to get through this I promise” then he helped Christie to her feet. He walked over to Jenny “you all right” she looked at him “scared” he smiled at her “good keep that its what you need to keep going because when this is all over im going to need you to come clean got it” Jenny nodded “im sorry I do love you” harry looked at her sadly “that's not something I can say right now you have hurt me and because of what you know my father is dead and im having a hard time dealing with that so just give me time OK” Jenny again nodded “so what now” Harry sighed and looked at the women “now we get the hell out of here” just then Jenny screamed and Sam started barking Harry turned round and saw three werewolves coming out of the tree's towards them he took a deep breath and picked up the gun that was on the floor “right no time for running we stay and fight” Christie looked at him and nodded she pulled out a pistol Harry looked at her confused she only smiled at him “Cooper's lucky bullets” Harry nodded then looked at Jenny she didn't have a weapon he sighed and threw her the silver knife “in the tent by dad is the shot gun get it” she looked at him with fear in her eyes “I cant I cant move” Sam growled as the werewolves were getting closer. Harry moved slowly towards Jenny “take this gun and cover me” she again looked at him “but” he glared at her “just do it” Jenny nodded and Harry moved slowly over to the tent just then he heard a shot ring out he looked over as Christie shot one of the werewolves straight in the head it went down. Harry smiled at her “good keep it going don't let your guard down not even for a second” Christie nodded and shot at the next one she missed. Harry picked up the shot gun and ran towards Christie with Jenny following close behind. They all stood in a line Sam in the middle of them teeth baring Harry pointed his gun ready to shoot “OK when I say fire fire lets send these bastards back to hell” the two women nodded and both pointed their guns Harry looked at them “right here we go this is for dad ready fire”

What took place next seemed to go on for hours Harry Jenny and Christie were shooting off rounds one after another when it finely stopped Harry looked around four werewolves were dead. He sighed and dropped the gun for lying on the floor was Jenny he rushed over to her she had been attacked he picked her up gently she looked at him and smiled “we got them” harry tried to smile back but couldn't “we got babe” he looked at her then noticed the gaping hole in her chest he knew “im sorry” Jenny touched his face “don't be its over” he looked at her the tears rolling down his cheek “ I love you” jenny smiled at him “I know I love you to and you know what you have to do” Harry glared at her “no” Jenny again nodded “you don't have a choice if I change” Christie looked at her “Hun you wont change” jenny looked up at her “what why” Christie tried to stop herself throwing up “because the cut is not” harry looked at her “she means it isn't a scratch its deeper then that” jenny looked at him “if I could turn back time I would” harry nodded “ I know” Jenny coughed and Harry saw blood coming out of her mouth. He stroked her hair “don't leave me” she said harry smiled at her through tears “never” then he kissed her head and she closed her eyes for the last time.

Chapter eight/Is it really over ?

Harry had never been so happy to see the sun start to come up. He sighed and closed the boot of the car. Christie looked at him “im sorry Hun about Jenny” harry nodded “if she only knew how I felt about her” Christie nodded “she knew” harry put his hand in his pocket and brought out a box he opened it and inside was a gold and silver engagement ring Christie looked at him “oh harry” he sighed “ I guess I left it to long” Christie slipped her arm around him “I blamed her and im sorry she didn't know what her father had done and now its to late” Harry nodded “but they haven't died in vain when we get back everybody is going to know” Christie looked at him sadly “no their not” harry looked at her surprised “what” she stepped back and looked at him with tears in her eyes “ I'm sorry Harry but I have to keep my family safe” harry stepped back against the car as Christie began to turn he looked at her with shock and fear in his eyes “but how its not full moon” Christie smiled at him “ it doesn't have to be where the new breed we are the real dog soldiers” she grabbed hold of him and looked him deep in the eyes “Cooper was right you never should have come” she said and then stroked Harry's hair he tried to get away but couldn't Christie had him and as the sun came up all you could hear was one single scream followed by the howl of the new wolf.

Epilogue, Cooper opened the door on what was left of the old farmhouse and walked out he looked down at Sam the dog and his trusted friend. He stroked her head and sighed, tears formed in his eyes as he thought back to the night that had just passed. Six dam good soldiers entered that farmhouse and only one came out.

Chapter One/ two years later

Cooper sat up sweat pouring from him. He looked across at Sam who had lifted her head she licked his hand as though she understood what he was going through. He sighed and smiled at her “its OK girl just another dream” Sam licked his hand again and laid her head back down. Cooper sighed and closed his eyes. He could not believe that it had been a year already. Just then his phone rang he quietly growled to himself and reached over and picked it up “yes” he said “yeah dad its me” Cooper rolled his eyes as he heard his son's voice on the other end “Harry what do you want” Harry sighed and took a deep breath “well its like this im stuck in the middle of Christ knows where because Jenny and I had a row and she has fucked off” Cooper again rolled his eyes “so in other words you want me to get my arise out of this warm bed and come and get you right” he heard his son cough and followed by gagging Cooper sighed again “OK how much have you drunk” “not much I just feel a bit sick that's all so any ways can you come and get me” Cooper looked at Sam who by now was wide awake and stretching. Cooper smiled at her “yeah fine so can you at least give me some sort of direction” Harry sighed and looked around “some woods loads of trees “ Cooper again sighed “you are still in England aren't you” he heard Harry sigh again “yes dad of course iam” “good then how far are you away from say the nearest town” Harry tutted “I should I bloody know” Cooper could feel himself getting angry “right im going to call Jenny I might get more scene from her stay where you are and ill call you back” Cooper heard the phone click and sighed as he knew his son had just hung up on him. He looked at Sam who by now was bored with the whole thing and was licking her paws. He dieled Jenny's number and waited. “hello” Cooper smiled as he heard her voice he “hi Jen its Cooper Harry's father he just called me the silly twat is lost do you know where you were” he heard Jenny sigh “yes Cooper we were in lovers lane” Cooper again smiled as he remembered that was where he used to take Emma Harry's mum but that was before the divorce. “OK cheers Jen and im sure you to will work it out” he heard Jenny sigh again “OK speak to you later bye” Cooper quickly dieled Harry's number and told him to wait then he hung up the phone grabbed his clothes put them on. He looked at Sam “come on girl want to go for a ride” Sam wagged her tail and jumped off the bed Cooper grabbed his keys and walked out of the door.
