Only in My Dreams for Carina

Poetry By: Mistress of Word Play
Flash fiction

I am dedicating this poem to Carina a wonderful poet that writes her on Booksie. The picture I found to go with it reminded me of her.

fantasy woman 2

A sky draped with marshmallow clouds
spills dreams across my mind.
Sunlight pierces and ever reflects
all those thoughts left undefined.
The star filled night air comforts
this ravaged soul at days end.
All the day's heartaches vanish
and bitter pain starts to rescind.
I am free once more from the shell
which holds me captive to its whim.
I have waded through the absurdity
and reached the container's outer rim.
Here lost and found once again
among the fantasies and desire
I can grow and once more breathe
and not be laden down by life's mire.
All things that start are too soon over
and now I wave one last farewell.
Forward I go with heavy heart and soul
I walk reality's path back to hell.
