Bore well Tragedy

‘Bore well tragedy’

The bore well was 60feet deep. It was digged by some villagers in search of water. But water was not found. The unused digged bore well was not covered with soil and stone. Instead it was kept open.

Due to this the tragedy occurred. Mita fell inside the bore well.

That day was Mita’s birthday. She completed five years. In the evening she along with her parents, relatives and friends celebrated her birthday. She wore a new beautiful yellow colour skirt. She was looking like an angel.

But that evening was very unlucky for her. After celebrating her birthday at home she went out to play in the ground with her friends.

It was total dark outside, only few lamps could be seen at homes of villagers.

Mita was playing with her friends. They were enjoying. Suddenly, Mita cried loudly. After that there was no voice from Mita.

Mita’s parents, villagers rushed to that spot. They understood Mita fell inside the bore well. Police, fire brigade were called. They came. They send CCTV camera inside the hole to locate the small girl. But the photo they saw in the monitor was not so clear.

They sent a duct inside the hole to supply plenty of oxygen with a hope that Mita will survive.

Army was called. Army men came with their equipments. They knew what type of equipments require in this type of accidents, as similar type of accidents occurred earlier in other places. They started rescue operations immediately with the help of JCB and other machines.

It took almost two days to reach to the bottom of the bore well by drilling another parallel pit. The bottom of the new pit connected to the bottom of the bore well.

Army men entered through this new hole and with very difficulty they removed mita’s body. Yes, Mita died inside the bore well, may be due to shock, suffocation.

Yes, a girl looking like an angel died on her birthday. Who’s responsible for this tragedy? Who will give answer to this question? Her parents are in tremendous shock.

Only thing is known to us that a mother had lost her loving daughter due to somebody’s mistake who forgot to cover the open unused bore well.

Days passed. Months gone. Slowly this tragedy is forgotten like other incidents.

Today, once again similar accident occurred, but at another location at another village.

This time, a four year old boy fell inside an unused bore well. Tomorrow he was to go to school for the first time. He was very happy. But,

Like every time, Police was called. Fire brigade came. CCTV camera, oxygen duct send inside the hole. Army men are arriving very soon with their equipments. They will start their work and try their best to rescue the child.

But it will take few more days to complete the whole operation. Nobody knows this boy’s fate.

Let’s keep hope and pray, this little boy survives and can go to school very soon.
