She sits in the corner her small arms circling bruised knees. Tears fall slow as she cries for the love of a mother and father she has never felt. Wishing for the comfort of cuddles and affectionate kisses the tears fall unchecked as she hears the screaming from another room. In her arms a tattered teddy offers the only comfort she will ever know soaking up her tears as she hears footsteps coming towards her door. She cuddles deeper into the wall fearing the blows she knows are about to come as her tears fall faster onto her teddy bear.
