'I will not withdraw!' Rei Ashikaga said, her hands balling into fists.
'Then I will destroy you in the Tournament final.' Hano Seisuka responded, his voice as cold and menacing as she remembered.
'You underestimate my skill!' Rei snapped. 'I am not the girl that you beat near to death. I swore a vow to defeat you, and I will honour it.'
'Do not be so willing to rush to your death. You have learned much in the last year, and your skills are formidable, it is true. However, you are still not my equal. Withdraw and spare yourself the pain to come.'
'I am not afraid of pain or death, nor do I fear you. I fear the day when I do not fight with all my heart for what I believe, because then I will have become like you.'
'Then, this will all end tomorrow.'
'Yes, it will.'
