So my attendance on Booksie has been spotty, to say the least. I've been massively busy drafting and re-drafting, and re-drafting Perchance to Dream. As some of you may have known it was due to be released this spring... except my editor laid one giant bomb on me in October... "oh, by the way, can you cut your word count down by half?" So these last several months I've been answering that age old question, 'how do you kill someone and get away with it?'... no, I mean. 'How much do I really like my own work?' I haven't completed the task yet, coming down from 580 pages down to about 250 has been an incredibly excruciating task, and I have seen lots of witty lines and favorite characters go. But most importantly, I feel like my book is more streamlined, which will make the whole journey feel so much more rewarding when you get to the end. ... Can you believe she called the original a melodrama?? A melodrama! **walks away shaking head** If she didn't have my best interests at heart I would find that insulting. Of course that was the comment I needed to kick start this last edit. ((PtD lite: now with only 1% the melodrama as the origina. PtD lite, try it today.)) Oh, and sorry to leave you hanging on Gotham Romance... y'know, Duncan McDowell 'n' all...

Yes, I'm back. In the next few days I'll be catching up on requests and comments. Allow me to send out special apologies for neglect to Kuatsimoto, The Creator, Tree Star, Grotesque, Alice Clarence, Gift Of Noni, and chrono21791, whose works I was following before my sudden disappearance, and never received my thoughts. You lot are the top of my list. And of course to everyone else I missed. As for Perchance to Dream: My previous editor, Lisa, and I have gone our separate ways. Now I have Sarah and I learned you should never feel like the first attempt is the only attempt. Lisa was very skilled, but we didn't really see eye-to-eye. Sarah seems much more attuned to the direction I'm heading and it shows in all the progress we've made. ^_^ In theory, this should be my last time through before the nitty-gritty line editing. After that, it should be off to the presses. I'm hoping it'll be out by Spring time next year. My goal for the next few weeks is to fix the few stories that broke (Namely, Perchance to Dream the short story) and post up the first chapter of my next project Gotham Romance. *Fingers Crossed* It’s very lovely to see you all again. ~f

OK, so I've been gone for a *ahem* very long time. I tried to peek in every once in a while, but I've been working very hard. As most of you know I've been revising the heck out of Perchance to Dream. You remember that, right? It was the novel I worked on all of '08 and '09. Well, with the help of my editor the book is looking really good. (Oh, and very different while keeping the same spirit... sorry to say I had to cut several characters and leave behind a few cluttered B-plots, but if you're a fan of George, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I know a few of my friends and fans had cursed me out when they came to the end of his story.) BUT! As some of you know, in 48 days I'll be quitting my day job to pursue writing properly. Which means I'll have more time for you. As a treat, very soon I'll be releasing Gotham Romance (the mini-novel), my next project. Most likely it'll be unrolled in the same manner as Perchance to Dream, short, rough version, then first draft manuscript. Remember, you'll be looking at something that WILL end up in print, so if you have any thoughts, get them to me. Maybe you'll see yous idea in a real novel!

Integrity v practicality: PtD(U) has copy righted music in it. They say I can keep the little scrapes in, but I would have to pay for it out of the advance. That suits me fine. I like art, not money. Here's the clincher. I want to quit my job and write full time. If I take the music out I can afford health insurance. Should I wait and see if my book will sell and buy insurance after royalties? Or should I cut out (or back) the music and buy insurance now? Either way I hate my job... :(

An in site to working with an editor: I think I can deal with the name changes, Terri Brook to Terry Brook, and Doctor Green to Doctor Webb, (Don't ask, I'm picking my battles...) But why is it such a bother to have three homosexuals in my book? One isn't even a main character and two are married, I don't think that would work if only one was gay... Also, I didn't appreciate seeing the big fat red x through twelve pages of my manuscript. That's almost a full chapter. I'd like to call Lisa, but she's a little too convincing. (Why did I cave so easily on the names?) I'll tell you what, I'm not getting rid of Arturo Rossum. Screw that =(

I'm sorry I have been slow to all your requests and responses, but I've been working with a number of people to see about getting Perchance to Dream published. ^_^ It's been consuming a lot of time. Apparently publishers aren't just content with writers. You need to be able to sell your products too. Does anyone have any ideas about platforms? You can still read the first draft here for now, but once the completed book has a shelf date I need to take it down. If you enjoyed the story I hope you'll enjoy the finished piece which I believe is worlds better. Thanks fans, you made this happen! For all of you with a dream to write, for all of you that are just starting on this site or have been here for years, Perchance to Dream started on this site. I wrote it here and took your suggestions. My story was plucked from this site and will now be available in bookstores nation wide. There is no reason why you can’t do this either!

I can't find the right frame of mind for my next chapter. Everything is there except for the emotion so I turned to the saddest scene ever shown on television. Who remembers the ending to Jurassic Bark? In one minute I was reduced to a blubbering mess. Damn you Futurama, you're supposed to make me laugh. (I'm still not inspired enough.) =(

Perchance to Dream has become my opus. You wouldn't believe the amount of research I've done for it. Every note (researched and other) has been stored in a ternion of notebooks. Each book was dedicated to the three acts to this story, and unfortunately book two has met an early aquatic death. In short, I apologize for the delay of my next chapter. I know that has nothing to do with it) Any how, I've been erasing them as I respond, b/c I find that a mess of comments seem to bog down my pages loading. Does anyone else experience this? I've given up on the Twilight series. =( I've passed the 120 page mark on Perchance to Dream (Unabridged). I've written through to the 13th chapter, though only 8 are posted. I'm proofing 9 as we speak... I've been stricken with something worse than writer's block.... procrastination. I know where I want to be with my story... I just spend so much time watching the cursor blink. Blink. Blink. Blink. Blink....... Blink. Must stop blinking, angels might get me....

I do apologize, it seems I have taken to shameless self promotion. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I really believe in my story. I do read other author's work and usually try to leave some meaningful feedback, so I do feel justified. I usually take one day a week and read through all the requests everyone leaves me, that way I don't burn out. (Y'know besides this site I do read books... sometimes and watch TV... always with the TV, and I guess I work too and some other stuff.... feed cats.... change socks.... maybe bathe, if I have to. I guess I have to.) If I haven't gotten to your work yet, I'm sorry but I will get to you I promise!!! Thank you to all my fans, and everyone else who gives this airy flavor a chance. =)

Wait till you realize how self-absorbed my favorite quotes really are. I like reading books with happy endings, but like writing them with unsatisfied endings. I always know what I mean, I am very curious as to how others interpret my meaning. (If I like yours better, I will most definitely claim you are right.) My characters tend to suffer. Some more then others, my favorite torture is of course psychological. It's funny to think about it, actually, in real life I'm quite pleasant. I tend to write the best parts of a story and skip the filler, but I'm working on that. (It's about character building right? Love my charater's Damn it! They are an extension of me.) I try to change up the internal monologue in my head when I write, I want each story to sound individualized. I write at work when it's slow. I spend about 70% of the day in a daze... I prefer my own little world. I'd rather spend 100% of my day there, but as someone very close to me pointed out I would then receive no mail and apparently I really like mail... apparently
