the government strikes again

So it looks like the state government has taken yet another shot at the gay community, if you dont know what i am talking about well here it goes. It was'nt too long ago that a law passed called the first amendment i believe feel free to correct me if i am wrong, but this amendment now defines marriage in north carolina as a man and a woman. All i can say to that is good going North Carolina!! But that's not the end of it oh no, on top of that this law also is taking away benefits from children of single parents, so really what they are saying is either you are married to a man if you are a woman or you are married to woman if you are a man, or you dont matter in this state. You know if any of the gay community or even the single parents were causing harm i would understand them making this law to a point. But here we are minding our own business and WHAM! Here is this law pretty much smacking everyone who falls under these lines in the face. I understand that maybe our life choices are ideal for you, but who says that you have to get in the way of something that is not harming you in anyway. Marriage is not something you can just take away, what I was sitting there thinking about when i relaized that it had passed was well how would they like it if we took marriage away from them? they wouldnt like not at all in fact they would probably act more violently than we are right now. I havent noticed any rioting any unpeacful protesting in fact i haven't seen any protesting at all. It is almost as if we are laying down like old dogs unable to move and letting them kick us around, I personally don't understand this at all. But my biggest bone to pick with this is not that it is attacking us proud gays, but that its attacking the single mothers and fathers. My mom for the longest time was a single mother and its hard, extremely hard not just on the parent but the children as well. Being a single parent is stressful enough with out health benefits being taken away from you. And not all single parents are in the situation that they are in because of divorce, no did they ever think death? i mean seriously death is not easy to take, but it also takes a finacial toll, so now they are telling us if a husband or wife dies the parent left is going to have an even harder time to support the children? the government is really startig to sicken me, they keep this up they will have anarchy, they will have revoltion, rebels. do they really want to spill more blood? Havent me spilled enough blood in the war we are fighting now? They keep tellin us they ae bringing our soliders back, and all we are doing is losing more. I strongly believe in fighting for out freedom and that's why i am going into the military in just two short months i will be on my way to a military base to get my training. But what rights will we have if they keep making laws like this? The way I'm looking at it is that they will have a modern day revolt like the one described in The Hunger Games, i mean they tell us our generation will have to pick up the ball and run with it.Well did they ever think about making it at least a little easier for us and not driving this country into the ground before they hand it over to us. or that the damage they have already done with take a lifetime or maybe more to fix? i don't know about any of you, but i find this to be unbelieveable.
