Chapter 1: Roland's POV
It has been fourteen yearssince that fatal night. The fatal night of which I was attacked by a monster so large, so mysterious, that I only saw a glimsp of it's bright sunset orange eyes as I sunk it's teeth into my flesh then ran off deeper into the woods.
I remember as if it were yesterday. The horrified look on my mother's face, the disgusted and worried look on my father's. My brothers and sisters trying all they could to help me but to of no avail, they couldn't. No doctor, no chiropractor, no specialist could help me, I was of beyond help. I am now diffrent from the rest.
Eight years old....
After I had finished my supper, I cleaned off my plate and threw my napkins in the trashcan and my leftovers to our dog, Sirius.
When all was cleaned I asked my mother if I could go down by our lake, when she told me yes but to take Axel who was now a grown up, eighteen, with me down to the lake.
"I'll watch over him mom." Axel called out, as he waited for me by the door. I had to hurry to my room to grab my jacket since it was cold, Axel already had his on since supper time and before.
As we neared the lake, the full moon shined bright making the lake seem like they were filled with diamonds, crystals. It was magnificent.
I ran down to the lake full speed, laughing as I draw nearer and nearer then I stopped. A great wnd hit my face and the rest of my body, I stood still, paralyzed. I was afraid of what it was.
I look around frantically for my elder brother who wasn't there. My body shook with fear as I call out to my brother no awnser. I felt the same wind again and the crunching of the dead leaves on the ground as if someone were running on them.
I called out to my brother again, now terrified. Then the worse came, I heard a howl and a gun shot.
"Rowan! Run! Run to the hosue and don't stop!" Axel shouted out as he aimed his gun to the shadowy figure.
I did as I was told and ran for my life but I wasn't fast enough. The monster had to interest in my brother, it wanted me. I heard the monster growl and howl as it chased after me.
"Brother!" I cried out as I tripped on a root of a large tree. I sprained my ankle but I ignored it and kept running.
My brother was behind the monster trying to get it's attention but it was no use. The monster prounced then leaped above my until it was in front of me.
I screamed bloody murder as I quickly turned my body and ran towards my brother who was loading the bullets but neither he nor I were fast enough. The monster pounced and leapt again, this time sending me down under him.
Doing my best to cover my neck, I heard my brother yell out and cock his gun, he send out multiple shots aiming so he would not kill me. He quickly pulled out his cellphone and called hisfriends as I did my best to protect myself from the monster.
"You guys! Hurry get your gun! Rowan's under attack!" I heard my Axel shout as before dropping his cellphone on the ground. He shot at the monster again but made it angry.
It charged at Axel and with one full swing from it's claw, it sent my brother flying until he landed with a loud thud and blacked out.
I was now alone to face the monster, I quickly got up to run to Axel but the monster noticed and brought me down. I fought and I yelled out for help but the monster raised it's head, howl, then with it's mighty jaw, the monster sunk it's teeth into my flesh and it's claws down to my face.
I was pretty sure my horrific scream alerted my brother and his friends for they all had thier guns and were shooting at the beast. While I was being bitten, I took a glimsp of the monster's eyes, sunset orange. when the monster ran deeper into the woods, I felt the excrucating pain on my left shoulder.
"Oh damn! Axel!" John, one of my brother's friends yelled out as the rest came to take a look at my wound.
They were all horrified. I whimpered when my brother carefully picked me up. He leaned down and whispered into my ear as I slowly black out.
"I'm so sorry little brother. I'm so sorry."
Leinad, another friend of my brother's, knocked on our door then came beside and petted my hair. I felt his gentle hands but I could not move, speak, nor open my eyes, no matter how hard I try.
My sister opened the door and screamed in terror, alerting the rest of the family. My mother screamed and fainted at the horried sight, if it not for my father to be there to catch her, she could have hit the back of her skull hard and black out like me.
My father looked down at my wounds with a disgusted face. He demanded who had down this and the young men shurgged their shoulders.
"We don't know Mr. we all tried killing it but ti was too fast and too strong." Will stated as they walked over to the den and laid me down carefully onto the couch.
My mother and sister cleansed my wounds and called forth a doctor. when he came, he checked my wound and intense fear struck him.
"Can he be cured doctor?" My dad asked, concerned.
The doctor took off his stephiscope and looked straight into my dad's eyes. "He will survive but no, I cannot cure him. For these wounds are no mere ordinary wounds. They are the wounds of a werewolf."
Werewolf, I had been a werewolf for almost fifteen years. Once in a while, the wound on my left shoulder would pain me, it would also pain me as I transform for it opens and bleeds again.
I walked towards my car after I fixed my tie and locked my apartment door. I pressed the code before I got in and drove of to work for the day and evening until night fall.
I worked for Dominic, a young twenty-four-five year old man whohas chocolate brown hair and grey eyes and an atheletic body. He worked along side with his uncle Fenrir, who has the same hair color but a bit of grey in it,brown andgret facial hair, orange eyes, and the same body as Dominic.
I arrived at work, parked my car and locked it after I grabbed my bag.
I opened the door to my boss's company and walked striagh to them. They were waiting for me as we were going to discuss a very important buisness.
"Rowan, so nice to see you again. How is that wound of your's?" Fenrir asked, shaking my hand firmly as I did the same to him.
"It is fine sir, still pains every now and then." I replied with a smile. Dominic walked over and gave me a hug and I returned the favor.
"Best keep a close eye on it and pray it doesn't kill you." He stated as we walked into his uncle's office.
Fenrir sat down behind his desk as I placed by bag down beside me before I sat down on one of the chairs in front of the desk.
"Have you kept our company a secret?" He asked, leaning forward, his chin resting on his knuckles.
I nodded, stating that I have kept the company a secret and will wouldn't tell a living or dead soul.
The aging man leaned back, relaxed. "Good, because you know, Metamorphosis is a company like to other. to transform one object or creature into something else, something extraordinary, is risking to tell to the public. No, until we know it is most certainly safe enough to do it on humans and animals, we must not tell, agree?"
Dominic and I both nodded our heads in agreement. Fenrir smiled and got up to leave, he patted both of our backs before departing.
Dominic got up and walked over to his uncle's coffee making table and made himself a cup. He turned over towards Rowan and asked if he wanted a cup as well.
Making the second cup, Dominic had given his own to Roland and waited for the other one.
"So, what do you think so far of Metamorphosis?" He asked finally turning off the coffee maker and walkingover to Roland to sit next ot him.
Rowan exhaled and took a sip of his hot coffee. The contact with the heat against his throat made him cough a bit. He looked at the young dark haired man who looked concerned and nodded, swallowing the rest of his coughing down his throat.
"I like it so far but my change? Why change who you are? Metamorphosis does mean "change". I mean why change who you already are?" He asked as Dominic sipped his cup and placed it between his thighs.
He tooked over at Rowan and stared at him as he was downing his last bit of coffee.
Alsmay scattered around the den cleaning up the mess his master and friends made last night. It was as Alsmay would say, "a riot's nightmare".
After he had finished, he sighed and turned to walk away but was stopped dead, someone in his way.
His dark red hair was now unkept, his eyes glistened green from both exhausten and hunger, his clothes were torn from last night and dark shadows were forming under his eyes.
The young blond hiar boy gapped a bit, examining the older male up and down. He finally shook his head and lead the tired red hair to a near by couch.
"Master, you really need to stop doing this every night. I mean I know your alpha and all that but, even I feel like I have to play your mother." Alsmay said amused by his master's pouting.
His master sighed and laid back as soon as the blond had given the cue.
"I know, you say that all the time but do I ever listen? And when there isn't company, and I have told you many time, please. Call me Lykaios." Lykaios said, falling asleep on Alsmay shoulder.
The blond hesitated for a moment before he began to stroke his dark red hair.
"Hell! To hell with them all!" Fenrir shouted out, causing everyone around Metamorphosis co. to stop what they were doing and look at him. "I cannot believe she is coming!"
Rowan wanted to ask who but Dominic caught him just in time and shook his head then gestured to enter inside his office.
Setting the papers down by the printer, he walks inside the office and closed the door behind him.
"Now, tell me, who is coming? Who she? His wife?" Rowan asked as Dominic and his friend, laughed as if it were a joke which to them it was.
Dominic's friend got down from sitting on the desk and collaspsed his arm around Rowman's shoulder and chuckled. "Oh, she acts liek a wife alright but no, she isn't thank alpha. No, she's Daeva, a very powerful woman in the buisness, mess with her, you get a hard stone glare that'll send shivers down on your spine."
Dominic sensed the hesitation and concern from the other and jumpped down as well. He walked towards the other until they were just a step away from each other.
"As long as you don't stand in her way, you'll be fine."
"Miss Daeva, are you prepared?" A young man asked, waiting for his lady to anwser.
The raven haired lady turned to face the young man, her sunglasses setting on her nose, protecting the others from her wicked glance. Her serpant staff laid gently on the side of her throne as she walked down the four step stairs.
"Yes, let us get this meeting over with, I've got a fairy to capture." Daeva said as the man bowed and summoned the others to come forth.
The lady stopped at the foot of the door and opened her locked in which she kept between her clevledge. She smirked before a small chuckle escaped from her lips.
The picture on the thing was Alsmay's true form, a fairy. Legends have said, that when someone captures a fairy, he or she must be the captour's humble servant until the day he dies.
"One day my dear. One day Alsmay, you will be mine, all mine." She whispered to herself before she closed the locket and returned it to it's place.
