Seems that I have been held in some dreaming state
A tourist in the waking world, never quite awake.
No kiss, no gentle word could wake me from this slumber
Until I realize that it was you who held me under.
Felt it in my fist, in my feet, in the hallows of my eyelids
Shaking through my skull, through my spine
And down through my ribs.
No more dreaming of the dead as if death itself was undone.
No more calling like a crow for a boy, for a body in the garden.
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love, so in love
No more dreaming like a girl so in love with the wrong world.

P R O L O G U E :
His heart pulsed a steady staccato in his ears, the soundtrack to his soon-to-be ending life. The mouth of the shaking gun was mere inches from his face that still smarted and stung like hell.
Something wet dripped down his left temple, but Bryan couldn't tell if it was sweat or blood.
The question anymore wasn't why they were doing this. But when. Something inside him had broken because Bryan could no longer push his voice to make an intelligible sound. The metallic taste of blood filled his mouth and his ears had begun to ring. Slowly, a thumb pulled something back that clicked. The hammer, the term rose in Bryan's mind and sank back just as quickly.
Soon, the trigger will be pulled. Soon, seventeen-year-old Bryan's life will be over before it got a chance to begin.
He turned his face, closed his eyes and drew in a breath that he promised would not be his last.
