"Timmy this is never going to work." I said as I looked at him. We were both sitting in a both eating chips. We've been doing that for about one hour and have gone through 17 dates give or take a few. We were waiting for the last date but it seemed that she wasn't coming.

"It will work we just have to have patience." Timmy said as he drank more of his soda and continued eating the chips.

"What's this girl's name anyways?"

"Alexandra Bell."

"Nice name."

"Yea I guess, Timmy what if she doesn't get here, and I dressed up for nothing and plus we came walking don't forget that."

"Relax mom we have this under control and you dressed more for me than them, had it not been for me you probably would have worn some jeans and shirt instead of this beautiful black dress with a slit on the thigh, I think and it matches your beautiful black curls and green eyes." Timmy said just as another voice agreed.

"You know I totally agree with this young man that you look beautiful, and your eyes match and sparkle well with this dress, my apologies for being late, but I had to pick someone up." I heard a smooth husky voice say and I turned around to meet some light brown eyes staring into mine.

"Um, thanks." I whispered before composing myself and introducing myself.

"Hi I'm Valerie Franklin and this is Timothy." I said as I smiled and indicated to Timmy who was smiling at someone I hadn't noticed.

"Oh hi there." I said as I smiled at the girl who was hiding behind the woman.

"Oh sorry, I'm Alexandra Bell and this is my daughter Marsha Bell." The woman said as she shook my hand and I shook hers. The little girl who wasn't actually that little but looked around Timothy's age and smiled at me and said hi.

"It's okay." I said and sat down next to Timothy as Alexandra sat next to Marsha.

"Have y'all eaten yet?" Alexandra asked as she looked at us. Timothy and I looked at each other and shook our head saying no.

"Good then lets eat." Alexandra asked as she called the waiter who got our orders and then left.

"I'm sorry that I brought my daughter but her mother was planning on leaving her alone unless I went to pick her up."

"That's okay." I said and smiled taking a sip of my soda.

"So um Valerie, may I call you Val?"

"Yea but only if you let me call you Alex."

"We have a deal then." Alex said as she smiled at me.

"Oh yea um there's something you should know about me."

"What is it?" I asked curious.

"Okay um it has been almost four months since I've been divorced and I haven't dated anyone so I just want you to know that I might just be looking for a friend and not love, do you get what I'm trying to say?" Alexandra asked as she looked at me shyly. I mean come on this was a sign I wouldn't have to hurt her if all she was looking for was friendship.

"No way so have I… I mean that well I haven't dated anyone for a while and I wouldn't have done it had Timmy not convinced me." I said and looked at Timmy who looked up at us confused because he had been staring at Marsha.

"Nothing." I said as I smiled at Alex who was looking at Timmy.

"So Timmy, how old are you?"

"I'm six and you?"

"Timmy!" I said looking embarrassed at Alex who was only smiling.

"Okay sorry, hey Marsha how old are you? I asked the girl.

"I'm six." Marsha said as she continued to draw something on her pad.

"Me too." Timmy said as she looked at Marsha and finally Marsha looked up and smiled at Timmy who only blushed and smiled too. Hmm I wonder what that was all about.

"I like to be called Mars." Marsha said again as she looked at Timmy and me.

"I like to be called Timmy or Tim but no one really calls me Timothy except my mother."

"Who Valerie?"

"Um no, my mother Beatriz but she doesn't call me that anymore because my mommy won full custody of me."

"Oh congrats." Alex said as she looked at me.

"Oh she's not my mommy she's my mom." Timmy said and Alex just looked at me strangely.

"Um his parents divorced I dated his mommy who is won full custody we broke up but Timmy and I still hang out and he has named me his mom and I have named him my son." I said as I looked at Alex shyly.

"Well either way congrats on having such an amazing kid." Alex said as she smiled.

"You too."

"Hey mommy when are we going to eat?" Marsha asked just as they brought our food. Timmy and Marsha made us change so that Marsha and Timmy could sit in one both while Alex and me sat in the other. The kids were just looking at Marsha's comic books and Alex and I got to know each other more.

It wasn't until we sat together that I noticed she had a black polo shirt with her blazer and black jeans with, believe it or not, tennis shoes.

"What?" Alex asked me catching my eyes.

"Nothing I was just thinking about why I wore a dress instead of jeans." I said indicating her jeans.

"Mm sorry I don't like dressing up except in jeans."

"That's okay, neither do I but someone made me." I said looking at Timmy but all he did was ignore me except I could see his cheeks blushing.

"So um what do you guys have planned after dinner?"

"Um I was going to take Timmy back to his mommy's house."

"Ah no, that can't happen." Alex said as she smiled.

"No, because you two are coming to see Iron Man Three with us." Alex said and Marsha and Timmy looked up and at each other before screaming.

"I don't know I have to ask Sam."

"Please ask her mom, please." Timmy said clasping his hands and pleading me. I looked at Alex and all she did was nod her head so I rolled my eyes and hot my phone out. I was not about to call so I just texted her.

Hey can I keep Timmy for a few more hours?

Yea, how long though?

I have no idea maybe three hours.

Okay, call me when y'all get here.

Okay, bye.

Yes believe it or not even though I did not talk to Sam I did text her to tell her where we were and what time we were getting home but nothing else.

"She said yes."

"Great if we leave now we can get there for the seven one."

"Great lets go." Timmy and Marsha said as they stood up. The waiter came and I was about to pay but before I could Alex handed him her credit card and I just looked at her.

"For being late." Alex said and smiled making me smile too.

"Okay but I'm buying the tickets."

"Nonsense I invited y'all."

"So I'm paying."

"No you are not."

"Yes I am."

"Fine okay you can pay for the tickets."

"Okay." I said smiling and heading out the restaurant and then remembered I didn't have my car.

"Um, I don't have my car." I said and blushed but Alex just smiled and led me to her car, which was a mustang a beautiful 1965 Ford Mustang. It was black and well it was beautiful.

"It's okay we can take mine." Alex said as she opened the door for me. She went to her side and let the kids in before getting in and putting on her Ray Ban sunglasses which I must admit made her look pretty fine.

We drove to the movies and I bought the tickets but she bought the snack, which ended up with me giving her a look, but all she did was wink at me. The movie was pretty awesome even though I wasn't into marvel movies much but hey it was good. The kids were just to happy making them jump and smile and laugh and just stare.

To be honest I enjoyed myself even when Alex held my hand at some point I loved it. I don't know maybe because it seemed like something I imagined with my family and even though we had just met she made me feel good, not in love but happy and warm.

When the movie was over the kids finished their cokes and Alex and I just looked at them talking about the movie and saw how they seemed to have a click you know. Once we got outside Alex opened the door for me again and then for the kids and then she got in but this time she didn't put her glasses on.

"Thank you for taking us Alex." I said and put my hand over hers. I pulled it back and she looked at me winking again. I seriously didn't know what it was about her wink but I just couldn't help but smile and blush.

"Hey um Alex?"

"Could you give me a ride to Timmy's house I have to drop him off." I said as I saw Sam's text.

"Yea, I'd love that way when we hang out again I know where to come if you need me." Alex said and I smiled giving her the directions.

"Mom?" Timmy called my name.

"Can Mars stay at my house?"

"Um I don't know you have to ask Marsha's mom ad your mom."

"Timmy you have to do ask,"

"Okay mom." Timmy said before going back to talking to Marsha. By the time we got to Sam's house Timmy and Marsha were asleep. I texted Sam telling her I was here. I got out the car planning to pick Timmy but with high heels I couldn't but before anything happened Alex was by my side.

"Here I got him." Alex said and reached for Timmy picking him up in her arms just as the door opened. I looked at Sam who seemed to be mad, but I just smiled at her.

"Hey, um Timmy went to sleep."

"Yea I notice." Sam said as she looked at Sam.

"How about I take him to his room."

"Sure let me show you the way." Sam said as she showed Alex the way. I could see that Sam wasn't happy and she was tensed but for what I didn't know. We headed back down and Sam followed us to the car.

"Thanks for taking him out Valerie."

"No problem, oh yea um this is Alexandra but she goes by Alex and Alex this is Samantha but goes by Sam."

"Nice to meet you." They both said as they shook hands. I could see that they were sizing each other. Alex finally pulled her hand and looked at Sam before opening the door for me. I waved goodbye to Sam and saw that she really was mad and Alex just closed my door and walked around to mine. When I looked back at Sam she was already walking away with her back to me. I wonder if this was a good idea or not as I looked at Alex and smiled.
