"Michael what are you doing here?" I asked as I stared at him with an angry look.

"Hey I just wanted to say hi." Michael said as he smiled, it was amazing he turned his angry look into a friendly one that quick.

"Oh hey." I said hoping he would get my hint to leave but I guess not.

"Hey so who's your friend?"

"Um this is Sam." I said as I looked at Sam and noticed the hard look in her face.

"Hello Sam I'm Michael." Michael said as he shook Sam's hand.

"So I see y'all are playing some mini golf."

"Yup we were."

"Well do you mind if we tag along." Michael said as Mary smiled as well and the rest of the group just walked of clearly not interested in what was going on I mean this really has never happened before.

"Not at all, after all it's nice meeting some of Valerie's." I heard Sam say as she moved back to let them take a turn.

"Awesome, the loser has to buy dinner." Mary said as she went first and got a hole in one. This is how our "date" went, we played and played until finally Michael was declared the loser.

"Hey guys I'm going to the restroom, I'll be right back." I said and headed inside to take break. I was planning on going back outside but Michael was waiting for me outside the restroom.

"What the hell are you doing Valerie?" Michael asked me as he gripped my arm.

"Michael let go of me." I said through gritted teeth and he did let go realizing that he had hurt me.

"I'm sorry baby." Michael said as he gave me a quick kiss.

"It's okay but what the hell are you doing here?"

"I just got jealous…"

"Michael since when do you get jealous of others especially a woman?"

"I don't know okay, I just saw you hanging on to her as if you were really enjoying yourself and next thing I know I was storming your way."

"Its just an act." I said as I let some air out.

"I know it is but I got scared okay?"

"No it isn't okay you're always yelling at me that I have to put more effort in it and now you're messing everything up." I said trying to convince him that it was all still a game to me.

"You sure baby?"

"Yes, I mean you know how much I love you." I said even though in my head I felt bad knowing that I was kind off playing him since I didn't fully feel the way I used to feel.

"Okay babe, I'm sorry again."

"Don't worry about it." I said and Michael kissed me again before heading out the door. I waited for a little bit longer before going out as well.

"Hey you took your time." Mary said as she smiled at me.

"Yea well it was a bit crowded."

"I bet, so anyways what are we eating?"

"Michael?" I asked.

"How about some Chinese?"

"Sounds great." Sam said as she came to my side and looked at me before bowing down a bit to whisper something to me.

"You okay?"

"Yea." I said as I smiled at her and took her hand making sure she knew that I was okay. Sam just smiled at me before pulling back up and squeezed my hand for support.

"Okay then the last one to get there gets to pay." Michael said trying to not pay.

"No you my friend are paying." Mary said as she laughed.

"Aw man well I had to try." Michael said as he smiled at me. We decided on which buffet we were going to and then went to our cars. Sam opened my door and let me in before going on her side to get in and start the car. We pulled out the parking lot and I could see that Michael had gone to talk to the group.

"So what happened between you two?" Sam suddenly asked me.

"What?" I asked surprised.

"Come on I won't tell."

"Nothing happened he's just someone from the past."

"Oh and you still like him?" Sam asked as she kept her eyes glued to the rode.

"No not really."

"Cool." Sam said as she turned and smiled at me. I was sitting in the car thinking about what it is I wanted when one of my favorite songs came on, I guess Sam had put some music on.

"I love this song, I hope you don't mind it." Sam said as she looked at me.

"What?" she asked me.

"Nothing I just really love this song too."

"Really, I thought I was the only one who liked this song."

"No you aren't August's Rhapsody is one of my favorites." I said as I began to hum along with it.

"Why do you like it so much?"

"I don't I just enjoy the racing music and then how it calms and picks up again, what about you?"

"Same reason." Sam said as she gave me another one of her amazing smiles.

"So what other kind of music do you like?"

"I don't know all kinds I guess, well except for that rap music that talks about sex all the time and drugs, I just don't like it. Maybe it's because they curse to much or something like that."

"Yea I can relate." I said as I looked out the window smiling at the common things we were beginning to have.

"What about you?"

"The same." I said as I smiled at her.

"Cool, what's your favorite hobby?" Sam asked me.

"I don't know I guess drawing."

"You draw?" Sam asked a bit surprised.

"Yes I draw." I said.

"Oh I didn't think you were the drawing type."

"I didn't use to be until I got into twelve grade."

"Yea, what about you?"

"Um I like to write poetry." Sam said. Okay this time I was surprised I mean I didn't see her as that type at all which is why I couldn't help the small giggle that escaped my lips.

"Aw that's so cute." I finally said noticing the crimson look on her face.

"Yup." Sam said just as we parked. We got out and waited for Michael and Mary. I was just about to ask Sam something but at that moment they finally came.

"Hey you two ready for some dinner?" Mary asked.

"Yea." We both said as we walked inside. We were seated and were asked about the drink we wanted, once the waitress left we all went to get our food. The food was great but the company was not that great. Michael kept asking Sam questions and at times he insulted her and made fun. During those times I asked myself why I liked him so much. It wasn't until a while later that we finally left; we said our goodbyes and Sam waited by my door so that I could get in before going back to her side. I know that she was mad at Michael for being such a jerk.

"I'm sorry about Michael he can be an asshole at times."

"It's okay." Sam said quietly.

"Are you sure?"

"Yea, I just wanted you to enjoy the date." Sam said as she smiled at me with warmth.

"I had fun." I said but I knew that I didn't sound that convincing.

"Hey um I want to show you one last thing, that is if you aren't in a hurry."

"I'm not."

"Okay then, be prepared to meet more of my world." Sam said as she made a U- turn and headed to some place I didn't know but suspected that I would love never the less. I looked at Sam and couldn't help but smile and yet be sad at the same time. She was finally opening up to me; problem was that I wished she wouldn't so that I couldn't hurt her in the end.
