"Dad!" I screamed as I came rushing down the stairs only to bump into my father who looked frightened and worried.
"What's wrong Tonya?" My dad asked me worried that I was hurt and in a way I was.
"This is what's wrong." I said pointing to my chest. My dad looked at me confused and then I sighed and pulled the shirt tighter against me showing him the little bumps.
He looked at me and then he started laughing at me and I just stood there with my hands over my chest.
"Dad! I don't see how this is funny." I said as I followed him into the kitchen where he was cooking dinner.
"You have finally hit puberty, Tony its life." He said as he flipped the steak.
"But dad I don't want them, I start my sophomore year in one week and now I have to deal with this." I said.
"Girls go through it all the time Tony you aren't about to die."
"But I am dad, cant I just like I don't know cut them off or something?" I asked as I went to the knife board.
"No, you can not and get away from there." My dad said as he gave me a look.
"Ugh but dad this isn't normal I have to call the hospital and tell them things are growing on me."
"Ha-ha, Tony you have to understand that no matter how much you dislike it you are a girl and you have boobs." My dad said as he blushed making me blush too. I hated the fact that my dad had to go through this but he's always been a great father and mother ever since my mom died in a motorcycle accident.
I thought about how strong my dad was for me. He didn't give in to alcohol or anything bad he always stayed strong for me and no matter what happened he was always there.
"Look Tony the best thing I can do for you is buy you bra…"
"Don't even say it dad! La la la I cant hear you." I said and stood up running to my room wear I shut my door and began to cry. Yes I a sixteen-year-old tomboy began to cry because I finally hit puberty.
I must have dozed of at some point because I didn't wake up until my dad was knocking on the door.
"Hey baby girl, are you okay?"
"Yea, I guess so." I said and wiped my tears.
"Um I know you don't want this and this might be embarrassing but I want you to be prepared." My dad said as he handed me some pads, which I literally wanted to burn, but knew my dad was right I would need them someday. I know I was a late bloomer but I wish I never even gotten close.
"Thanks dad." I said and hugged him as I began to cry again. My dad was crying too and I knew why he was. This was supposed to be my mom's job. She was supposed to be here helping me out and I didn't have that and he felt bad because of it.
"Welcome baby girl now come on and eat I think the steaks are pretty much cold now." My dad said as he stood up and wiped his tears.
"Okay dad." I said and then walked downstairs and sat down with my dad to eat.
The next day the blood came and let me tell you I about had a heart attack but soon enough learned what helped me and stuff like that. Luckily by Sunday afternoon the visitor was gone and I was left to think about the bra that I would have to wear.
I woke up extra early on Monday and made sure I took a long shower before changing into some blue jeans and then I put on my bra and I was putting on my tee shirt next when I thought of a brilliant idea. I took the tee shirt off and the bra and headed back to the bathroom.
I opened the cabinet and rummaged until I found the first aid kit then I took the gauze bandage out and wrapped it around my chest and then made sure it was secure before running back to my room to put my tee shirt on.
I went back to the bathroom and noticed that with the bandage I basically had no boobs, which of course made me jump with happiness. I put on my hoodie on next and then I headed downstairs with three notebooks, a black, blue, and red pen. Something you should know about high school in case you didn't know is all you need is a notebook and something to write with. Anyways when I went downstairs my dad had breakfast ready for me.
"Mmm pancakes." I said as I sat down and waited for my dad to finish cooking the last one before coming to sit down, as soon as he sat down though we both dived in.
Once we were finished we put our dishes in the dishwasher and then sat down to relax a bit before he went to work and I went to school.
"So how the…um thing work out."
"Oh um I didn't use it I used a gauze bandage."
"Ha-ha wow, aren't you smart."
"You know it pops." I said and smiled as I looked at the clock and then groaned in frustration it was time for me to go.
"Well got to go dad." I said and gave him a kiss on the cheek before going to my car, which was a silver jaguar xf. Honestly I wish I had a more um country looking car because as far as I could tell I was the only one with a car like this in this place. Everyone else had a truck and they weren't that new either.
It didn't take long for me to get there but when I got there everyone was already there. And let me tell you, being the new kid in town and having a car like mine made me feel like…well like the center of attention. I took a deep breath and put my headphones on and sunglasses, because my royal blue eyes made people uncomfortable, before getting out of my car and walking to the front doors.
I wish I could say that people minded their own business but I'd be lying because everyone was staring, and that made me very uncomfortable.
I went directly to the office because everyone had gotten their schedules and all that during the summer but me so I had to see the principal and all that. There was no orientation or anything like that. So I walked in with my head down and stopped at the front desk.
"Hello how may I help you?"
"Um I'm here to get my schedule."
"Oh right Miss McLane." The lady said as she looked at me as if she was surprised that I was a girl.
"Okay here we go, oh and before you go could you step into the principals office?"
"Sure." I said and walked in only to find a big man sitting behind the desk.
"Aw Miss Tonya McLane, welcome to my school."
"Okay so my name is Principal Allen and I will tell you all the rules." He said and soon enough he was babbling about the rules while I silently listened to my music.
"Great so are we clear?"
"Totally." I said and smiled before getting up to leave only to have him stop me again.
"Miss McLane, your glasses they need to come off." The principle said as he looked at me.
"Please take them off, I don't want you to get in trouble the first day."
"Fine." I said and took them off before heading to my locker. I put two of my notebooks in the locker before going to my first period class, which was U.S. History. When I walked in everyone was already in his or her seat and every single pair of eyes were looking at me.
"Miss McLane, nice of you to join us, please have a seat next to Delilah." The teacher said as he motioned for the only empty seat in the room, which was next to a blonde cheerleader.
I sat down and looked up to find everyone staring at me, which of course made me, blush and then everyone went back to paying attention to the teacher. I opened my notebook and began to scribble on it until class was over. In the end of class everyone was handed their book and then we left.
I went directly to my locker only to find it blocked by the cheerleaders. I was contemplating whether or not I should say something but then they moved when that cheerleader, Delilah I think, walked by and hooray for me she was my locker neighbor.
"Excuse me." I said and luckily they all moved and let me put my book up. I closed the locker and turned around to leave only to find Delilah in my way.
"Hey you're the new chick."
"Yea." I said and then moved past her, and went to my second class, which was Latin.
Okay so when the town announced that there was a new teenage her in town and a father I expected someone girly since they did move from California but I was wrong. Instead of getting a girly girl we got a tomboy.
The moment I laid eyes on her I knew that there was something interesting about her not to mention the car she was driving was pretty hot. The girls and I went to class and luckily for me the new girl sat next to me.
I knew I staring at her but I couldn't help it. I mean there were tomboys in this town but this girl seemed different. I looked at her face and her jaw was perfect bone structure, I didn't get a chance to see her eyes though and for some strange reason that bothered me.
I saw her scribbling her notebook until class ended and then she headed to her locker, which luckily for me was right next to mine. I was happy and I knew anyone could see it. My girls were in her way though so behind the new girls back I made motions for them to move and they did once I walked towards them and the girl followed but all the girl did was put her book up and then she appeared to be leaving.
Without much of a thought I blocked her way though and began to just talk. I had no idea what I was saying because her royal blue eyes had me mesmerized. All I remember hearing was yea before she walked away.
Had it been someone else I would have been pissed but strangely I was okay that I was just ditched by the new girl I just shrugged though and turned back around to my girls and began to talk before going to my next class. The only thing in my head though were the royal blue eyes.
