PART 25: APPETIZER
This is Las Vegas. The city of sins. The city of endless pleasure. The city of endless possibilities. And also the city where it all will end. Where else would be a perfect place to operate as a devil if it's not in this city?
Master is here. The six of them arrived at the city on a late afternoon sky. They will not waste anymore time because Gabriel had been watching the devil. Master will only be here until tomorrow. After tomorrow, he will go elsewehere to infect human's mind with evil. So tonight is their chance to strike him.
Master owns a hotel named 'The Devil's Inn' accomodated with a casino here. It is a 24 storeys building. The ground level is the casino called 'The Devil's House', the upper floor is the receptionist and lobby of the hotel, and the peak of the hotel is a penthouse. Master will be in his penthouse.
The plan is easy. Gets into the elevator and push the button of the highest floor. But little do they know that Master had been anticipating their arrival and he had prepared them with an appetizer before they get to the main dish.
They passed by the casino on the ground floor easily. There are many humans getting lost in the games and money. Humans' lives are short. So most of them just wanted to enjoy their lives as long as they're still alive.
As they reached the first floor of 'The Devil's Inn', they saw two receptionists behind the counter. They are entertaining two angry-looking customers. It would probably be due to some dissatisfaction about the hotel. Whatever it is, it's none of their concern because they need to get to the farthest elevator on the west wing of the building since that would be the only elevator that would take them to the penthouse.
But as they get into the middle of the hotel's lobby, they can sense something's wrong and halted. "I can't smell fresh blood from these people, Jerome," Gabriel said suddenly.
Jerome nodded. "They don't smell human," Jerome stated.
At that, everyone in the lobby including the hotel's workers and customers had their eyes on the six vampires. The look in their eyes are of evil. Their faces immediately turn ugly with two tiny poking horns appearing on their foreheads.
"They're demons," Elizabeth said in a rush and hurriedly turns into mist. She then reappears at the whereabouts of the enemies and slash their stomach open with her long fingernails. She's now in her vampire form. So as the others.
"Guard the violin, brother," Dasmond said to Alexander. Alexander understood what he meant because in the violin case he brought lies the 'Sword of Archnea'. It must not be found out by them. He nodded to Dasmond and quickly joins the fight.
They managed to kill every last one of them in the lobby but as the seconds passed, Damond can hear footsteps coming down from the floors above them. "There are more," he said to his comrades based on his super inhuman hearing. "There's too many of them," he added.
"Cover your ears," Luna suddenly ordered. They understand what she's about to do so they abide her order. They cover their ears right there and then. Luna opens her mouth to sing. She sings a slow haunting melody that echoes through the hall and up the floors. Her singing only will effect the areas she selected. She excluded the casino because there are humans down there. She just focuses on the living things above their floor.
The sound of the footsteps stops soon after. Luna stops singing too. "Death siren, should've done that earlier, Luna," Gabriel commented cynically. Death siren is Luna's ability. The internal organs of the enemies will burst from within by hearing her singing voice. That's what happened to the demons upstairs. They now reached the elevator's door. It's just a botton away to be pushed for their revenge...
