Chapter Twenty Seven
Gabe hauled the last bag out of the bus and wiped his forehead. Thanking the bus driver, he handed Jordan the packed up tent, gave Phoebe the smaller backpack, shoulder the last bag and led the way home. He unlocked the door and dropped his bag thankfully. After four days of almost non-stop sight-seeing, walking and cycling, even Jordan's athletic body was feeling the strain. Bailey popped out of the kitchen as Jordan dropped the tent, making them all jump in surprise. Phoebe giggled.
"Hi." Bailey scampered over and hugged Gabe tightly, before kissing Phoebe and hugging Jordan before he could protest. "Did you have a good time? What did you do?"
"Everything," Jordan groaned, going into the kitchen to make a cup of tea. "What's all this?" He called through a moment later.
"What's what?" Gabe asked, going into the kitchen. A large, beautifully iced cake was settled in the middle of the table, surrounded by nibbles and drinks. Mini sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, neatly cut sandwiches of every kind Gabe could think of, mini spring rolls and vegetable rolls. "Did you do this?" He asked Bailey.
"Yep." Bailey hugged him from behind.
"Well, it was just a little thing to say thank you for having me while I tried to get things sorted." Bailey said cheerfully. "And the cake's for you. Phoebe mentioned it's your birthday next Saturday, so I thought I'd get you a nice cake." Gabe twisted to face him, surprised.
"That's… sweet." He managed finally. He was embarrassed to find himself almost overcome with emotion. "Thank you." He kissed Bailey gently, before turning back to the table. "Well, the twins get back at five, so I think we should all have showers and get changed, and we can have dinner with them." Jordan nodded agreeably and disappeared upstairs immediately. Phoebe went for a shower before Jordan could get in the bathroom, and Gabe and Bailey laughed to hear them arguing upstairs. Bailey pulled Gabe down onto the sofa and kissed him softly. Gabe smiled and nuzzled Bailey's neck affectionately. Bailey's tongue flicked lightly over his ear, making him shiver. "I know what you're planning." Gabe smiled. "Is it alright if I just lie here and let you do the work? I'm knackered." Bailey giggled and nipped Gabe's neck gently.
"Sure." Someone cleared their throat in the doorway.
"Before you get started, can I watch TV until Phoebe's done in the shower?" Jordan was grimacing in the doorway, his eyes averted from them.
"We're not naked or anything." Gabe said, sitting up with a sigh. "You can look at us."
"Yeah, well, I never know with you two." Jordan grumbled. "You're worse than a pair of rabbits." Bailey scoffed indignantly.
"We are not." He said firmly. Gabe just smiled and settled on the sofa, leaning against Bailey. When Jordan wasn't looking, Bailey leant down and nipped Gabe's neck. Gabe squirmed and shot Bailey a look.
"You want to get him angry?" He whispered in Bailey's ear.
"Nope. I want to make you squirm." Bailey snickered softly. He bit Gabe again. Gabe prodded his stomach firmly.
"Stop it." Gabe hissed. Jordan shot the pair of them a look. They gazed back innocently. "What?" Gabe asked. Bailey nipped his earlobe sharply. Jordan groaned, and got to his feet.
"Forget it." He grunted. "If you're going to go at it like a pair of sex-starved hamsters, I'm leaving." They watched him stalk from the room, scowling, before bursting out laughing. Gabe sank back against the arm of the sofa and wiped his eyes.
"It is too much fun, making him mad." Bailey ruffled Gabe's hair affectionately. They passed the time waiting for Phoebe and Jordan to finish showering, making out on the sofa, trying to stifle their moans.
"Shower's free Gabe… in case you need to cool off at all." Jordan shouted down the stairs.
"Cheeky." Gabe called back. He disentangled himself from Bailey's limbs, which were still trapped around his body, and headed upstairs for a quick shower.
