The next morning Brian's mom knocked on his door to wake the boys up. "Brian! Steve! Wake up."
Brian opened his eyes and looked into Steve's deep blue eyes. "Why hello there."
Steve smiled and pulled Brian's head to his. Their kiss exploded like an atomic bomb. The heat was three times hotter than the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There kiss was interrupted when Brian's mom flung open the door. They pulled apart and Brian fell out of the bed.
"Good! Now that you're both up, you should get dressed and stuff and leave for school." She left as soon as she had come, knowing they would have another steamy embrace before they reached school.
After they had gotten dressed Brian looked at the clock on his wall. He judged the walk to school to be about twenty minutes. They had a full hour yet. That would be perfect, for they could meet with Brian's friends or Steve's. Brian made a mental note to ask Steve. When they hit the street Brian asked Steve if he wanted to hang out with his friend's or Brian's.
Steve never made a sound. He knew his friends were not going to accept him or Brian, and Brian was adorable. Brian was so excited to be going to school with him. Steve was very excited to show off his new boyfriend, but he didn't believe everyone was as nice as they seemed. He knew in fact that people were not nice, since he had been one of those people just last year. Steve remembered one kid he and his friends had picked on. God what was that kid's name? For the life of him, he couldn't remember it.
Brian turned to look at Steve and saw his bland stare. He stopped Steve and turned him so their eyes would meet. "Steve is something wrong?"
"No Brian. Everything is great." He pulled Brian into a melting embrace and finished it off with an equally melting kiss. Just as they smiled to each other the bell rang, announcing five minutes till class started. Brian smiled and said goodbye to Steve and hurried off down the hall.
Steve watched Brian walk away with his heart running behind him to keep up. He wished he could go with Brian but he had to hope his heart could defend Brian. But Steve turned and walked the opposite way to his next class.
