I Might Need You...

Chapter 1: Ryu

It's been eight years since they left. Eight years of pain, poverty, and depression. Of course, I didn't get it as bad as my brother had. Being the oldest and caring for two younger siblings can be tough, on top of keeping up your grades. I pity him sometimes, but I can't mostly only because he acts like a twelve year old boy high off of chocolate. So a lot of the times I feel like I'm most responsible, but then again I'm never home to known as 'responsible'. I hate it here, it's nothing but garbage and people like us. I used to live in a nice neighborhood, where I didn't have to worry about if I'll die or anyone else I live with. Yes, that's how bad this place gets. I can't wait to get out of this Hell someday, somehow.

Chapter 2: Takashi

I walked past the pet store today, for the seventh time on my way home this week. I go there to see a gray kitten that I don't have a name for yet. She's small and gray with ocean blue eyes. She's a keeper, and I want her with me at my home. My house isn't lonely, but it's small and I live with someone I considered to be my brother. It's just us two in a tiny apartment splitting the rent and barely making it by. But I don't mind. I don't even complain, because I choose not to. After my 'visit' with the kitten, I passed a boy. The same height and possibly the same age. His eyes were grayish blue, jet black hair in a messy style. He's been here and I know this since he passes the pet store the same time I do. He's been here for a long time, just a little after I did. I made little eye contact with him as we passed each other at the same time.

Chapter 3: Ryu

It's that boy again stalking the poor kitten in the window. The gray fluffy one. I could see him from a mile a way since his red hair stands out like a black jet in the morning sky. He may have been my age as well, but he's a bit shorter than I am. I've never seen the kid talk, or even socialize for that matter. He never talks, or that I know of. All I have observed in my eight years here is that he sees the kitten, drools over it for a couple minutes, and then he'll walk to probably the best apartment complex in this poor, rundown city. It's a small city, you're bound to figure out someones daily schedule one way or another. I had stuffed my hands into my pockets and passed him. I know he looked at me since we caught the smallest of eye contact. He seems unusual, and I happened to find that quite interesting.
