Seito sat down on his sofa, placing his cup of tea down onto the coffee table. He ran a hand through his long silver hair, gazing up at the ceiling tiredly. His blood red eyes glared fiercely at the extravagantly decorated ceiling as he parted his black dressing gown to expose his pale chest. He reached out to take his cup of tea and brought it onto his lap, stirring it with an absent mind. His trance was broken when someone knocked on his bedroom door and he stared at the door lazily before requesting the person to come in. He grimaced softly when he saw that it was his fiancée before turning away to listen to what she had to say to him. The younger brunette walked up to him and sat down on the other side of the coffee table with a smile.

"Good evening," she said when he didn't say anything for a while.

Seito closed his eyes and tipped his head back.

"Is it really a good evening?" he asked and when she opened her mouth to answer he raised a hand to silence her "It was a rhetorical question."

The woman closed her mouth slowly and eyed him hungrily.

"How are the wedding preparations?" she asked eagerly.

"If my memory recalls correctly, we decided to wait until summer so we could have the ceremony outside by the coast," Seito replied with an annoyed twitch of the brow "Preparations will not begin until the first signs of spring."

The woman ducked her head sheepishly with an embarrassed blush.

"Sorry."

Seito sighed as he sipped his tea then placed it down on the coffee table abruptly.

"I think it would be time for me to retire early for the night," he said and stood up.

"Oh, goodnight!"

The brunette bounced up to her feet and leaned up to kiss Seito. Seito turned away so she only kissed his cheek and waved her off. A hurt look flashed across her beautiful brown eyes before she sauntered out of the bedroom. Seito let out a tired sigh as he let his dressing gown fall off his body to reveal his nudity. The black garment fell onto the plush sofa as he walked over to one of the large windows. He grimaced softly when he saw across the dark pine forest the spiral of chimney smoke from the small cottage not far from his mansion. That cottage was the home of a young woodcutter that had caught Seito's eyes and interest. It was just painful to know that he had to marry a woman for his parents to be happy with him and give him the family inheritance. Seito had told himself so many times that he would give up that inheritance just to be with that young woodcutter but the family reputation came back into his mind. His parents would be looked down on if anyone ever discovered that their eldest son was gay. Seito let out a painful gasp. Life was just too cruel.
