Dream of Me Instead of Him

At night I feel her screams

Ringing through my ears

I feel the pain of a lingering knife

I feel her flowing tears

She cries for him, still screaming for him

Her pain in every scar

I feel every drop of blood she spills

As i gaze up at the stars

Middle of the night and she cant sleep

I wish she'd close her eyes

I hope it's me she sees when she falls asleep 

I hope she'll be just fine

I wish I'd could make him dissappear

The scars left on her heart

I'm always there, even at night 

Our hearts will never part

When she is alone, Im secretly there

Holding her tightly in my arms 

I'll kiss away her nightmares

And keep her safe from harm

I hope she'll sleep each night

And feel me next to her

I'll wipe away each tear that falls

I'll be the safest cure

She'll look at me and then at night

I'll protect her as she sleeps

I'll fill her ears with loving words

And be there in her dreams
