Gay in The Morning

Poetry By: frog
Gay and lesbian

Imagine waking up in the morning and instead of thinking you are hungry for pancakes you think about all the activism you need to prepare for as a GLBT activist.

I stretch and roll over.

Still alive.

How to survive?

Another day!

I am greatful.

No one killed me for being gay.

I'm not in Uganda.

I am in America.

I can still talk about it.

There is still time to speak and save.

My mind begins warming up.

I grab cold pizza from last night in the fridge.

I boot the computer.

I find a robe.

Gorge on pizza.

My mind thinks of the split between religion and sexuality.

I begin preparing a speech in my head and visualize a class of bigots in front of me.

How do I connect to them I ask.

Engineering students....

Sexuality is like physics.

Like Chemistry.

Sexuality is complicated.

Confusing.

Difficult.

Many variables.

Chemistry.

Water and alkaline like Christianity and Sex.

An explosion.

Where to go from here.

I log onto twitter and I write a little qoute.

Those words a short document of me.

My activism.

My pizza gone.

I forgot I had even eaten.
