I wish to God that I could forget you,
Forget every kiss, touch, embrace and word,
Every time the world looked brighter when you walked into the room,
Every time it seemed it would last forever,
Every time it didn't,
Every harsh word you didn't even know you said,
Every word you did,
Every time you would build me up just to knock me down,
Every time I called on you for help,
Every dream you invaded,
Every tear I shed that you will never know,
Every bike ride that I cursed my heart,
Every ride that I sang of my love,
Every rainstorm that swept everything away,
Every one that didn't,
I wish I could forget you,
Go back to when everything was clear,
Before the lines of love became blurred,
All the traces washed away in the rain.
