Alexa Knight, Chief Soren, Caden Soren, and an old police partner of Alexa's, Gwen Badmen, all work at their local police station. Alexa and Caden, children of the Chief, was promoted to Assistant Chief. Though the siblings constantly fight like cats and dogs, they still managed to take care of their team members and bring down the bad guys. Alexa's best friend constantly tells her how it's time for her to find a girlfriend even though Alexa denies she has feelings for the same sex. When Chief Soren asks Alexa to interview a potential candidate named Alison Wolfe, everything starts to change. Alison and Gwen battle on the field of danger and for Alexa's love. This fun and action-packed screenplay will want you reading and finding out more about each character's personalities and secrets.
(This story still needs work, but this is the the second to final draft until I get some feedback.) Hope you like it!
Note: I wrote this story as a request from someone I knew. Though I don't talk to this person anymore, I guess it doesn't hurt to show the world my story anyways. :)

Chief:

What do you two think of this one?

Picture of Alison Wolfe.

Caden:

Ex-army. Flew drones. Twenty-five. Physically fit. No convicted felonies. High honor roll student. Blonde hair, pretty yellow-green eyes, soft-white looking skin--

Alex:

Dude, you're supposed to look at her experiences and skills, not her looks.

Caden:
Are you saying no Alex?

Alex:
That's exactly what I'm saying. Look at her picture. When she smiles, she looks ditsy as hell. She's going to be a distraction and I'm not here to babysit. But you can have her if you want.

Caden:
You're so judgmental. You're not even going to give her a chance?

Alex:
I know exactly why you like her. You think she's cute.

Caden:

Dad, can you put some sense into her?

Chief:
Alex, he's right. She has everything we're looking for.

Alex:

No, she has everything you're looking for. I want someone that at least looks tough. She doesn't look intimidating at all. She's…too cute to be an officer.

Caden:
Oh, so you think she's cute too? (Smiles)

Alex:

Caden, shut up. Anyways, I don't want her. You can have her. I'm going on lunch now. I'll talk to you later, Dad. (Leaves the room)

Caden:

Dad, I'll gladly take Alison in for an interview and-

Chief:
No Caden. She's for your sister to handle.

Caden:
But Dad, you heard her. She doesn't want her.

Chief:
I don't want you taking Alison on dates either. Now go get lunch. And get me a sub. Thanks.

Caden:
This is so unfair. I swear you favor her. (Leaves and slams the door)

Chief:

Geeze. (Picks up a picture frame on his desk) Why did you leave me with two monkeys? (Picks up the phone and makes a phone call)

Alison:

Oh my gosh! Yes, I would love too! When would you like me to come in? Right now? Of course! I just need to get ready. I'll be there in less than an hour. Thank you, Chief. Talk to you soon. Yup, Buh bye.

Alex:

(Talking on the phone)

Yeah, can you believe him? He purposely gives me all the girls because he knows Caden would take all of them on dates.

Jamie:

Are you saying that you wouldn't?

Alex:

What the hell you talking about?

Jamie:
Don't tell me you forgot that night you took that girl home from the club!

Alex:

Jamie, you were a friend of my friend. You don't count. And I did you a favor by taking you home. You we're a thirsty freakin' mess.

Jamie:

Okay, but you did end up taking another girl home though.

Alex:
Jamie, that was your friend. And we watched movies. It still doesn't mean anything.

Jamie:
Girl, you're bi and you know it. Shit, your Dad even knows it.

Alex:
Jamie, if you don't shut up, I'm going to--.

Jamie:

Ohhhhh, I'm so scared Alex. Let's kiss and make-up, kay? Haha.

Alex:
I'm going back to work. Bye.

Jamie:

Okay, love you.

Alex:
Bye.

Jamie:
Come on! Say it back!

Alex:
Ugh. Love you too. And stay the hell out of trouble. (Hangs up and returns to station)

Gwen:

Hey, Chief.

Alex:

For the last time, I'm not a Chief yet. I'm his assistant.

Gwen:
Okay, LC.

Alex:
LC?

Gwen:

Little Chief.

Alex:

Oh wow.

Gwen:

Creative right? And quite catchy. LC.

Alex:
Anyways, what's up?

Gwen:
Oh yeah, Chief told me to tell you to prepare to interview a candidate.

Alex:
Do you know who?

Gwen:

He didn't say, sorry.

Alex:
It's okay. Just send them to my office then. Thanks.

Gwen:
Alright, LC.

Alex:
Thanks PIMA.

Gwen:

PIMA?

Alex:
Pain in my ass.

Gwen:
You're mean LC.

Alex:
I know. Now get back to work. (Winks)

Gwen:
(Talks to person getting water next to her)
She wants me.

Person walks away shaking her head.

Alex:
(Filling out paper work and sees Alison Wolfe on top of the list) Didn't I tell him--
(Hears knocking on the door) Come in.

Alison:

Good afternoon Chief. I'm here for the interview. I hope I didn't keep you waiting.

Alex:
Uh, no actually. I didn't even know you were supposed to come.

Alison:
Oh, Chief Soren didn't mention anything?

Alex:
Don't worry. He does this to me all the time. Have a seat.

Alison:
(Takes a seat)
Does what all the time?

Alex:

Makes me interview people at the last minute or without warning.

Alison:
Oh, I see. I'm sorry.

Alex:

(Goes through paperwork)
It's not your fault. Anyways. I'm going to skip the mumbo-jumbo and ask you a couple simple questions. Ready?

Alison:
Yes I am.

Alex:

Why do you want to be a police officer?

Alison:
I want to protect the defenseless.

Alex:
Very good.

Alison:
Thank you.

Alex:
Last question. How do you feel about carrying a gun and possibly having to take someone's life?

Alison:

It's part of the job and I will do whatever it takes to protect the citizens.

Alex:

(Pulls out a gun from her desk)

Pick up this gun and aim it at me.

Alison:
What?

Alex:
Pick it up. And aim it at me. Is that so hard?

Alison:
No ma'am. (Picks up the gun and aims it at the Chief)

Alex:

You're shaking. How on Earth are you supposed to defend others Alison?

Alison:
I'm sorry Chief. I just didn't prepare for this part of the interview.

Alex:
That's the thing. When you're out there, you can't prepare for anything. You just gotta be ready.

Alison:

You're right. If we waited for when we were truly ready…nothing would ever get done.

Alex has a flashback of when her ex-girlfriend Karina said the same thing. Alex comes back to reality.

Alex:
Yeah…I give you props on actually picking up the gun and pointing it at me. Others walked right out and thought I was crazy.

Alison:
Well, this is definitely uncalled for. But I got the message.

Alex:
Good. Chief Soren will give you a call to let you know when you start.

Alison:

Really?!

Alex:
I don't believe it either. If I don't hire you, Chief will have my head. You have everything he's looking for.

Alison:
Thank you! I won't disappoint you.

Alex:
Alright. You have a good day Miss…Wolfe.

Alison:

You too Chief…Knight. (Smiles and leaves)

Alex:
(Calls Chief Soren)

Are you happy now?

Chief:

You're gonna train her first thing tomorrow morning.

Alex:
You're kidding me.

Chief:
Why don't you get to know her? Take her to dinner and prepare her for tomorrow.

Alex:
Isn't this against regulations?

Chief:
You can't have dinner with a co-worker?

Alex;
I don't know Dad, you know the regulations more than I do.

Chief:

Exactly. So make sure you meet up with her tonight.

Alex:
Dad, this is stupid. Why don't you tell Caden?

Chief:
Because you interviewed her. Okay, I need to go now, bye hun.

Alex:
This day can't possibly get any worse. (Gets up and leaves the office)

Caden:

How come you always get the girls?

Alex:
I don't get anything. If you want her, talk to Dad.

Caden:
You know once he makes up his mind there's no changing it.

Alex:
Well, I can't help you there bro. Sorry.

Caden:
Heard you're gonna have a dinner date with her.

Alex:
You and Dad. She probably had a boyfriend before she left to the army and they're probably happily reunited now. Now please shut up and move on.

Caden:

Are you listening to yourself? A girl, in the army, a boyfriend back home? No. No way she's completely straight.

Alex:
You even said it yourself. You might have a chance. Now stop bothering me. I gotta set up an appointment with her.

Caden:

If you can ask her if she is single and wants to mingle and tell her I'm available, I'll love you forever.

Alex:

I'll pass.

Caden:

Come on sis, help a brother out!

Alex:

You're annoying. I gotta go. (Leaves the station)

Gwen:

Leaving so early LC?

Alex:

I gotta take the new candidate to dinner and prepare her for tomorrow.

Gwen:
Wait, what?

Alex:

Orders from the Chief.

Gwen:
That's crazy.

Alex:

He's crazy.

Gwen:
Alright, I'll catch you tomorrow.

Alex:

Yep, have a good evening. (Get into her car and calls Alison)

Hey, Alison. What are you doing?

Cut scene to Alison's house. She is getting ready for the dinner. Alison's friend Brenda is over.

Alison:

Oh my gosh, Brenda! What am I going to wear?!

Brenda:

I don't see what's so serious. You're meeting with your Chief.

Alison:
You don't understand. She's beautiful.

Brenda:

Right.

Alison:

Seriously. Like, her eyes. They were just so…alluring. I think you'll like her too.

Brenda:
You know I only like girls with brown eyes, dark hair, tan, tall, and cute.

Alison:
She has all of that! And more.

Brenda:

Lies! No one that perfect walks this Earth. Haha.

Alison:
Seriously! I'll introduce her when she comes.

Brenda:

You better hope this ain't true because, I'll claim her if she is.

Alison:
Oh, no. She's mine.

Brenda:
No, no, no, you owe me remember?

Alison:

What? When?

Brenda:

That night you went to the club and was all thirsty and got all wasted to the point I couldn't hang out with that hot girl because I had to take care of you. Remember?

Alison:
Oh come on. Are you really gonna hold that against me?

Brenda:

Yes!

Alison hears a honk outside. She looks out the window and sees Alex in the car.

Alison:
Crap! She's already here!

Brenda:
Girl, I gotchu covered. While you were busy talking about how beautiful she was, I picked you out an outfit.

Alison:
Thanks, you're a life-saver.

Alex grows impatient and knocks on Alison's door.

Alison:
Dang. Brenda. Can you go down and tell her I'll be done in a second?

Brenda:

Can I invite her in and do things to her?

Alison:
Now you sound mega-thirsty.

Brenda:
Okay. Just messin' around.

Alison:

Thank you.

Alex:

Seriously. I called ahead of time. (Knocks on the door)

Brenda:
Geeze, are you that thirsty that you tryna break the-oh.

Alex:

Sorry. I've got the wrong house.

Brenda:
No, this is Alison's house. She's just finishing up. Please come in.

Alex:
Oh, no. It's fine. I'll wait in the car.

Brenda:
No, no, she insists. (Grabs her arm) Come in. Have a seat. Don't be shy.

Alex:

Yeah…thanks.

Brenda:
No problem. (Just stares at Alex intensely)

Alex:

(Feeling uneasy)

Uhm…is there something on my face?

Brenda:
No. You're just…so beautiful!

Alex:

What? Me? No…thank you though.

Brenda:

Oh, girl…you need to be a little more confidence in yourself.

Alex:
Uhm…I-hey. "On the Move". You reading this?

Brenda:
No. Alison's the bookworm. She is in love with this author's writing.

Alex:

Well, she is a good writer.

Brenda:
I mean…how good can she be? They didn't even put her picture on it. And I don't know what kind of name is: A-Nite. Anyways. Where were we? Ah yes. You're beautiful and need to have more confidence in yourself.

Alex:
Umm…

Alison:

Brenda! You're creeping her out.

Alex:

(Amazed by Alison's outfit, make-up, and hair)
Oh, wow.

Brenda:
You've been saved by the beautiful lady.

Alison:

I'm sorry. I hope she didn't scare you too much.

Alex:

Oh, no. I'm used to it. Uhm…let's go.

Alison:

Okay. I'll be home later Brenda. Stay out of trouble.

They close the door behind them and get in the car.

Alex:

Your friend. She's uh…interesting.

Alison:
I'm so sorry. She can be out there sometimes.

Alex:
It's okay. Though...if you can ask her not to stare me down next time, that'll be great. Totally feels uncomfortable.

Alison:
Yes, I will.

Alex:
So, where would you like to eat?

Alison:

Anywhere is fine. I'm not picky.

Alex:

I want you to choose.

Alison:
I'm not good at deciding.

Alex:
Not something I like to hear from someone about to be a cop.

Alison:
I'm sorry. Uhm…how about Italian?

Alex:
Well, you're one expensive date aren't you?

Alison:
I'm sorry! We can go somewhere else.

Alex:
No, it's fine. Sometimes, the decisions we make can be at a high-cost. Can't keep apologizing for them Alison.

Alison:
I know, it's a bad habit.

Alex:
No, I'm not saying apologizing is a bad habit. It's just better to apologize when the time is right.

Alison:
I understand Chief.

Alex:
Off the clock, you can call me Alexa. Alex for short.

Alison:

Okay. If so, you can call me Ali. (Smiles)

They arrive at "Amore", best Italian restaurant in town.

Alison:

Amore? Oh, no, we don't have to go here.

Alex:
It's my favorite place. Come on. (Gets out the car)

The two go inside.

Hostess:
Hi, how many? Oh Chief! How are you?

Alex:

I'm doing great. Thank you. Yourself?

Hostess:

Oh, just great. Two?

Alex:

Yes, please.

The hostess walks Alex and Alison to their table by the large fish tank.

Hostess:
Enjoy your meal.

Alex:
Thank you. (Smiles)

Alison:
I've always wanted to sit here! But no matter how many times I try, I can never get it! Even when I try to get it reserved!

Alex:
You gotta know people, that knows people, that knows important people, to get this spot dummy.

Alison:
You must be very important.

Alex:

Indeed. Minus the fact my best friend owns this place.

Alison:
Who's your best friend?

Alex:
Jamie Springer.

Alison:

I know her! She used to go to high school with me! I knew she looked familiar. We were always battling for Valedictorian. We were like enemies. She won by a smidge. But after that we were cooler than penguins.

Alex:

I see. So you're her friend?

Alison:

We were, but then she got really busy and we haven't really talked. You two seem closer though.

Alex:
I suppose. She's like a fan. Haha.

Alison:
Oh! Talking about fans. Have you read the new book "On the Move" by A-Nite?

Alex:
Umm…no. Why?

Alison:
It's so good! I've read all her books! I wish I knew what the author looked like though. But I guess her being mysterious makes it all the better!

Alex:
I'm more of a writer myself. Not a reader, but enough chit-chat. I'm starving. Order whatever you want. Don't be shy.

Alison:
If you say so! Thanks!

The waiter comes and takes their order. Then the scene cuts to the station.

Caden:

Murder on 4th and Front Street. I don't get it. Last week it was 3rd and Front. And the week before that was 2nd and Front. The locals say the only thing suspicious was a young man buying a drink or sandwich every morning and night at some kind of shop and would sit there for couple hours at a time for the whole week. Then, he was gone.

Chief:

If this pattern continues, this killer might strike on 5th street next. He's making it a little too easy. Must be an amateur. Or a psycho.

Caden:

I guess. By the way, where's Alex?

Chief:
I gave her the rest of the day off to prep our new officer.

Caden:
I don't see you ever letting me do things like that.

Chief:

Son, you know damn well why I don't. You're good on the field, but off of it, you're a playboy. When are you gonna get it together?

Caden:

Dad, it's not like that!

Chief:

Anyways, get our men down there, scope the area, and get an updated report okay? Thanks.

Back at the restaurant with Alex and Ali.

Alex:
When I said enjoy a couple drinks, I didn't mean six Ali.

Alison:

Oh, I don't feel a thing.

Alex:

(She can tell Alison is slightly tipsy)

Your tolerance level is unusually high. Did you drink a lot prior joining the Army?

Alison:

No. But I partied a bit when I was younger.

Alex:
I see. Same here. But I can't hold my alcohol. Hence, I'm always the designated driver.

Alison:

That's so cute. Haha.

Alex:

I think you should stop drinking Alison.

Alison:
Oh, come on. Once I'm on the job, I won't ever be able to drink.

Alex:
Oh gosh.

Alison orders a few more drinks.

Alison:
I remember the first time I was here. I was with my girlfriend.

Alex:
Oh. Like a friend that is a girl.

Alison:
Sure.

Alex:
Oh, I'm sorry.

Alison:
It's okay. I just miss her.

Alex:
What happened to her, if I may ask?

Alison:

Things just didn't work out.

Alex:

Oh. I'm sorry. (Alison starts to cry) Uhm…let's go.

Alison:
(Wipe tears)
No, I'm fine. I swear.

Alex:
No, let's go. Please. Check please!

Alex helps Alison into the car and then gets into the car herself. She buckles in Alison's seatbelt for her. Alison stares at her with admiration.

Alex:

I can see that you're an emotional drunk. Not my favorite kind to deal with.

Alison:

No…it's only at this restaurant. The memories won't disappear. No matter how hard I try.

Alex:

(Puts on her seatbelt and then starts driving)
Sometimes, instead of fighting them, just let them be. Fighting it only hurts more.

Alison:
You seem to know a lot about things like this. You sure you picked the right career? You'd probably be a great psychologist.

Alex:

I did read a lot about how the mind works and how to handle pain and memories. But a psychologist? Not for me.

Alison:

Did you read anything about forgetting someone that just completely broke your heart?

Alex:
Heartbreaks are the worst. The mind can't distinguish it from physical pain. You just gotta accept the fact things are over, cry the tears you need to cry and then move on.

Alison:

You're right. It's just…she was so perfect. Smart, beautiful, kind…just perfect. I don't understand why she would always say I deserved better.

Alex:

That's the damaged one. She has these impenetrable walls she placed around herself. She thinks they protect her from looking and feeling weak, but in reality, all it's doing is separating her from loving herself and others. And this cycle continues until they realize, they're holding themselves back from happiness.

Alison:
That life sounds so miserable.

Alex:
Exactly. That's why she was never able to truly love you. Her walls didn't allow you in or her out to reach for your love. And sometimes, the hardest fact we gotta accept in these kinds of situation is, we may not be the one to change them. So, there's no use on dwelling on it.

Alison:
You're right Alex. I guess…I just needed closure.

Alex:
I'm sure she is not the same person you used to love anyways. It's the past and you can't change it. Just learn from it and carry on.

Alison:

You're absolutely right. Do you have any walls Alex?

Alex:
What kind of question is that?

Alison:
I don't know. You seem so tough and hardcore…I feel like you have walls and a fort around you.

Alex:
I don't have walls. A fort is different from walls.

Alison:

Tell me how.

Alex:

A fort helps defend your well-being. Walls…they just isolate you.

Alison:

(Gets sleepy)

Hmm…you're right once again.

Alex:
I'm gonna take you home now, kay?

Alison has already passed out. Alex drives Alison home and once they arrived, Alex tries to wake Alison up, but she wouldn't budge. Not knowing what to do, she just stares at her, admiring her beauty. She takes off the seatbelt so she is more comfortable.

Alex:
Don't worry. You'll find someone that'll truly love you…and protect you.

Alex goes to the door to see if Brenda is home. She knocks several times and Brenda left a note right next to the door saying she's out on a date. No need to wait for her. Alex doesn't think she should keep Alison in the car sleeping, so she carries Alison in and puts her on the couch. She sees a blanket and tucks her in. She contemplates whether to leave her or stay until she wakes. Fearing something would happen, Alex stays. She searches the kitchen for hot tea to help sober her up. The tea's fragrance is so strong, it slowly wakes Alison up.

Alison:

Oh, how did I get here?

Alex:

(Comes out of the kitchen with hot tea)
I told you to stop drinking.

Alison:

Alex? What time is it?

Alex:
It was time for me to go home a long time ago. But you kept me here for another three hours.

Alison:
I'm so sorry.

Alex:
It's okay. I should get going. It's getting late. (Stands up)

Alison:

(Stands up)

Wait.

Alex:

Yes?

Alison:

I know it may sound weird, but can you please stay a little longer until Brenda get home? I wanna talk some more. I still feel like I need to prepare mentally.

Alex:

I get that a lot. I don't know what you people see in me and wanna pour your hearts out to me. But if you think it will truly make you feel better, I'm here. (Smiles)

Alison:

(She walks up to Alex and hugs her with tears)

Thank you.

Alex:
Uhm…you're welcome.

Alison hugs Alex tighter and keeps crying. Alex eventually hugs her back hoping she'd feel better. Alex notices her heart beating faster. She slowly lets Alison go, but that only made Alison hug her tighter. Alex holds her again and then speaks.

Alex:
You better let everything out tonight because, you're not gonna be able to hug me anymore after this dummy.

Alison:

(Slowly lets go and then stares into Alex's eyes)

Thank you.

Alex:
You're welcome.

Alison:

I'll call Brenda to see when she's coming home so you don't worry.

Alex:
Alright.

Alison calls Brenda and she doesn't pick up.

Alison:
That's odd. She didn't pick up.

Alex:
Do you want me to-

Alison:
No, you don't have to stay longer. I'll be fine.

Alex:
Okay then. You sure you gonna be okay by yourself?

Alison:
I'll be fine. I've taken too much of your time today.

Alex:

Alright. Good night Ali. See you in the morning.

Alison:
You got it.

The next morning comes and Alex and Alison arrive at the station at the same time. Alex was on her phone and Alison was reading some documents while walking. They bump into each other.

Alison:
Oh! I'm so sorry Chief!

Alex:
Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going.

Alex helps Ali pick up the papers and as soon as they stand up Alex looks straight into Ali's eyes.

Alex:
Alison, you look like you didn't get any sleep at all.

Alison:
I just look like this in the morning when I don't have time to get ready.

Alex:

Are you sure? I don't think so. Was it because you were afraid of sleeping alone?

Alison:

What are you talking about?

Alex:
Ali, I'm not dumb.

Alison:
(Hesitant)

Okay…Brenda didn't come home last night. But I didn't want you worry.

Alex:
Ali, I could've stayed or you could've came over. Jamie's friend is also a friend of mine.

Alison:
Thank you. I just didn't want to be a burden.

Alex:

Ugh…come on. I'll show you where you can take a nap.

Alison:
What?

Alex:

(Pushes her along) Come on.

They go to Alex's office.

Alex:
There's a ton of things I can do in this room. It's a great place to nap because no one ever bothers me. So if you need to nap, just say I asked you to do paperwork.

Alison:
Oh, sleeping on the job? Couldn't I get fired?

Alex:
Not if I'm around. Anyways…just lay down over there. I'm going to do paperwork. It'll take a while so…take a good nap and don't worry too much.

Alison:
I don't want you to get in trouble though Chief.

Alex:

Look, this isn't the first time and it sure as hell won't be the last. Now sleep.

Alison:
Okay. Thank you.

Alison passes out almost immediately from fatigue. Alex sits there and glances over to Alison to look at how cute she is.

Alex:

(Thinks in her head)
I swear. This girl might just get me in trouble. (Gives off a little laugh)

Alex gets up to use the bathroom. But before she does, she noticed Alison looks cold. She grabs a little blanket and tucks her in once again. The she leaves the office. Caden sees Alex leave and then decides to snoop in Alex's office. He sees Ali sleeping on the job and he seizes this opportunity.

Caden:
Sleeping on the job I see.

Alison:

(Startled)

What? No! I mean…I was napping, yes, but it's not what you think.

Caden:
Look, it doesn't matter what your reasons are. You can't be sleeping on the first day on the job!

Alison:
I know. I just had a rough night, Chief.

Caden:

How about this. I pretend this never happened. All you gotta do is go on a date with me.

Alison:
Oh, I-

Caden:
Unless you want me to report to the big guy upstairs that you're sleeping on the job.

Alison:

No! Please don't!

Caden:
Okay then. Tomorrow at 7. I'll pick you up at your place?

Alison:

O..okay.

Caden:
Great! It's a date! I'll see you then! (He grabs for the door and as he opens it, Alex was standing right at the door waiting for him.) Oh my--! Geeze, Alex, why do you gotta scare me like that?

Alex:

I believe tomorrow, you have a date with the Chief with a presentation regarding the murder on 4th and Front Street.

Caden:
I'll get it done today.

Alex:

Don't think about taking her anywhere. She's got better things to do than to go on a date with you.

Caden:
You always gotta take things from me dontcha Alex?

Alex:

Please leave my office.

Caden:
Gladly. (Slams the door behind him.)

Alex:
Geeze, I use the bathroom for two seconds and he's in here trying to get in your pants.

Alison:

I'm sorry. I don't mean to make you guys fight.

Alex:
We fight all the time. It's normal.

Alison:
I think I should get to work now. That nap was great. Thanks Chief.

Alex:

No problem. I'll call Gwen to get you.

Alison:
Alright.

Alex:
(Calls Gwen)
Hey Gwen. Your partner is in my office. Yup. Thank you. Bye.

Alison:

What am I gonna be doing today?

Alex:
Take you on a couple routes, the shooting range, some self-defense seminars and then probably somewhere good to eat.

Alison:
Oh. Sounds fun.

Alex:
I'm sure it'll be easy for you. I remember reading you had a black belt in Tai-Kwon Do.

Alison:
Yes I do.

Alex:
I have one too, but a different style. Haven't sparred in awhile. I probably should get back in it.

Alison:
I can spar with you! (Excited)

Alex:
Nah, I don't want to embarrass you.

Alison:
What do you mean?

Alex:

Nothing. (Smiles and does paperwork)

Alison:

Are you saying I'll lose to you?

Alex:

(Innocent smile)
That's exactly what I'm saying.

Alison:
Do I hear a challenge?

Alex:
If only you were a challenge. (Winks)

Gwen overheard the conversation and butts in.

Gwen:

Oh hellllll no. You gonna let her talk to you like that Ali?

Alex:

Gwen, stop instigating!

Alison:
Haha. Well…I guess I should get going. Thanks for helping me out earlier with your brother.

Alex:
No problem.

Gwen:
He was trying to ask you on a date didn't he?

Alison:
Yeah.

Gwen:

Don't feel bad. He tried with me too. Awkward guy.

Alex:
Okay ladies. Get going.

Alison:

Yes ma'am. (Walks towards the door)

Alex:
(Calls her before she is about to leave)

Hey Alison!

Alison:
Yes?

Alex:
We're gonna spar later on. Make sure you're ready.

Alison:
I'm always ready.

Alex:
Right, it's easy to be ready to lose.

Alison:
We'll see about that. (Winks)

Gwen:
Okay, y'all can stop giving each other "googly" eyes. Makes me sick.

Alex:
Gwen, don't be jealous.

Gwen:

Jealous? Please. We outta here new girl.

Alex:
Have fun.

Alison gives off a warm smile to Alex and then goes off. Alex sits and just ponders over Alison.

Chief:
Hey, daydreamer!

Alex:
Yes?

Chief:

I heard you let the new girl nap in your office.

Alex:
She had a rough night. Looked like a zombie when she walked in here.

Chief:

You must really like her.

Alex:
What are you talking about? I can't care about my team?

Chief:
No, it's not that. She seems really sweet. It's a shame her girlfriend dumped her.

Alex:
How did you know about that?

Chief:
Caden wanted me to find out if she was single. I'm sure she felt awkward when I asked her.

Alex:

Caden...

Chief:

Anyway, she seems really nice, you should--

Alex:
Dad. I know nothing about her.

Chief:

Oh come on.

Alex:
Dad, please. A good girl like that won't be single, for long. I'm too busy to date, okay?

Chief:
I'll give you less hours.

Alex:
Look, I'm not interested. End of story.

Chief:
You're not interested? I highly doubt that.

Alex:
If you don't have anything serious to talk about…do you mind if I get back to work?

Chief:

Honey. Listen. You're 23 and haven't had one relationship work out yet.

Alex:
Dad, what do you think? Have you seen my job and the things I do? People are afraid of me.

Chief:

Well then Alison should be perfect. She knows what she's getting into with you.

Alex:
It's a bad idea and you know it. Even if things worked out and she was perfect, when it comes down to everything, I'll be biased. We can't have that.

Chief:

I just want you to be happy. Think about it. I'll talk to you later.

Alex watches her father leave the room and then puts her head down on the desk. Back with Gwen and Alison, they're at the self-defense seminar. Alison perfects every move and wasn't required to stay the whole seminar.

Gwen:
You're good Ali.

Alison:
Thanks. You're not too bad yourself.

Gwen:
Ehh, I've been doing this a little longer than you have.

Alison:
I see.

Gwen;
Anyways. I'm curious. It looks like you and LC there are hitting it off pretty well.

Alison:

LC?

Gwen:
The "Little Chief", Alex.

Alison:

Oh, LC. I get it.

Gwen:
She let you sleep in her office, she doesn't do that for just anyone. I had to beg her to let me sleep once.

Alison:
Really?

Gwen:
Yeah, really.

Alison:
That's really kind of her. I should thank her later.

Gwen:

Nah. Just give her a kiss. She'll like that better.

Alison:

What?

Gwen:
I'm kidding. She's mine. I'm warning you new girl.

Alison:

Message received.

Gwen:

I like you. You're a smart cookie.

Alison:
Thanks.

The two continued with the rest of their day at the shooting range, cruising around, and then getting something to eat at a nearby sandwich shop. Gwen and Alison order sandwiches and Alex happened to walk in a little after them.

Alex:
Hey, didn't know you guys were gonna be here so soon.

Gwen:
We weren't, but she's good at everything. I figured there's no need to waste anymore time.

Alex:
Alright, well, I'm gonna head back to my office now. I'll catch you girls later.

Gwen:
Bye!

Alison:

Drive safe!

Gwen:
Gosh…her body is just so…fine.

Alison:

I swear everyone drools over her. Even my friend Brenda was.

Gwen:
Uh, hello. That's Chief Alexa Knight. Her name alone is hot.

Alison:

True.

Gwen:
Wait a sec, are you saying, you're not drooling over her like the rest of us?

Alison:
What?

Gwen:
You don't think LC is hot?

Alison:
I think she is a beautiful woman inside and out.

Gwen:

Right. Just watch out. You'll probably fall for her before you even know it.

Alison:
I think…I already did.

Gwen:

Oh no honey. I'm going to be her lady.

Alison:

Wait, Alex is single?

Gwen:
Yeah. She hasn't been in a relationship in awhile. She's dated, but things never worked out. I remember her being devastated over some girl that wasn't even all that cute.

Alison:
So she's like…bi?

Gwen:
Not everyone knows that, but yeah. She claims it was a onetime thing.

Alison:

Gosh, she seems so perfect. Why wouldn't things work out?

Gwen:
Because someone like Alex, needs to be chased after. She ain't coming to you.

Alison:
I guess I'll have to come to her then.

Gwen:

Didn't I say she is mine?

Alison:
That's not fair, Gwen.

Gwen:
Tell you what…we'll have a friendly competition to see who can win her heart first.

Alison:
Love isn't a game, Gwen.

Gwen:
Well, how else you suggest we deal with this? There's only one Alex and two of us.

Alison:
I…I don't know.

Gwen:
Okay then. Friendly competition it is. Good luck. And let's get the hell outta here, that creepy guy is checking you out.

Back at the office, Alex eats her sandwich slowly as she looks up homes for sale. She hears a couple knocks on the door.

Alex:
Who is it?

Alison:

It's Alison.

Alex:
Come in.

Alison:

Do you have a moment?

Alex:

(Still typing on the laptop)
I have a couple moments. What's up?

Alison:
I wanted to ask you if…

Gwen:
She wanted to ask if you had time to go out to dinner with the two of us tonight.

Alison:
Huh?

Alex:
Gee, I'd love too, but I'm busy. Another time, okay? (Smiles)

Alison:
Okay, sorry for bothering you.

Alex:

Oh no, not at all. I'll talk to you guys later.

The two exit the room.

Alison:
That wasn't cool Gwen.

Gwen:

What are you talking about?

Alison:

You know exactly what I'm talking about.

Gwen:

Oh, back at LC's office?

Alison:

Yes.

Gwen:
Hey, it's a friendly competition remember? We never established any rules.

Alison:
Oh, so we're playing like that huh?

Gwen:

Yup.

Alison:
Fine.

Gwen:
One rule though.

Alison:

What?

Gwen:

LC can't know we're playing this game, deal?

Alison:

Obviously, but deal.

Alex:

What game guys?

Alison:

Chief!

Alex:
I wanna play this game too. What is it?

Alison:
It was uh…"Spot the Creeper".

Alex:
Really?

Alison:
Yeah, for example at the sandwich shop this morning there was a guy that kept staring at us.

Alex:
Oh really? Describe him then. Maybe it was Caden. Haha.

Alison:
No, he looked really weird…he wore a red shirt and black pants. And this weird blue necklace. And he just kept staring and had such a creepy smile.

Alex:
Oh, so because someone likes to stare at a pretty lady, they're a creeper?

Alison:

No…but-

Gwen:

You're so nosey LC!

Alex:

Haha. Anyways. I need you two to come with me. Just received a call. A body was found on 4th and Front.

Gwen:

Alright. We'll meet you there.

Alex leaves with her crime scene attire.

Alison:
That was close.

Gwen:

I'll say. Let's go.

Caden and Alex arrives at the crime scene first. And then everyone else finally arrives at the crime scene.

Caden:
Geeze, that's one heck of a fall.

Alex:

Wait. That's Brenda.

Caden:
Yeah, how'd you know?

Alex:
Long story. What's the info on her?

Uh…Brenda Sunder. Caucasian. Twenty-four year old female. Occupation, bartender.

Alex:
Damn. (Talks under her breath) Alison isn't going to be happy about this.

Caden:

Doesn't look some kind of force was used on her. Suicide maybe?

Alex:

Can't be. It looks like she was drugged and then thrown off this roof to make it look like a suicide.

Caden:

True. By the way, you know this victim?

Alex:

I met her once.

Caden:
What? How?

Alex:

She's Alison's friend.

Caden:

What?! Then tell her not to come!

Alex:
It's too late. They'll be here any minute.

Caden:

Damn…

Alex:
It's part of the job. If she can't handle it, it's not for her then.

Caden:
You don't gotta be so insensitive ya know?

Alex:

Mom got murdered right in front of my eyes Caden. I don't think I'm being anything, but realistic.

Caden sees Alison and Gwen pulling up. He runs over to Alison to talk to her.

Caden:
Alison!

Alison:
Yes, Chief?

Caden:

You should leave until we're done.

Alison:

Why? I'm ready for this. Don't worry.

Caden:

No, you're not ready for this.

Alison:

I'll be fine. (Gwen and Alison both walk over to Alex)

Alex:

(Turns around and sees Alison)

Alison…

Alison:

What do we have here?

Alex:

I suggest you listen to Caden and get back to the station.

Alison:
Why? You guys don't trust that I can handle it?

Alex:
It's not that.

Alison:
Well then let me take a look. (She walks over to the dead body. She is still far, but then was able to recognize her friend's face) BRENDA! (Runs to the body)

Gwen:

(Grabs her)
Whoa! Calm down! You'll tamper the crime scene!

Alison:
NO! BRENDA!

(She fights to get Gwen off of her, but then Caden grabs her also)

Caden:
Ali! You need to calm down!

Alison:
My best friend is dead!

Caden:
Look! You have to stay calm. We'll find out who did this. Don't worry.

Alison sits down on the floor and tries to calm down. Alex slowly walks over with the thought of comforting Alison, but she stops dead in her tracks. She notices the same guy Alison had described earlier that had stared at her creepily. Red shirt, black pants and blue necklace. He holds a bottle in his hands, stares at Alex and gives off a creepy smile. Then he turns around and starts to walk away. Alex, feeling as though he is a suspicious character decides that she needs to interrogate him.

Alex:

Hey! You! I need to ask you a couple questions.

Caden, Gwen, and Alison see Alex walking towards the man. The man then runs.

Alex:
Hey! Don't run!

All four of them chase after the man, but the other two took a different direction to hopefully cut him off. Alex finally catches up and points her gun at him.

Alex:
Stop or I'll shoot!

The man has both hand in the air with his back faced Alex.

Alex:

Get down on your knees!

Instead of doing so, the man pulls out the bottle and throws it at her. Alex's first reaction was to shoot the bottle. She covers her face as the bottle shatters on her. Some shards were lodged in her arms and a couple on her face. Alex screams as she falls to the ground. He walks up to Alex getting ready to attack. Alison runs up just in time behind him and knocks him out. Gwen and Caden were also right behind her. They arrest the man. Gwen requests an ambulance.

Alison:

(Holding Alex in her arms)

Chief, are you okay?!

Alex looks at her, gives off a little smile and then passes out from the pain.

Alison:
Chief! Wake up!

At the hospital, Alex slowly wakes up and sees Gwen.

Gwen:
LC! I'm so glad you're okay.

Alex:
Gwen? What happened?

Gwen:
Well, long story short, you chased after a man that didn't want to cooperate with you and then he threw a bottle at you, you shot it, and shards of glass got lodged into your body.

Alex:
Did you guys catch him?

Gwen:
Yes. He's being interviewed at the station now.

Alex:
How about Alison? Is she okay?

Gwen:
She's fine.

Alex:

Did the doctor tell you how long I had to be here?

Gwen:

They said you lost a bit of blood and after removing the shards, they want you to stay a couple days to make sure everything is okay.

Alex:

(Touches her face)
I got some on my face too?

Gwen:

Yeah, Mainly your arms though.

Alex:

Stay here for two days? I'll be bored to death. I can't do that.

Gwen:
Don't worry. I'll visit you LC.

Alex:
Thanks. I could use the company.

Gwen:

No problem. But I do have to return to the station, but I can come back at five.

Alex:
No, it's okay. Don't worry about me. Get your job done and relax.

Gwen:
I can't stop worrying even if I tried LC.

Alex:
Haha. I appreciate your concern. I really do.

Gwen:

Thanks. I'll be back later, kay?

Alex:
Sounds good. And please make sure Ali's okay. I know it's not easy see a best friend like this.

Gwen:
Don't worry too much. Take care. (Leaves hospital)

Alex grabs her cellphone and answer her Dad's call.

Alex:
Dad?

Chief:

Yeah, how are you doing hun?

Alex:
I'm alright. You?

Chief:
I'm not the one in the hospital bed, that's for sure.

Alex:

Funny.

Chief:

You want anything to eat?

Alex:

No, I'm fine. I'm gonna rest though. Talk to you later.

Alex hangs up on the phone and then closes her eyes. The Chief then calls Alison.

Chief:
Hello. Alison?

Alison:

Yes, Chief?

Chief:

Are you busy right now?

Alison:

Well, Gwen said she wanted to stop by. Other than that, not really. Why?

Alison listens to the Chief's request on Alison visiting Alex. Gwen is at her house getting ready to see Alison and she received a text saying she had to leave for an emergency. Alison goes to the hospital to see Alex. Alex hears the door open and wakes up from her nap.

Alex:
Alison?

Alison:

I'm sorry, did I wake you up? I tried to be as quiet as possible.

Alex:
No, my senses are just a little…more sensitive, I guess.

Alison:

How are you doing?

Alex:

I'm good. You?

Alison:

I'm fine.

Alex:
What brings you here so late?

Alison:

Chief wanted me to drop by to see if you were okay.

Alex:
I'm fine.

Alison:
Good.

Alex:
Anything else?

Alison:
Yes. Uhm…Gwen mentioned about a girl you used to date today. I'm curious about it.

Alex:
It was a onetime thing.

Alison:

Was this person…your girlfriend?

Alex:

Yes. Dead ex-girlfriend.

Alison:

Oh my, what happened?

Alex:

Well, we were out and about. Someone came into the restaurant with a fully loaded gun demanding all the money from Jamie's restaurant. I told Karina to take cover as I pulled out my gun…shots were fired…someone was about to shoot from behind me…and she…she took the bullet for me.

Alison:

She must've loved you a lot.

Alex:
Yeah. She was everything to me. I only wished…I knew how I could've saved her.

Alison:

Don't be so hard on yourself Alex...you tried your best and that's what matters most.

Alex:
My best wasn't good enough…

Alison:

Stop blaming yourself. I'm sure that's what your girlfriend wants.

Alex:

I don't know.

Alison:
It'll be okay. I promise.

Alex:
Thanks.

Alison:

No problem. But it's getting late and…I think I should head home.

Alex:

Leaving already? Are you sure you can sleep alone in your apartment?

Alison:
I will don't worry. And these streets can get dangerous. So it's best to leave earlier than later.

Alex:
You're right.

Alison:

(She grabs Alex's hand as she speaks)

Sleep well. (Kisses Alex on the forehead)

Alex:

Let me walk you out. I'm afraid…something might happen to you.

Alison:
Don't worry. You need to rest. I'll see you first thing in the morning.

Alex:

Before you go, can you get me a snack at the vending machine?

Alison:

Sure! Anything else?

Alex:

And a…bottle of water. Thanks.

Alison:

No problem. Be right back.

As soon as Alison leaves, Alex finds her clothes on the chair and puts it on and lies under the blanket. Alison comes back with food and a drink.

Alex:
Thank you, I owe ya.

Alison:
Nah…just take me out to dinner again sometimes.

Alex:

I will, good night.
