Alison leaves with a warm smile. Gwen pulls into the hospital parking lot wanting to visit Alex. She was able to sign in and as she walked to Alex's room, she saw no one.

Gwen:
Damn!

Gwen knew that Alison had visit. Gwen assumes that Alex would leave if someone was in trouble and therefore leaves the hospital immediately to find Alex. Alison is outside walking towards her car when two men came up to her.

Thug #1:

Uhm, excuse me Miss. We're lost. You mind giving us directions?

Alison:

Oh, I would, but I'm not from around here. I just came to visit a friend. I'm sorry.

Thug #2:
Well, you mind givin' us a ride?

Alison:

I would, but my car is a two-seater, sorry. (Steps closer to her car door)

Thug #1:

It's okay…I'm sure we can all fit.

Alison:

What?

The thugs give off a sinister smile and step closer to Alison. Alex grabs her gun in the glove compartment hides behind a car. She show signs of still being weak, but tries to pull it together.

Alex:

Excuse me, I'm lost. Can any of you guys give me directions? (She winks at Alison)

Alison:

I would, but I just got done telling them I wasn't from around here either.

Alex:
Oh really? Darn. Well…I guess I'll have to ask someone at the gas station.

Thug #1:

(Starts to pull out some kind of weapon from behind)

That's probably the best idea.

Alex:
Hey, no need to get violent.

The first thug pulls out his knife; the second thug chokes Alison from behind also with a knife. Alex pulls out her gun.

Alex:
Let her go!

Alex takes a step closer.

Thug #2:
You come any closer and I slit her throat, ya hear!? Drop the gun!

Alex:

No! Drop the knife and let her go! Or I'll kill both of you!

Thug #1:
No deal, pal!

Alex:
What do you want? Money?

Thug #1:

Give us all your money and we'll take her car and leave in peace.

Alison:

You can't have this car! This is a gift from my parents! It's the only thing I have left. Please just take our money and leave us alone.

Thug #2:
Shut up! And put down the gun!

Alex:
Fine! I'm doing it just…ease up on her neck will ya?

Thug #1:
Put your hands behind your head.

After a moment of silence, Alex signals Alison to head-butt the thug. She does as commanded and she grapples and throws the thug. The other thug punches Alison in the face and she falls to the ground. Alex runs to the thug and fights him. The other thug then gets up from the ground and continues you choke Alison.

Thug #2
I'm gonna kill you, bitch!

Alex sees Alison being choked and runs to her. The thug grabs her by the jacket, and Alex spins out of the jacket, sweeps his legs and gives him an axe kick to the stomach. She then runs to Alison and knocks the thug off of her. Alex helps her stand-up.

Alex:
Are you okay?

Alison coughs a few times and said she's fine. Both thugs then get up and start walking towards Alison and Alex. Alex spreads her arms out not allowing any harm to come to her. Gwen then comes out with a gun and the police.

Gwen:
Hands up or we'll shoot!

Alex was relieved by the presence of Gwen.

Gwen:
Hey trouble-makers.

Alex:

Surprised?

Gwen:

We're you the one that called dispatch?

Alex:

Yeah.

Gwen:

You two, down on the ground. Men, go get them.

Alex:
Let's go Ali.

Alex walks over to Gwen. But then feels dizzy and faints. Gwen catches her.

Gwen:

You okay, Alex?

Alex:

Ugh…

Gwen:
Come on, let's get you back on the bed. Boys, help Chief inside.

Alison:

She gonna be okay?

Gwen:

She should be. Don't worry too much. You should go get checked out. There's a bit of a bruising around your neck.

Alison:

You're right.

Alison walks towards the hospital and gets checked out. The doctors said she should stay overnight to make sure everything is okay. Gwen then goes into the room to see Alex.

Gwen:

I swear you can never stay outta trouble, Alex.

Alex:

I can't wait to get out of this place.

Gwen:

You'll get out in the morning. I'll come get you, don't worry.

Alex:
Thanks. You be careful out there okay? We dunno how many of them weirdos are out there.

Gwen:

I'll be fine.

Alex:
I'll see you in the morning then.

Gwen:

Yup, night LC.

Alex:
Night.

Morning comes and Alex is finally released from the hospital. She still has a couple band-aids on her face from the glass shard, but she has healed for the most part. She asks the receptionist if a girl name Alison Wolfe has been released yet. The receptionist said she hasn't and tells Alex what room she's in. Alex goes into the room and sits next to Alison. She just stares at her with mixed feelings. She then tries to reach for Alison's hand, but Alison starts to wake up and Alex acts cool and just plays with her phone.

Alison:

Oh hey, you're okay.

Alex:

I've been fine. You're the one that's okay.

Alex sits in silence looking down at the ground.

Alison:

Thank you.

Alex:
For what?

Alison:

Protecting me.

Alex:
I didn't do anything.

Alison:

Didn't do anything? You got up out of that hospital bed of yours and saved my life!

Alex:

I guess…

Alison:

I'm fine now, you should look happier than that.

Alex:
I'm trying. It's just…if something happened to you…

Alison:

Then what?

Alex:

Then…I'd…uhm…

Alison:

Yes?

Alex just stares into Alison's eyes with a bit of nervousness. But then she continues to speak.

Alex:

I'd get in a lot of trouble with the Chief.

Alison:

Oh. Is that all?

Alex:

Huh?

Alison gives off a giggle and simply looks away.

Alex:
Anyways…Gwen should be here soon.

Alison:

Aww, really? I was just enjoying my alone time with you.

Alex:

(Shocked and embarrassed)

What?

Alison:

(Grabs Alex's hand)

I said: I was enjoying this.

Alex:
(Stares at Alison's hand holding onto her's)

Oh…uhm…thanks?

Alison:

Alex, you're getting red. You okay?

Alex:
Huh? Oh, I'm fine! It's just really hot in here…I'm gonna step out and get fresh air okay?

(Starts to stand up)

Alison:

(Grabs onto her hand and pulls her back)

Wait!

Alex:
(Loses balance)

Whoa!

Alex lands with arms spread right over Alison. Alex landed really close to Alison's face and just stared into Alison's eyes. After a short moment of staring…Alex gets back up and apologizes for almost squishing her.

Alison:
It's okay. I'm sorry. I was afraid to be alone.

Alex:

No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't leave you alone…especially after what happened last night.

Alison gives off a happy grin from the fact Alex cares so much about her. Then there was a knock on the door. It was Gwen.

Gwen:
Hey trouble-makers. Ready to go?

Alison:

I've been ready!

Gwen:
Alright, let's go then.

Alex follows them out and just stares at Alison. And then Gwen. She lets out a sigh and continues walking. Alex notices Gwen looking tired and not into it this morning.

Alex:
Gwen?

Gwen:
Yeah?

Alex:
You look like you haven't slept, you okay?

Gwen:
Nothing ever gets pass you huh, LC?

Alex:

I guess not. What happened?

Gwen:

I was just thinking a lot.

Alex:
Here, let me drive.

Gwen:

You know how to drive stick?

Alex:
Are you kidding me?

Gwen:
Do ya?

Alex:

I'll give you a few lessons.

Gwen:
You sure you can drive with your arm like that?

Alex:
I'll be fine. As long as I don't go too crazy.

Alex shows up and takes the girls for a spin. Just right as they were about to enter the highway, they reach a red light. Another car pulls up and the guy in the passenger seat hits on them.

Male Driver:

Hey Sweeties, how can I get your number?

Gwen:
We're not interested. Thanks though.

Male Driver:
Ahhh, come on! Can't handle all of this?

Gwen and the passenger begin to argue and Alison speaks to Alex.

Alison:

Hey Alex.

Alex:
Yeah?

Alison:
I think this is a good time to teach them a lesson.

Alex:
Thought you'd never ask.

Male Driver:
How about you cutie?

Alison:

I'm a lesbian. No thanks!

Alex:

(Shocked)

What?

Male Driver:
Fine! What about you then?

Alex:

Me?

Male Driver:
Yeah, you seem badass. Driving stick and shit.

Alex:

Thanks. I find myself a badass too.

Male Driver:
Oh yeah? Prove it!

Alex:

How?

Male Driver:
You know where the mall is?

Alex:

The Lightning Mall?

Male Driver:
Yeah! First one there is a badass. And the loser buys dinner.

Alex:

What do we get if we win?

Male Driver:

(Pulls out a small wad of cash)

This will be yours. Unless you want something else.

Alex:

I'll let you know if I think of something else.

Male Driver:
Don't need to think too much. You ain't gonna win anyways.

Alison:
I wouldn't be so sure pal! This girl right here will kick your-

Alex:
Alison! Chill!

Alison:
Sorry, sorry, sorry.

Gwen:
You are just a little too much sometimes.

The male driver revs his engine and so does Alex.

Gwen:
LC, you're not really gonna race this guy are you?

Alex:
Yeah, why not?

Gwen:
Uhm, we're cops, we're supposed to be enforcing the law.

Alison:
Oh, I forgot about that. Maybe we shouldn't race.

Alex:
It's a good idea. Trust me.

Gwen:
Please tell me how.

Alex:
When I win…not only will I get the cash, I'm going to ask him to hook me up with the real races. That's where I can make a big bust and take a couple weeks off work and go on vacation.

Alison:

(Amazed by Alex's plan and intelligence)

Wow…you're good.

Gwen:

What if he doesn't do the big boy races, huh?

Alex:

If he doesn't, I'm sure one of his boys will. With his attitude, I'm sure he does.

Alison:
My money's on you Alex!

Gwen:
You think my car is really gonna win against his?

Alex:

It just depends on who's shifting. But we'll find out soon enough.

Gwen:
Don't mess up the engine yo! I don't have money to fix it.

Alison:

Oh, you're worrying too much Gwen.

Gwen:

Oh gosh.

Both cars rev up their engines and within seconds, the light turns green and they're off. Alex tires screen and leave behind a little smoke. She shift to second gear, maxes it out and then shifts to 3rd. The mall was only 3 miles away off the highway and the two cars are neck and neck. They then continue to cut others off the highway and Alison is screaming with excitement while Gwen sits back and holds on to dear life. Finally, the mall is in site, but the guy is ahead of them.

Alison:
Oh no! We're gonna lose!

Alex:
No, we're not.

Alex takes a shortcut. The male driver doesn't see them in site and gets excited.

Male Driver:
Huh? Must've chickened out!

Alex arrives at the mall and the male passenger sees them.

Male Driver:

What the-!?

He breaks hard and parks.

Male Driver:
How'd you do that?

Alex:

I'm just good like that.

Alison:

Yeah! She's just good like that!

Gwen:
I feel sick.

Male Driver:

Not bad. You get some brownie points. Here's the cash.

Alex:

Nah, I don't want the cash. I want in on the races bro.

Male Driver:

I don't know about all that.

Alex:

You said I can pick what I want and that's what I want.

Male Driver:

Street racing is a dangerous thing. Pretty girls like you should be in the kitchen cooking.

Alex:

I don't wanna play anymore games, get me in like you said, or else.

Male Driver:
Or else what?

Alison:

Trust us, you don't wanna know.

Male Driver:
Alright. I'll tell you what. You beat me in one more race and I'll give you double the cash and let you in on the big races.

Gwen:
And if she loses?

Alison:
Which, she won't.

Male Driver:

She gets nada. Nothing. Zip.

Alex:

How about this…you tell me where all the races are and I don't put you in jail.

Male Driver:

What? Stop bluffing. You ain't no cop.

Alex:

(Shows her badge)

Officer Knight. I can get you for wreckless driving, illegal street racing, and much more.

Male Driver:
Whoa, whoa, whoa…okay. I'll do whatever I can.

Alison and Gwen look at each other. Another officer arrives. He cuffs the male driver.

Alison:

She's good.

Gwen:

That's why we're older and working for her.

Alex:

Alright. I found out there's gonna be something big in the city tomorrow night and I need to ask for a Yoshino.

Gwen:

Did you get a last name?

Alex:
No. No one knows it. We're gonna hold him so he can't contact the other racers.

Gwen:

I'm guessing you said you're gonna make a deal with him?

Alex:

You know I'm a fair person.

Gwen:

Yeah. If fair means he gets to pick which cell he wants.

Alex:
He races to feed his family. I said he's better off being a mechanic.

Gwen:
Oh, I'm surprised.

Alison:

Are we gonna race again!?

Alex:

Haha.

Back at the station Caden looks through some files. Alex walks in.

Alex:

Hey. You busy?

Caden:

What's up?

Alex:

Big race late tonight in the city. I don't think my skills are good enough to beat them.

Caden:

Oh, so you want me to race?

Alex:

Yup. Win the race. Gain respect. Arrest everybody.

Caden:
Look Alex, your driving is just as good as mine. I don't need you to try and help me get some recognition by busting some illegal street racing.

Alex:

Well, it's not so much that, I'm still tired and hurt. Shouldn't be moving too much yet.

Caden:

Fine. When and where?

Alex smiles. Scene skips to Alex's apartment all packed up. She gets a phone call from Alison.

Alex:

Hey. Everything ok?

Alison:

So they caught the person that killed Brenda.

Alex:

Really? Who was it?

Alison:

The guy you were chasing after.

Alex:
I see...are you okay?

Alison:

Uhm…no. No, I'm not.

Alex:

Oh…if there's anything I can do…

Alison:

Can I stay at your place? Gwen usually offers me to stay with her, but she has a date.

Alex:

Oh, yeah. Of course. I just gotta warn you…it's a little uh……messy?

Alison:

Oh, I know you've probably been stressing. Totally understandable.

Alex:

Yeah. Thanks. Just letting you know…I'm going to the race with my brother. But I won't be long, I'm sure.

Alison:

No problem. I'll wait for you.

Alex:

Nah, just come to the house and make yourself at home. Sleep on my bed if you'd like.

Alison:
I um…I'm afraid to be home alone, remember?

Alex:
Oh yeah. Sorry. Uhm…I got an idea. Where are you now?

Alison:

Brenda's house. Just finished packing. Why?

Alex:
I'll come get you now. Be ready.

Alison:
Oh okay.

Alex drives to pick up Alison. She gets into the car.

Alison:

Hey, what's going on?

Alex:

Aren't you sleeping over?

Alison:
Yes?

Alex:
Okay, well, get your PJS and then we'll get some company so you're not alone at my house.

Alison:

I'm confused. You're asking one of your friends to stay with me until you come home?

Alex:

(Gives off a smile)
Yeah, something like that.

They drive to the mall and Alison gives off a huge smile.

Alex:
Well, pick a friend.

Alison just smiles and stare at all the cute puppies.

Alison:
They're all so expensive.

Alex:
Yeah, but I'm getting one for free.

Alison:

Really? Why?

Alex:

Well…I was driving one day and saw a wandering puppy. I pulled over, picked him up and kept him until we found him his owner.

Alison:
Really?

Alex:

Yeah. And she said if I ever needed a friend, just drop by her store and pick one up.

Alison:

That's really nice of her; usually people give like a small reward.

Alex:
Well, the dog got sick and I took him to the vet, bought him a bunch of toys and food…etcetera.

Alison:
Oh, then that makes sense.

Alex:
I never liked being responsible for someone or something other than myself, but…ever since I started being an officer, and had my own team…that kinda had to change.

Alison:

I see. Is that why you never got a dog even though the owner said you could have one?

Alex:
Yeah…and I'm always working. I wouldn't have time to play with it.

Alison:

So, why are you getting one now?

Alex:

Well, you said you didn't like being home by yourself, so I thought…

Alison:
You thought a little puppy would give me the company I need?

Alex:
Essentially, yes.

Alison:

You're adorable.

Alex:

Haha, nah…I know whichever puppy you choose, it'll protect you when I'm not around.

Alison:

Haha. Okay. Let's see…

Ms. Cheryl:

Alex?

Alex:

Ms. Cheryl! Hi! I didn't know you worked on the weekends.

Ms. Cheryl:

I usually don't, but a couple workers are getting married or moving and they really needed the weekend off. I didn't expect you to be here.

Alex:
I wasn't going to until I bought my house, but…uh…the house feels a little lonely.

Ms. Cheryl:

Yes, I'm sure a puppy will make all the difference.

Alex:
(Watches Alison playing with all the puppies)

Yeah…I think so too.

Ms. Cheryl:

Who's the girl?

Alex:
Oh, she is-

Ms. Cheryl:

Your girlfriend?

Alex:

What? No, no, no. My co-worker. Well, she works for me.

Ms. Cheryl:

Really?

Alex:
Yes, Ms. Cheryl, there is nothing going on between us.

Ms. Cheryl:

Well, I don't know. All the sudden I see a girl with you and you want a dog. She's something.

Alex:

Oh goodness.

Ms. Cheryl:

I'm messing with ya sweetie! You know which dog you want?

Alex:
Well, I'm getting the dog for her.

Ms. Cheryl:

Oh…yeah…there's definitely nothing going on between you too.

Alison:

Alex! Come here!

Alex:

I think she found the one she wants.

Alison:

He's so cute!!!

Alex:

I'm coming!

Alison:
Oh gosh, look at him! Isn't he precious?

Alex:
Yes, he is. He's really cute.

Alison:
You are the cutest Husky ever. Yes you are!

Alex:
(Looks at a baby Golden Retriever)

Aww…

Alison:

Ms. Cheryl, how much for this little fella?

Ms. Cheryl:

I already told Alex that one's on the house.

Alison:
Aww…he's too cute.

Ms. Cheryl:

Looks like Alex got her eyes on a Retriever though.

Alison:
She does?

She sees Alex playing with the puppy and the dog can't stop wagging its tail nor licking her face. Alison hears Alex's laughter from a distance and can sense happiness. She's never seen Alex laugh and smile so much.

Ms. Cheryl:

Never seen that puppy so happy like that.

Alison:

Ms. Cheryl?

Ms. Cheryl:

Yes?

Alison:
That's our puppy.

Ms. Cheryl:

Sounds good. I'll pick out the best food for the puppy and some chew toys for his tiny little teeth.

Alison:
Thank you.

Alex:
Alright little man, back in your cage before my face is all slobber.

The puppy gives puppy eyes.

Alex:
No, don't give me that look. Come on. I don't have room for two dogs right now.

Alison:
What are you doing?

Alex:
What do you mean?

Alison:
You better pick that puppy up and put him on that counter!

Alex:
What? Why?

Alison:

(Picks up the puppy)
Here.

Alex:
I don't understand. What about the Husky?

Alison:
He…has a brother…I don't want to separate them.

Alex:
Really?

Alison:
Yeah. Once I get my own place…and they're still here…I'll grab them.

Alex:

I see. When will you get your own place?

Alison:
No clue. I have a good amount saved up, but I wanted to buy something instead of a house.

Alex:

Like what?

Alison:

It's a secret.

Alex:
I see. Well, good luck on that.

Alison:

Thanks.

Alex:
Let's go check out and have a nice dinner.

Alison:
Sounds good.

Ms. Cheryl:

I got some of the best foods and toys for the little rascal here.

Alex:
Thank you, Ms. Cheryl.

Ms. Cheryl:

No problem. Have you thought of a name for him yet?

Alex:
Uh, no actually.

Ms. Cheryl:

Well, step over to that machine and make him a dog tag silly!

Alison:
Oh! I wanna do it!

Alison runs over to the machine to start picking out designs.

Ms. Cheryl:

She is awfully excited for your puppy Alex.

Alex:
The little things excites her I guess.

Alison:
Alex! Come here and look at the designs!

Alex:

Sorry Ms. Cheryl.

Ms. Cheryl:

Oh, no problem. We can catch up later. Now that you have a dog, I'm sure you will drop by often.

Alex:
I sure will.

Ms. Cheryl:

I'll bag your stuff.

Alex nods and heads over to the tag machine. They look at all kinds of designs and finally chose a rainbow tag with the name: Charger. Then the two drive off to a nice restaurant called "La Fountaine Bleu".

Alison:

Oh wow. You weren't kidding when you said nice dinner.

Alex:

It's one of the best restaurants in town.

Alison:

One problem though.

Alex:

What?

A little bark comes from the back seat.

Alex:
Oh, right. Darn.

Alison:

Maybe if we get a baby carriage-

Alex:
No. It's not going to fool anyone.

Alison:

Then you think of something.

Alex:

I will.

Alex carries Charger in her arm and walks through the front door.

Alison:

Oh, I gotta see this.

Alex:

Hi, table for two please.

Hostess:

Of course Mademoiselle, but there are not pets allowed, I'm terribly sorry.

Alison:

See, I told you.

Alex:

I'd like to speak to your boss, please.

Hostess:

The boss is very busy, I'm very sorry.

Alex:
Tell your boss, Officer Knight wants to speak to her.

Hostess:
Oh…yes ma'am.

Alison:

So you're gonna take advantage of your position as an officer to get what you want?

Alex:
Sure.

Alison:

That's not right. Shouldn't abuse your power like that.

Jamie:

Hey!

Alison:

You own this place too?

Jamie:

You didn't know that Ali?

Alison:
No, oh my gosh, how've you been?

Jamie:
Feels like forever since I've seen you! And you too Chief. And you got a puppy too!?

Alex:
Yeah just got him like a half hour ago.

Jamie:

What's his name!? He's adorable!

Alison:
Charger. He's a Golden Retriever.

Jamie:
Hey Charger! Are you hungry? Oh my gosh can I play with him while you guys eat?

Alison:

Totally!

Jamie:

Thanks! Dinner's on me Alex. Come on little puppy!

Alison:

That was easier than I expected.

Alex:

Yeah. You never have any faith in me Ali.

Alison:

It's not that, I just-

Alex:
Ah…hush…let's go eat. I got a race to go to later.

Alison:

I wish I could go on the race.

Alex:
You can. One day.

They exchange smiles. They go to their assigned table. After taking their seats, Alex hears a familiar voice from afar.

Gwen:

Table for two please.

Hostess:

I'm so sorry. We just filled our last table.

Gwen:

Really? Wow.

Cindy:

It's okay, we can go somewhere else.

Gwen:
But I haven't been here in forever.

Cindy:

It's not that serious.

Alex walks over to Gwen.

Alex:

Hey!

Gwen:

LC? What are you doing here?

Alex:

Having dinner, duh.

Gwen:

I know, are you here on a date?

Alex:

Um, no…just dinner.

Gwen:

With who though?

Alex:
Alison.

Gwen:

Oh…

Alex:

Is…this your date?

Gwen:
Yeah, sorry. Um…Cindy, Alex…Alex, my date Cindy.

Alex:
Nice to meet you.

Cindy:

Oh no, the pleasure is mine.

Gwen:

I'm sure it is.

Alex:

Well, I overheard that they're at full capacity right now, but if you want to have dinner with me and Alison, you're welcome too.

Gwen:
Uhm…

Cindy:
That sounds like a great idea!

Alex:
Glad you think so, Cindy. But how about you Gwen?

Gwen:
Of course.

Gwen and Cindy walks over and sees Alison.

Alison:

Wow! What a cowinky-dink!

Gwen:

Right?

Cindy:
Thanks for letting us have dinner with you Alex.

Alex:
No problem. The more the merrier.

Alison:

Indeed it is.

Everyone sits down and eats dinner. Caden is at his apartment watching TV. Every channel he flips to, he sees happy couples and is annoyed by them.

Caden:

Gosh. When am I gonna find someone?

Caden looks at his phone and sees Gwen's name in his contact list.

Caden:

Whatever happened to us, Gwen? (Pause) Should I call her? I've got nothing to lose.

At the restaurant the girls eat and chat.

Alison:

How do you like everything so far Cindy?

Cindy:
Gosh, everything is great. Including the atmosphere. (Looks at Alex)

Gwen:

Is Alex part of the "atmosphere" too?

Cindy:
Oh Gwen, you're so silly.

Gwen:
Right…(Her phone rings and she answers) Hello?

Caden:
Hey, it's me, Caden.

Gwen:

Yeah, what's up?

Caden:
I…I wanted to talk to you, are you busy?

Gwen:
A little, why?

Caden:
I just…really need to talk to you. Can you come over ASAP?

Gwen:
Sure, after dinner. Okay. Bye.

Alex:
Everything okay?

Gwen:
Yeah…just a friend needing advice. I told 'em I'll be over after dinner.

Alex:
I see.

Cindy:

What about our date then?

Gwen:
I'm sure you're enjoying my boss's presence more than mine.

Cindy:

What? Boss?

Alison:

Alex is actually our boss.

Cindy:

Whoa. That's hot.

Gwen:

Yeah, you know what; I think I should go talk to my friend. LC, you mind taking care of the bill, I'll pay you back tomorrow.

Alex:
Oh, no, dinner's on me.

Cindy:
Oh, gosh. A boss and a gentle-lady. Where can I find one of you?

Alison:
Uhm, you can't. She's taken. (Puts her arm over Alex)

Alex:
Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. I'm happily taken. (Also puts her arm around Alison)

Cindy:
Well, if things don't work out-

Alison:

Which they will.

Cindy:
Haha. Give me a holler. (Winks)

Gwen:
I'm taking you home now.

Cindy:

Bye. (Blows a kiss at Alex)

Alex waves goodbye.

Alex:
Thanks for the save there.

Alison:

Barely, she was still trying to go after you. So foul.

Alex:
It's kinda hot how assertive she was…

Alison:

What?!

Alex:

What!? Nothing! I didn't say anything!

Alison:

You thought she was hot?!

Alex:
No, no, no! Gosh. Check please!

Jamie comes out with Charger.

Jamie:
I already said dinner was on me didn't I?

Alex:
Oh yeah, completely forgot.

Jamie:

Gosh, this little fella is so cute!

Alex:
Hey, if I ever need a babysitter, I'll give you a call.

Jamie:
I better be the first one on your list.

Alex:

You are.

Jamie:
Well, here you go. Take care of him.

Alison:
We will, don't worry.

Alex:
Give me a call sometime Jamie and we'll catch up.

Jamie:

Sounds good.

Alex:
Cool. See ya later.

The three leave into the car. Gwen arrives at Caden's apartment. She knocks on his door and he opens up.

Gwen:
Hey.

Caden:

Hey. Come in.

Gwen:
Thanks.

Caden:
You came a lot sooner than I expected.

Gwen:

Yeah, wouldn't have if my date wasn't drooling all over your sister.

Caden:
You were on a date?

Gwen:

Yeah, so?

Caden:
I didn't know you were over us so quickly.

Gwen:
I didn't know that you weren't over us so quickly.

Caden:
I just…was thinking a lot and was wondering what happened to us?

Gwen:

You know what happened…

Caden:

Well, I do, but…I don't understand why.

Gwen:
The heart wants what it wants. I'm sorry.

Caden:
What does Alex have that I don't have?

Gwen:

A vagina. Can we move on?

Caden:
Seriously?

Gwen:

Look. I don't want to have this conversation with you Caden. If this was all you needed to talk about then I'm leaving. (Heads towards the door)

Caden:
(Grabs Gwen's arm)
Wait!

Gwen:

What!?

Caden:

Give me another chance. Give us another chance.

Gwen:
I told you a thousand times already. I don't love you.

Caden:
How do you go from loving me to loving Alex the next day?!

Gwen:
It wasn't the next day and if you don't stop bringing us up, I swear I will never work with you again!

Caden:
You're never going to be with Alex. You can dream all day long, but you're wasting your time with someone that will never feel the same way about you!

Gwen:
I will make her love me.

Caden:

I will tell Alex about us and I'm sure she will never look at you the same.

Gwen:
I don't understand what you have against your own sister.

Caden:
Because! That bitch gets everything she wants! And I mean everything! Even when she doesn't ask for it! Everyone recognizes all her work, but not mine! It's like she is invincible and I'm invisible!

Gwen:
If there's nothing else…I'd like to leave now.

Gwen slams the door behind her. Alex and Alison arrive at Alex's apartment.

Alex:
I'm warning, it's messy.

Alison:

I'm sure Charger will like his new home.

Alex:

Hope so.

They walk in and Alison is shocked.

Alex:
Told ya it was messy.

Alison:

No, it's not. You're…all packed up.

Alex:

Yeah…

Alison:

Are you leaving us?

Alex:
No, I just want to find a new place.

Alison:

You know, I'm extremely jealous that you are younger and so independent.

Alex:
Well, I guess my Mom taught me well.

Alison:

She sure did.

Alex:
Uhm…you're welcome to sleep on my bed and I'll take the couch or vice versa.

Alison:

Why can't we sleep together?

Alex:

What?

Alison:

I mean, Charger would want both of us there with him, don't you think?

Alex:
I…I guess, but…I still don't understand why it's necessary.

Alison:

Well, I think we would both feel safer knowing you're close by. Very close by.

Alex:

True.

Alison:

Sweet! I'll bathe him before he goes to bed with us.

Alex:

I gotta go to the race now…so…I'll be home later.

Alison:

Okay, be careful.

Caden is out front waiting for Alex.

Alex:

Right on time.

Caden:

Where did you leave your car?

Alex:
In storage, where else?

Caden:

I'm surprised no one stole it yet.

Alex:

I have security cameras hooked up, and I got a friend nearby if anyone came near it.

Caden:
I see. Well, let's bring him out. It's been awhile.

Alex:
Maybe for you.

Caden:

You mean, you've driven it without out me?

They drove off and their conversation fades. They show up at the race with a black on black Nissan GT-R. They discuss the plan in the car.

Alex:

Hey. Where can we find Yoshino?

Yoshino:

You're talking to her now.

Caden:
Damn, you're hot.

Alex:

Keep your pants on Brian.

Caden:

Eff you, Sky.

Yoshino:

Sky? Beautiful name. Just as beautiful as your ride.

Alex:
Thanks. One of your boys raced me and the wager was for me to get in on the big races.

Yoshino:
I can see that you've won.

Alex:

Yes I did.

Yoshino:

Who's this?

Alex:
My brother. I hurt my arm. So he's racing for me.

Yoshino:

What a shame. I would love to see what moves you got.

Caden:
You sure you're not interested in my moves?

Yoshino:
I'm sorry honey. These doors swing one way…and it's not towards you.

Caden:
Of freaking course.

Yoshino:
I'll meet you at the start in five?

Alex:

Sure. What's the bet?

Caden:

As if it isn't obvious.

Alex:
Cash?

Caden:
Don't you see the pink slips everywhere dummy?

Alex:
Oh, no. I'm not losing car over this race, let's go home!

Caden:

You know you won't ever be able to be in these kinds of races without a car like this. You better take this opportunity!

Yoshino:
You know…normally…I would let new racers have a few races, but tonight…you get one race. With me.

Alex:
With…you?

Yoshino:
Yes. If you win, you walk away with your car and five grand.

Alex:

And if I lose?

Yoshino:

I get your car…and a date with you.

Alex:
What!? I'm worth more than five grand.

Caden:
That sounds great! See you at the start!

(Drives away)

Alex:

Are you crazy?

Caden:
What? You've gone this far to try and stop these street racers, and now that you're here you're gonna back down?

Alex:
You know I love this car. And I'm not even sure if you can handle it. I've upgraded it since the last time you touched it.

Caden:
Just trust me alright?

Alex:
Ugh.

The two cars line up. Alex rubs her forehead with frustration.

Gwen:
Hey, how's the race going?

Alex:
We're about to start soon. I'll put you on cam. Try to gather as many suspects, car makes/models and license plates.

Gwen:

Got it.

Caden:
Hey. Not gonna lie…that Porsche looks pretty mean.

Alex:
You think I didn't notice when I saw her rolling up with it?

They both roll their windows down and rev their engines.

Yoshino:
I'm looking forward to our date tonight, Sky!

Alex:
I would too if it were under different circumstances besides possibly losing my car!

Yoshino winks and rolls up her window. The girl raises both arms up and then drops her arms and yell go!

Caden:

Whoaaa! Dang! What did you do to this thing!?

Alex:

A lot!

Caden:

You know, I was so shocked a Japanese girl is driving a European car!

Alex:
It totally caught me off guard too!

The race is coming to an end. Both cars use nitrous, but Yoshino won by a hair.

Alex:

No! Damn!

Caden:
I'm sorry dude. I tried.

Alex:

Don't call me dude.

Alex and Caden shut off their engine. They walk towards Yoshino's car to talk and hand over the keys.

Yoshino:
That was a pretty close call there.

Yoshino speaks in Japanese telling her people to take the car to her house.

Alex:
Yeah, a little too close.

Yoshino:
Aww…come on. Don't look so down. A date with me isn't that bad.

Alex:
It's not that…

Yoshino:
Then what is it? (Speaking Japanese towards someone else) Arrigato.

Caden:
It was a 45 minute ride for us to come out here. Taxi is gonna charge an arm and a leg to take the both of us home.

Yoshino:

I see. Don't worry. I'll take you home, since…you're my date and all.

Alex:
Really? No catch at all?

Yoshino:

Nope…as long as you keep your end of the bargain.

Alex:

Sure.

Yoshino:

Good. Hop in.

Caden:
Sweet!

Yoshino:
Ah, ah, ah…not you. Only her.

Caden:

Are you serious?

Alex:
Here's 50 bucks, you can cover the rest.

Caden:
But the taxis are so gross-

The two drive off as Yoshino waves bye to her brother.

Yoshino:

You and your bro seem pretty close.

Alex:
Eh…I guess.

Yoshino:

I see. Then you must love your car more than your brother.

Alex:
That I can't disagree with.

Yoshino:

Haha. Same here.

Alex:
You have a brother?

Yoshino:

Yeah. Takashi. I took over this division for him.

Alex:
Where is Takashi now?

Yoshino:

No clue. He hasn't called me and I haven't called him.

Alex:
I see.

Yoshino:

Anyways…what do you do for a living?

Alex:
Not much. Dad pays for my rent so…I just race on the weekends and take care of puppies on the weekdays.

Yoshino:

Really? I've always wanted a dog!

Alex:

I can get you one if you want.

Yoshino:

That would be so awesome!

Alex:
In return, I'd like to trade the dog for my car.

Yoshino:

Oh, I knew that was coming.

Alex:
I'm that predictable huh?

Yoshino:

Just a little. But it's cute though.

Alex:
Thanks.

Yoshino:

You're welcome.

Alex:
Oh, make a left here.

Yoshino:

Here already?

Alex:

Time flies when you're having fun.

Yoshino:

I agree. So…when can I pick you up?

Alex:
Well, I'm covering for a co-worker all week because she's going on her honeymoon, so…maybe the weekend?

Yoshino:

What's your number? That way, I can keep in contact.

Alex:
You already know where I live. Is it really that necessary?

Yoshino:
Hey, a deal is a deal.

Alex:
Okay. Here, I'll type it in your phone.

Yoshino:

Okay, let me try calling you.

Alex's phone rings.

Alex:
Don't trust me, huh?

Yoshino:
Better safe than sorry for losing such a pretty girl.

Alex:
Haha. I guess.

Yoshino:

Good. I'll see you next week.

Alex:
Alright.

Yoshino:

Text me sometime.

Alex:
I will. Thanks for the ride.

Yoshino:

(Gives Alex a kiss on the lips)

Goodnight.

Alex:
(Shocked)

Uhm…sweet dreams.

Alex walks into the house and sees Alison and the puppy fast asleep on the couch.

Alex:
Was she waiting for me?

Alex walks over to Alison with a blanket. The puppy wakes up and jumps off the couch.

Alex:

Oh geeze. Charger. Shhh…

Alison:

Oh, you're home. What time is it?

Alex:

Uhm…two…a.m.

Alison:

Oh geeze. How did it go?

Alex:

Well, Caden drove…and I lost my car. But I got a kiss out of it.

Alison:

Oh my. That must've been nice. Sorry about the car.

Alex:

It's okay. I'll find a way to get it back.

Alison:

You look exhausted. Maybe you should sleep now.

Alex:

Yeah…I'm so tired. (Picks up Charger)

Alison:

Haha. (Gets up)

Alex:

Where are you going?

Alison:

In the bedroom, where else?

Alex:

What?

They walk into the bedroom.

Alison:
You didn't think you were gonna get Charger all to yourself now did you?

Alex:
You're funny. Goodnight.

Alison:
Nightttttttt.

Alex stares at Alison falling asleep. Charger licks Alex's face. She smiles, pets him, kisses him and Charger cuddles between them. Alison waits for a few minutes for Alex to fall asleep. She softly calls Alex's name, but there is no response. She then proceeds to grab her hand and hold it. Monday morning arrives. Alex wakes up and sees Alison holding her hand. She is confused, but lets it go and gets out of bed to start breakfast. Charger wakes up and follows her. Alex takes Charger out to use the potty. She wipes his paws before going inside and feeds him his breakfast. Alex then proceeds to cook breakfast for her and Alison. As soon as Alex is done cooking, Charger is also down with his breakfast.

Alex:
Go wake Alison up, Charger.

Charger sprints to Alison and onto the bed to lick her face. Alison wakes up and pets him. She freshens up and goes downstairs.

Alison:
Wow, everything smells so good.

Alex:
Thanks. Dig in.

As they sit and eat breakfast Alison asks Alex a few questions.

Alison:
So…the girl that kissed you last night…was it the one you were looking for?

Alex:

Yeah. Her name is Yoshino. Really cute girl. It's in my report.

Alison:

Just stay away from her. She is bad news.

Alex:

Thanks Mom.

Alison:

Hey, why is it that every time someone is concerned about you, you're a little punk about it?

Alex:
Maybe because I'm a grown-ass woman who doesn't need someone lecturing me?

Alison:

Ugh, you're impossible. I swear you're gonna die alone.

Alex:
I think you forget I'm your boss. Even after hours.

Alison:

Yes, because to you, all I am is an underling.

Alex:
I didn't say that…

Alison:
You mind as well have said it.

Alex:
Okay, it's way too early in the morning for this. I'm gonna bring Yoshino in as soon as I can for questioning. So even if I did like her and wanted to get to know her, I couldn't. Nor would something as crazy as that would ever happen so…calm your nips.

Alison:
Ugh…

Alex:

Anyways, have you found an apartment yet?

Alison:
No, why are you asking? Is my presence bothering you? I can move out.

Alex:
No. I'm just…gonna be moving soon.

Alison:
(Stops eating)
Moving?!

Alex:
Yeah. Moving. I told you this already.

Alison:
You really don't want to work with us anymore?

Alex:
No, I've been saving up for a house and…I wasn't in any rush to buy it at first, but…now that I have Charger and he's gonna grow in a blink of an eye, I have to.

Alison:

Oh. A house. I thought you finally wanted to settle down or something.

Alex:
Haha. Anyways, I'm gonna take Charger to see his new home.

Alex takes Charger with her and drives to the new home. Alison goes to work.

Alex:
You like your new home Charger?

Charger runs around happily and explores the new house. The doorbell rings.

Alex:
That's weird. Is that Gwen with lunch?

Alex opens the door.

Alex:
Yoshino?

Yoshino:

Hi, Sky. Or should I say Officer Knight.

Alex:
What? How did you know I was here?

Yoshino:
Just how you knew everywhere I went.

Alex:

What are you talking about?

Yoshino:
Your brother had people following me and he took me for questioning.

Alex:
What?

Yoshino:
Stop playing dumb.

Alex:
I really don't know what you're talking about.

Yoshino:
(Points a gun at Alex)
Does this refresh your memory?

Alex:
Yoshino. Put the gun down. We can talk about this.

Yoshino:
No! You lied!

Alex:
I-

Yoshino:
NO! Shut up! It's a shame things had to end this way.

Alex:
Put the gun down Yoshino.

Yoshino takes a shot at Alex's arm.

Alex:
Ugghhh!

Yoshino:

Are you gonna leave me alone or will I have to kill you?

Alex:
You know that's not my decision. Ahhhh.

Alex is on the floor trying to put pressure on her wound.

Yoshino:
I really liked you, Alex.

Alex:
No. You liked Sky. And I'm not her.

Yoshino:
Well then…

Alex watches as Yoshino points the gun at her chest. Alex's breathing gets harder. Back at the station, Alison is at her desk reading reports and files. Around lunch time Gwen stops by and greets her.

Gwen:
Good afternoon, Sunshine.

Alison:

Afternoon Moonpie.

Gwen:
Oh, that's different. Hey you saw Caden anywhere?
