I hummed along to the song I was listening to; Star Fire. I loved that song. And I had weirdly dedicated it to my lover, Max. Well, ex-lover. I missed his smile, his touch. Heh. I missed him. We had fun times together. Smiling, laughing, playing, sleeping, fucking.. I was always on top. And I can't believe my bottom left me. What did I do? I wondered. I can only wonder. Haven't spoke to him in weeks. Turning into a few months..
"Jake, I think you should calm down. You're shaking hell of a lot." My close friend, Sissie said. She and I had been waiting outside of the book store for almost an hour already. Waiting for Max to exit. He told Sissie to meet up with him outside of this store. His shift was just about over.
"Agh.. I can't." I replied, huffing. It was cold and snowing. Damned winter. I never liked this season. It was always too cold. Like it is now. I had black headphones in that were slipping out and I really didn't wan to remove my hands from my pockets to push them back in.
The book store's doors opened, and out stepped Max. 'Shit..' I thought to myself, getting even more nervous than I already was. Which was a lot.
"Ah, Sissie!" Max exclaimed, not noticing me standing there.
"Hey, Maxxie!" She greeted back. "Uhm.." Sissie looked over in my direction.
Max looked in my direction as well, making a fake smile. "Oh, hey, Jake." He innocently greeted.
"Hey." I greeted back, looking away, still nervous.
"Jake, what're you doing here?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in question. "I didn't ex-"
I interrupted him by pulling him into a hug. "J-Jake!" He tried pushing me away. He was never stronger than me, so he failed.
"Max.. I know I'm sounding desperate, but.. I need you!" I sniffed slightly, bringing in his delicious scent. "Please, please, please, come back to me." I tried desperately to keep my sobs in, but one accidently rolled out, my shoulders shuddering.
"Jake, no.. I'm sorry-"
"Please!" I continued to beg. "Please.. I don't know what I did to scare you away.. But I love you. Ever since we met!"
Max somehow slipped out of my hold and said, "I'm sorry.. I really did love you, too. But I can't take the pain." He sighed softly, his brown locks falling in front of his eye. He smoothly moved his hair away and continued. "Goodbye, Jake." He started to walk away, telling Sissie he'd call her later.
"Max!" I ran up to him, grabbing his hand and holding it tightly. "Please.." I begged again.
"Goodbye." Max snatched his hand back and walked off. I watched as he continued off, not looking back.
A week later, I heard terrible news. News that literally made me fall to my knees and bawl.
"I'm sorry," Another friend of mine, Tommy said. "He.. He's.. Gone.."
"LIAR!" I screamed, panicking. "LIAR!" I repeated.
"I'd never lie about something like this!"
The funeral was saddening. I can't believe I can cry that loud. Friends tried calming me down, but failed. Nothing, no one, can calm me.
The last thing he ever said to me was "Goodbye.".. And I'll never forget his voice. His heavenly, sweet voice..
"Goodbye, world." I muttered, taking one step before..-
*WEE OO WEE OO*
The sound of sirens. I did it. I jumped off the twenty story building. And now I was being lifted into the ambulance. Tommy by my side. My eyes slightly open, I seen him mouth "Jake. Jake, keep your eyes open. Breathe. Please.."
"Goodbye.." I repeated, closing my eyes and smiling slightly. I couldn't wait to see him.
"Oh? Jake?" I heard his voice..
"Max?" I looked around, and spotted him coming closer to me.
"Idiot!" He shouted, scowling.
"I wanted to be with you! I couldn't live without you, Max.."
"Oh, Jake.." He smiled softly. "I.. I love you."
"I love you, too, Max.."
