Jerry, (as he is affectionately known to his friends), has been fascinated with words and writing since childhood but was always so terribly busy achieving other goals he had set for himself, that he never devoted the time to writing seriously. That is until his birthday in March of 2007, when he reached a milestone; that extraordinarily youthful and dashing age of sixty!

A world traveler, having visited places as diverse as Greece and Iceland, Morocco, Malta and the Costa del Sol, he also served for many years as choir director and soloist at the former Wesley United Methodist and Broadway United Methodist Churches of Lynn, Massachusetts. He attended Berkshire Christian College in Lenox, Massachusetts and Northeastern University in Boston, studying a Pastoral curriculum, Psychology, American Literature and Creative Writing. Mr. Lebel is also an award winning Community Theatre Director and past president of The Theatre Company of Saugus, Inc.

Continuing his never-ending search for more life-changing discoveries, Mr. Lebel is currently at work on his first novel as well as busy publishing his first book of prose and poetry,Talking to Myself, which is now available for purchase. Mr Lebel welcomes your comments and can be contacted at: GERABEL47@msn.com

POETRY

"Let us remember... that in the end we go to poetry for one reason, so that we might more fully inhabit our lives and the world in which we live them, and that if we more fully inhabit these things, we might be less apt to destroy both."

Christian Wiman
Editor
Poetry Magazine

"In spite of everything, I still believe that people are good at heart."

-Anne Frank

**********************************************************************************************************************************************

...It well may be that in a difficult hour,
Pinned down by pain and moaning for release,
Or nagged by want past resolution's power,
I might be driven to sell your love for peace,
Or trade the memory of this night for food.
It well may be. I do not think I would.

-Edna St. Vincent Millay

Time and again I've longed for adventure, something to make my heart beat the faster
what did I long for I never really knew.

Finding your love I found my adventure, touching your hand my heart beats the faster
All that I want, in all of this world... is you.

-Oscar Hammerstein II

"The difference between Oscar Hammerstein ll and the rest of us lyric writers is that he is a poet."........IRVING BERLIN

"Love makes the world go round and round and round and stops for no one. You either jump on the merry-go-round or it just keeps passing you by!"
