-Teen Drug And Alcohol Use
Have you ever used
Drugs or Alcohol?
6% 40 participants
When asking teens this
question, its surprising to see that the main choice would be
yes, they have used.
Out of 40 students, a shocking minimum of 6 teens have not
Not specifying what
drug or the participant's name, students were able to be honest
Although this is a positive thing, it is not positive that the

the answer "Yes". Though this may be something not unheard of,
During the survey,
students joked and laughed about the situation, as if it were no
deal. Some insisted
that their friends sign "Yes", saying that they couldn't deny
previous usage. Some
students seemed nervous and asked questions on whether or
they would get caught
and the legibility of the survey. Some students even
specified what drug
they had used and how many times. Only one student boasted
status of having
never used drugs or alcohol. Apparently students do not see any
and addictions. Perhaps it is due to the lack of education on the
of drugs and alcohol,
or could it be that usage comes from an indirect rebellion
parents and adult
figures? It is obvious that they have learned about the risks
times throughout their
lives, so why do they do it anyway?
A misunderstanding has
clearly happened here. Through media, surroundings and
have resolved to put their frustrations to rest through a bottle
end of a cigarette.
Some possibly do it because their friends do it. Are these the
reasons? I cannot
really know the truth, but I can observe it and wonder what its
about. Being a
drug-free teen myself, I can't see what the draw is. Because of
uprising, I have
witnessed the results of abusing drugs and alcohol. I have
haven't had the
ambition to try out these things for myself. I've seen what drugs

Some teens really do
believe that drugs cannot hurt them, and that nothing really is
about drugs. Being
youths today, maybe teens believe that they are invincible, and
they will never be
hurt by their addictions.
I honestly wish that
they could see the truth about drugs for themselves, and that
could make the right
choice. But these things cannot always be granted. Teens do
it seems like an
obvious fact now. Perhaps if I had asked different students, my
would not be so bad.
The results would still show the truth though, that cannot
disguised. Maybe it is
because our town is so small and isolated, that teens think that
have no future to look
forward to anyway. What could they accomplish?
Perhaps they have nothing better to do. Which
quite frankly, is saddening.
