Western Medicine or European Medicine; the cost of Health or Wealth
While prescription drugs are over running our lives in America, has our country failed our health and well-being for the wealth and well-being of its very own green eyed monster? With all of the medical advancement in medicine over the last century, it seems as though Americans have lost their way when it comes to the truly important patient-doctor experience that might be found in other countries, countries that are considered to be less medically advanced, but that are showing unprecedented scientific improvements without the use of prescription medicines. Therefore, countries like the Ukraine and Poland are offering natural resources and lower cost regimines that don’t have unnecessary and unknown health risks like those of Western Medicine. Presently, the healthcare system in America is very aware to the benefits of these European therapies that are preventing and even curing major diseases that we struggle with America, but will still deny them because of the money that has been invested in pharmaceutical companies that has brought them so much wealth which has sustained them for so long.

Personal Comment: Within this paper will focus on the use of natural salt in preventing, and curing of major illness, like, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, pneumonia, arthritis; all of which are a billion dollar industry in the pharmaceutical world, because everyone has to breathe, and will pay whatever it takes for prescriptions as opposed to the cheaper and more beneficial way of using salt therapy.

Rough Draft
Western Medicine or European Medicine; the cost of Health or Wealth
While prescription drugs are over running our lives in America, has our country failed our health and well-being for the wealth and well-being of its very own government and physicians we trust. With all of the medical advancement in medicine over the last century, it seems as though Americans have lost their way when it comes to the truly important patient-doctor experience that might be found in other countries, countries that are considered to be less medically advanced, but that are showing unprecedented scientific improvements without the use of prescription medicines.
Therefore, countries like the Ukraine, Poland, Russia, and Austria in Europe are offering natural resources and considerably lower cost therapy that consist simply of pure salt that doesn't have unnecessary and unknown health risks like those of Western Medicine. Salt is abundantly found all across parts of the Earth and below the Earth's crust for miles and miles, and can be used in the maintenance and curing of major ailments like bronchial asthma, allergies, bronchitis, pneumonia, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, influenza, and other respiratory diseases that overwhelm our society in the United States.
Just near the border of Romanina lies the slovanian country of the Ukraine. This is where the first customized salt cave was used to house asthmatics and people with other bronchial problems. The cave is named Gombasecka, and this is where the speleotherapy began in the early 1950's. The cave was open to anyone who was able to pay a small fee and they would be allowed to stay in the cave on a little cot that extended into rows and rows of other cots. The whole system was set up to allow the adults to stay minimally comfortable and cramped, and also was considered to be rather slovic and dangerous to a lot of people. But the process of simply inhaling the salt crystals was rather easy. The patients would lie on the bed and inhale the salt, that would in turn kill the microorganisms that latched onto the bronchial walls of the lungs and reduce the phlegm and mucus that was negatively building up on the wall of the lungs, thus, causing the inflammation of the lungs to reduce and the breathing to improve.
This therapy was originally called Speleotherapy with 'speleo' meaning 'cave' and the therapy being done in a salt cave or mine as they are also called. This type of beneficial phenomena was discovered in the mid twentieth century by salt mine workers in Eastern Europe. The studies were done and the statistics were high about the beneficial components of salt in correspondence with respiratory illness like asthma and the others that were mentioned earlier. The miners were evaluated over a period of time, and the results were astounding. Very few of the salt miners ever developed emphysema, pneumonia or struggled with any sort of respiratory problems. This began the cultural spread of salt mines to be used as hospitals for people suffering breathing problems. While some would argue the mines unsafe structures and unsanitary conditions, the consensus is a clear one. The Speleotherapy works on so many levels that it should be spread out world-wide to aid in the world wide asthma epidemic.
There is currently one Speleotherapy clinic in the United States and it is actually a Halotherapy clinic due to the fact that this clinic is above ground in a micro-controlled climate which is man-made as opposed to the Speleotherapy underground mines in Europe. This clinic is a micro climate that has salt ions permeating through the walls and vents that essentially burrow into the patients lungs and kills and dissolves the micro-organisms that cause asthma and phlegm. These treatments are commonly practiced in a series of appointments over the course of a month to three months. The clinics are becoming more and more modernized with comfortable salt rooms that equipped with recliners and televisions along with playrooms filled with salt for the younger patients. The expense of building these Halotherapy clinics in the United States cannot even compare to the health that will be sustained through this therapy. A widely speculated reason for the lack of Halotherapy clinics in the United States has to do with money and also the fact that the practice of salt therapy, especially Halotherapy across the Western world and almost any other country that is not in Europe considers it to not really work and be as beneficial as the European countries say it is.
Although the statistics are not widely recognized or accurately recorded and published, the people who live, traveled and practiced this therapy say that there breathing symptoms are gone after a couple treatements that span over a couple of months and also say that they are cured. In most cases though, the problems come back over the course of years. The studies found in children are exceptionally at a higher rate of completely curing these bronchial ailments when treated in the caves as young children, as opposed to being an adult. The first cave to open its mine to children was in 1972. The Childrens Department at the Barska Bystrica Hospital would take their ailing youth to the caves for treatment and they would be cured, or relieved for several years into the future.
This is where the Western government and healthcare system comes into play. The reason for the dismissal of this practice in the U.S. seems to be about the money that will be lost in the pharmaceutical market and the clinical trials of new prescription medicines will fall to a low that could be unprecedented for our country. The financial corporations that depend on the use of the prescriptions that we use for asthma, bronchitis, cystic fibrosis, and emphysema would fail and bankrupt causing a domino effect around the country. The The governments risk to keep its citizens sick rather than to let this therapy come to light is a huge one to take. The more the people of the United States find out about the healing elements for their relief of their breathing problems is right around the corner will cause our healthcare system and pharmaceutical industry to shift and the population will gain access to the salt therapy. It would be wise if the United States will conform to the use and practice of Speleotherapy/Halotherapy here, as opposed to banning it and dismissing the positive proof of salt therapy. As a country with ailing citizens we need to determine the real truth behind the natural and resourceful way to involve Halotherapy/Speleotherapy into the lives of Americans and discover as to why the United States is less than enthused to provide this alternative medicine to its people, therefore discovering the financial cover up through social control.
