You're Just Spoiled

Page 1, A poem written for Augustine 02/17/2013

A pair of jeans and a top

not made by Mom, not bought by Pop

I don't want Mom's and I don't want Sis's

I want the best like these's and this's.

You wont find me in them either

I'm the brother and I'll wear neither

I want these Nike's and those Levi's

Dad throws up hands and Mom cries.

You're just spoiled ungrateful teenagers

thinking you have to have brand named clothes

Back when we were young we did savor

every hand me down even if it was old.

Ah, Mom and Dad, that was then

and this is now, but you've forgotten

You kids think that we're the mint

but no we're not, we just spoiled you rotten.

You've got to be kidding, they'll laugh at me

Oh really, we made it, and we're alive

Well I'm gonna be sick, I'll die in these

You'll be just fine, now no more of your jive.

You're just spoiled ungrateful teenagers

thinking you have to have brand named clothes

Back when we were young we did savor

every hand me down even if it was old.
