Lunar Snail: A Book Report

Author's note: For those who have read both A.S.P.T. and Lunar Snail, it should be clear by now the latter is a story within a story. I (Gerard Valencia or Christian Valencia-Vasquez) am still the author of this work. For the sole purpose of this piece, I will write it as a young boy named Romeo Clashwish, who only exists within the fictional world of Terrathos; the same world Skye and the characters of A.S.P.T. inhabit. Also, since this is written with the voice of a child in fourth grade, expect to come across some bizarre sentences.

LUNAR SNAIL: A BOOK REPORT

In our world, Planet Terrathos, the book Lunar Snail was first published in the United Republic of Anthos in 1959.

Lunar Snail is written by Russian immigrant and writer G. Rasputin (born January 22, 1917, died December 30, 1975). In our world he wasn't the infamous "Mad Monk" from Planet Earth. Just so you know, Earth is a world that exists in another dimension and is little like ours. Earth is found in star system Sol, while we are in star system Lucifer. Earth's Rasputin died in 1916 and was a very bad guy. He was a bad person. Who killed the royal family of Russia and a girl named Anastasia. He was a bad man.

Grigori was a Human Theo like me! His heritage made him controversial at the time because of discrimination against human Theos, who the stupid Klans (KKK) and moron Nazis said we were monsters who didn't deserve an education and should be confined to do labor work. That sucks! Other controversy included the Red Scare that made Anthosians suspicious of anyone who came from the Soviet Union.

Rasputin's distinctive horns, the ones all Theos have on the sides of their heads, and his mean look from growing old made him a scary individual. People compared him to horror movie monsters Frankenstein's Creature and Dracula. In reality he was a good person, those who got to know him said he was very shy and peaceful, and liked caring for his garden and feeding his doves every day.

People believe Rasputin was a Communist and wrote this story for Capitalists and to avoid revealing his secret. He wanted to continue. He was afraid, hoping to continue to live peacefully in Anthos the Land of Dreams and Opportunities.

Like in many works of fiction, the classification of people in the story was not told. This means you didn't know if they were Theos, Hommes or Homptilians.

The Red Scare happened because the Soviet Union wanted to make the first moon landing on our smallest moon, Concordia. They used the spacecraft Sputnik 2 piloted by super-dog Laika during World War II. In Terrathos the war lasted until 1973 and on Earth until 1945. Before I forget, Laika could speak like a human thanks to a voice box surgically inserted in her throat. Contrary to popular belief, Laika asked to get belly rubs and feed fried centipede stew that was her favorite dish. Yummy!

Anthos also sent the spaceship Poseidon 4 a decade later. We landed on our largest moon, Luna, in July 1969. It was piloted by human Homme astronaut Rocco Havok. According to reports Havok claimed there was an incident at Luna that killed all his crew. His spacecraft disintegrated on its way back to Terrathos and the brave astronaut died. Only footage of the landing on Luna's surface and the Anthos flag on the surface of the moon was broadcasted around the world. Havok is still remembered for his heroic feat and there is even a statue of him at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Capital City, DC (where the President and Parliament live).

However, some conspiracies say the government is hiding the truth about the landing and what killed Havok's crew. Some say Havok survived and is kept at Area-1051 for the rest of his life after the government recovered his craft and faked his demise. In 2034, Rocco Havok would have been 104 years old, since he was born in 1930. I doubt he is still alive, Hommes usually live 80 years. Theos live 65 years. Homptilians are said to live the longest because of their regenerative powers, 100 years or more.

Instructor's Comments: This was without doubt an interesting and creative take on our nation's history. I can see you put a lot of effort into the assignment. However, this was supposed to be a book report on the book you read. Stay on topic! Save the alien worlds (never heard of a planet Earth, you get points for originality) and conspiracy theories for the upcoming creative writing assignment. With your active imagination I am sure you will enjoy it!
