Chapter 1: A Conversation About Freedom.
On a clear starry Night at the Quinn Plantation, at a small house far from a chicken coup, Benjamin was laying in his bed, he started tossing and turning, until he saw some light coming from underneath his bedroom door, he got up out of bed, tip-toed toward the closed door, he put his ear on the door, he heard his big brother, Joseph talking to their father, Jonathan, They were talking about Freedom.
"Papa, I can't stand being in this place, I have to escape to freedom, It's the only way", Joseph said.
"Joseph, It's madness, You know what happened to the last person that tried to escape, he got sold off, and I don't want that happening to you, and your mother don't want that either", Jonathan replied.
"But, Papa, I have to go, I've heard there's these people that can help me escape to freedom, and as soon as I can get settled, I'll send for you and mama, Benjamin and Elizabeth, I'ves got to do this", Joseph said.
"Ok, but be careful", Jonathan said.
"I will, Papa, I promise", Joseph replied.
Benjamin was startled at what he had heard, He decided that he's not going to tell no-one what he heard, he went back to bed.
