The Slave Trade Words

All beaten and chained up

I sit here               alone

With no clue where my family are

I want to go back home,

I cried for my mother

But for that I was beaten

I'm starving and thirsty

I've barely eaten.

It's dark and damp and cold

While I'm sitting in the mold

I hear the people cough

And splutter,

It smells of a gutter,

I hear the captain shouting orders

To the people on the ship

My lips have dried

I cannot speak.
