The Witness

Chapter 1: Lake Eerie

Ever since Shane Johnson died, I vowed to never go near that lake. I'm not the new kid on the block, so I know everyone in the neighborhood. And trust me, everyone around here talks about Lake Eerie, one who enters that lake never comes back. The most weird thing is, everyone in my neighborhood is slowly disappearing, my grandparents say they probably went on Vacation or might have moved. But I know something's wrong, saying all of them went into Lake Eerie There's someone who wants everyone gone. That's why I'm never going near that lake! Today the most horrible thing happened. Andy Peterson was found dead by lake. How? No one knows, all we know is that he was laying in the cold lake, shriveled up, his face as pale as could be. My Granddad's a police officer so he tells me stuff going around near the lake. Another story was a little girl who was 8 years old was playing by the lake, well the next morning she was found dead with a E made out of her blood on her neck. Everyone who had died in Lake Eerie had some sort of sign, a E marked on their neck and slits on their body. The Police officers couldn't explain any sort of strange behavior going around the lake, but people witnessed feeling bizarre things like being watched…. They felt something was going to come…. Closer…. But when they turned there was nothing. My Grandparents don't believe in any of that stuff.
"Granddad its true!" I said.
"Sam, stop this nonsense there's no serial killer by the lake!" Granddad said.
"There is, I'm serious!" I yelled.
"Honey you should listen to your Granddaddy, he sure ain't lying to you, there's no one by that lake!" Grandma said interrupting. I knew what I had to do. I'm going to that lake, tonight. I have to know what's going on. Before….. Before, everyone is gone.
