9:03 A.M.
It was a cold day, and the Arklay Mountain breeze wasn't helping at all. The crew had come into the Arklay Mountains looking for the downed S.T.A.R.S. helicopter and the previous operatives sent to find it. Of course a group of rookie officers piled into a squad car isn't really considered a search party, but the R.C.P.D. had to do something. The officers include Devin Brooks, Sarah Brooks (His wife), Justin Koonce, David Boyd, Marcus Kane, and Joshua Ferguson. They had been driving since seven, and were getting anxious. In the distance, they saw smoke, but figured it was from a cottage or hut, seeing as how a helicopter wouldn't smoke for over a month. They saw a man clamber across the road in front of them, and followed him, but lost his trail when he went into the underbrush. They all piled out, and began to search the nearby greenery, and eventually found bloody footprints.
Devin: Something is hurt.
Marcus: No s*** sherlock.
Josh: Haha. Funny. Focus on the mission.
Sarah: It headed towards that hut, let's check it out.
Justin: Seems like the best idea.
DJ:...
The group took off on foot, and in about three minutes, reached the cottage. Inside there was rustling, Marcus opened the door, and stuck his handgun inside, aiming it at the man that was clambering around.
Marcus: Sir, hands where I can see them.
Man: Weggehen. [go away in German]
Marcus: Hands up or I fire.
Man: WEGGEHEN!
The man lumbers towards Marcus, who fires several rounds into his chest, killing him. As they inspected his body, they noticed what appeared to be a dogs bite marks on his leg, then there was a loud barking noise, and scratching on the side of the cottage, DJ quickly shut and bolted the door, and through a small peep hole you could see a odd looking creature clawing at the door, it was all tendons, muscles and bone. On it's head, it's brain sat unprotected, and it thrust a bone claw throught the wood. Justin pulled out his magnum and fired throught the door, hitting it in the head, killing it. There was a long, odd silence for a while, then D.J. breathed a sigh of releif. The immenant threat was gone, but if only they knew of the horrible futere that was in store...
