DR. RAFI KHAN’S:
House of the Landlords
It was 1999 in the village of Jaipurhat, it was cold and gloomy. In the middle of the village, it was decorated with lights and lamps. The signboards were written as:
মহা বিবাহে আসার জন্য শ্বাগতম
(Welcome to the Royal Wedding)
People were enjoying the wedding. During that, a little girl was with a bride.
The little girl asked “May I play with the others?”
“Yes, but don’t go to the corridor” said the bride.
Then she played with the others. Suddenly, she heard a strange sound calling the little girl but no one heard of the sound except her. The little girl followed the sound unconsciously through a staircase. She went upstairs curiously. Her football was dropped a bit slow. When she went inside, she found out that, the corridor was large and covered with green dust as it was made of expensive stones.
“Hello” cried the little girl.
“Hello! Are you there?”
“Oishi! I am coming!” said the strange baritone voice.
The little girl, Oishi ran away through downstairs. She was scared with hype. She ran down and down. Then she slipped off from the stairs. When all saw her, she was unconscious. People were crying that what ‘really’ happened to the girl? Some people were saying that she should not go to the forbidden corridor.
The bride cried “OISHI! OISHI! Are you all right!”
She could not answer while she was unconsciously cried for help. Then a man with a spectacle and a suit gave her a bucket of water. One of the villagers asked “who are you?”
“I am Dr. Rafi Khan and the groom himself” replied the man.
Most of the villagers applauded.
