Angel. The name rang in my ears. She was perfect. Absolutely perfect. Long dark curls adorned her face perfectly, always tied up in a ribbon. I remember watching her tie it up like that so many times. Two silvery eyes were placed on her face in just the correct way, giving a specific elegance to her. Her features were petite.

Angel never spoke too much. I think it's because she was missing teeth. Her father had been abusive. When she had backtalked him, he knocked three of her teeth out. Once, she picked her mother some flowers from the garden. He got angry and told her not to take those specific flowers. Later, she picked some more, forgetting what her father said, so he cut off her left hand.

Her father had beaten her so many times that she wasn't even able to walk. She limped everywhere, and that bastard wouldn't even let her use a cane. He was a true monster. When I first laid eyes on Angel, I didn't notice all of her faults. All I could see was this beautiful girl. She was perfect. A dream. She couldn't see me at first, just hear me, but I never could hear her. She rarely opened her mouth, but when she would, the world would stop. I knew that she wouldn't say a thing unless it was important to her, or to everyone. Angel's voice was so soft and so elegant. It was like, as her name states, an angel. It was perfect. She was perfect.

When she first saw me, she was frightened. But--- I'm an incubus! If you were a thirteen year old girl, wouldn't you also be scared that a sex demon suddenly appeared in your room? She had just recieved a beating from her father, and was bleeding. At first, she jumped and even screamed a little. I offered to bandage her legs, and her face lit up as if no kindness had ever been shown to her. Then we talked for a little while and she told me her story. I cried a little, then hugged her, knowing we were about to build a friendship.

Now, I sit here, blonde hair in my face, head in my hands, weeping. I hold a little ring in my hands. Size six. I stare at the beautiful diamond in the center, then flip it over to see the engraving. Angel Liolet..

I guess it's time I back up a little. I'll start from the beginning. I'll start the moment I truly met her.
