Clutter of key chains… running footsteps… scuffle… and a scream that could wake the dead.
The story goes that a young girl went to school one day and never came back out. No one knew what became of her, she was invisible. She was just that girl in the back of class with no friends, but the smartest one in class. That one loner kid that stayed inside during breaks and wandered the halls; the one that spent most of her time reading or doing some sort of handicraft; she made her own key chains and always wore them around her wrists. She was the peculiar one; she was that girl that appeared to be lost, a wandering soul. Which could have explained why no one paid any attention to her, they only remember the key chains she wore around her wrist and the way they always made a clattering noise when she walked.
After a year from when she was reported missing, she was declared dead, and only her family ever grieved. No one atschool knew her well enough to give a damn. Then out of nowhere kids at the school kept turning up dead in the most horrifying, bizarre ways: One kid had computer cords tied around his neck and a pencil in his eye. Another had a desk leg piercing his gut, wentall the way through. And the most recent one had his throat and a wrist slit from scissors, and was stabbed about 16 times, was electrocuted and the body dumped in the bathroom.....
The blood bath of it all.........
Some believed that it was the young girl’s spirit taking revenge on the students for making her school life hell. Others thought that it was some sick bastard causing trouble and damning his soul to the devil himself. But no one truly knew the how or the why........
With all the deaths that happened spots opened up in no time.
So arrived a new girl...she came to the school prepared to make a fresh start for herself and a new image for herself.
She of course had no idea that death had plagued the school, nor the idea of the alleged curse, none of it. She entered her first class and looked for aplace to sit. She saw that there were three seats open she looked at one all the way in the back that was in the middle and never gave it a second thought. Then she looked at another one in a backcorner and mentally said no to that. Then she looked over to a seat that was far enough away from the rest of the class to blend in but not too far that she was in her own separate little island, and took a seat.
The kids in the classroom looked at her in bewilderment. She noticed that all eyes were on her, she just guessed that it was because she was new and nothing more.
But then they wouldn't stop staring and finally, she spoke up and said, "What?”
Silence coated the room, pen dropping silence. Then a kid finally spoke up but to no more than a whisper and said, "You totally avoided that dead girl’s seat and the other one where Billy sat." They all silently agreed and the girl just sat there confused and decided to not pay any mind to it. Or so she promisedherself.
It was hard to not get curious because the whispers followed her everywhere. All about her and how she sat in a chair. It all sounded odd beyond words to her.
Then a sympathetic soul came up to her and he said "Come with me." Curious at what he wanted to show her, she followed but asked no questions.
Then they stopped at a type of memorial, and he points to it and says, "This is the dead girl’s memorial, the one whose seat you avoided. She was declared dead after like a year of being missing. They say she died here and that now her spirit plagues the school. You avoiding her seat was like a sign that you knew that there was something not right. Hence the immediate popularity, everybody just loves to gossip."
Her eyes opened wide and understanding dawned on her.
"Thanks for explaining it to me." She said grateful for the end of her confusion yet annoyed that people could be so stupid as to believe in “signs” and “omens”.
The guy nodded and started to walk away. Then he turned back and said with a cryptic voice, “Be warned she may not like it that you, the new girl, are already a celebrity. So be on your guard always, because she’s a sad and angry soul hungering for what she wants most dear."
"What would that be?” the girl asked the guy, not sure whether or not to take it seriously or not.
"Revenge." he said simply with a tinge of sadness.
"Revenge?" asked the girl, dubious at the guy’s sense of sanity.
He nodded and said, "You better watch your back." With that he walked away to let her ponder her new-found knowledge.
Never would she ever had dreamed that the warning held truth, or that she was going to need it.
If only somebody knew how much danger there was, maybe they wouldn't have let the kids go to school but they did; and are now paying the price for it.
Shortly afterwards, instead of finding one dead kid every once in a while they found all the Seniors and Juniors dead--one giant bloody massacre. The walls of the school were rumored to be caked in blood, the stench unbearable.
The bodies just kept coming, and not all complete either. No one could find the cause or the link to any of the murders. Later on, the school board decided to shut down the school and hold a mass memorial for all the dead, all the lost. After a mourning period the old school would be demolished and a new one rebuilt far away from the original one.
