Chapter 1: Falcón Heights
The small town of Ojai Valley has been known for disappearances of tourists but lately, the very people who live here have been disappearing as well. That's why my mom is sending me to a secret private school that only the richest people know about in order to keep me safe from the invisible predators that sneak around at night. But there has also been very horrible things happening at the school as well, people turning into stone, animals going mad, and students never returning back from tours. My mom thinks I will be safe here? I highly doubt I will be, knowing me since I love the sense of danger and the words excitement and adventure appear on my must-have list, I'll most likely be the first ones of us new students to disappear into the night. That's not reallya problem for me anyway since I hate almost everybody in this town, they just don't know how to keep to themselves anymore and they always want to know your every problem, well they aren't goanna know mine. Oh by the way my names Sapphire Night and I'm a junior in high school. My mom and dad divorced over three years ago over television issues, if you didn't like what the other person was watching just go and find it on the computer or at a local library instead of divorcing and spending money trying to settle disputes. That's why I have never had a boyfriend in my life, boy's equal complication as far as I'm concerned and who needs one anyway? I can take care of myself just fine. I do have a close male friend though and he is not human. He is my cat Diamond. Yeah I know what you're thinking, you loner go make real friends, well I did make a real friend and besides since dogs can be a guys best friend, a cat can be mine. It sucks though because I can't take my cat with me to the private school since they have a strict rule on pet animals, but it's not like my cat stinks or poops everywhere so I'm just goanna take him with me…somehow.
