She took a deep breath and instantaneously an overwhelming smell of bleach filled her lungs and burnt her eyes, causing her to rub them. She had stayed in this house longer than she had cared and already she could feel her mentality start to break!

She checked her watched and saw that it read 5:45. Fear gripped her throat. She had just fifteen minutes before the sun rose and it was lights out for everyone! She needed to kill or be killed, right? That was Blade's rule. But, how could she kill innocent blood? She didn't have the guts in her!

She looked about the room she was in. It was small and the ceiling hung low, had it not been for the broken window in front of her, the irritating tick tock of the grandfather clock around the corner, and the piercing darkness she thought the room could at least have a warmth too it once the tiny fireplace was lit; however due to Blade's rule no one was allowed to have light and that was how she stayed alive as long as she did, following Blade's sick rules. The only light that lit up the room was the small candle upon a table downstairs that was slowly burning out.
