Recurring nightmares about my possessive ex-boyfriend. (From his perspective.)

I remember when she loved me,

When she was all mine,

Mine to hold, Mine to break,

These things she promised me.

I thought I'd saved her,

From a great mistake,

Thought I had her,

All mine to break.

I'd fall to my passions,

And break her heart.

She'd never forgive me,

Never love me again.

Something changed her mind,

Something made her different.

It pained me when she told me the truth,

I'd thought she wasn't like the rest.

Maybe it wasn't me,

But instead it was her fear,

She held secretly from me.

In her repose,

I found her all alone.

So beautiful,

Lying on her bed.

Shaking,

I found my heart breaking.

Why wouldn't she let me love her?

What on earth did I do to scare her away?

Hot tears seep down my face.

She promised to be good to me.

To love me.

To let me break her...

These promises I shall steal.
