Behind a mask
You can last
Only for so long

Exposure comes with a whisper of
(A whisper of)
“What have you done?”

A patient of a patient (doctor)
Your fingers itch for more of it
Nothing adds up in this
The meds are gone
And it would take
A miracle to save this case

“They buried her today”
Which one was she?
They blend together with your sanity

Chasing monsters in disguise
Do they deserve to die?
Ignorance is a paradise

Are these instincts
What reduced you
To what you are inside?

A jury had no trouble on
The weight of this case in turn
A witness, a confession,
“Oh what an unholy crime”

“They buried her today”
Which one was she?
“They buried her today”
Blending insanity

Call the police and make
Sure to remember (everything, it’s important)

All the king’s horses and all the king’s men
Were sent to put them all back together again
But it was too late
“Did you see the remains?”

You’re a caged rat,
And a subject
To every experiment
A breath with no oxygen

You wish to wash this off?
You can’t.
