Poem challenge by Neno. Had to write a dark poem based on a selected picture.
Uh . . . yeah, no idea where this came from. XD
Enjoy! :)

Glowing Friends . . .
My glowing friends.
Your heat around me, surrounding my body with warmth,
I see how you smile
As the flame flickers in the gleam of the moon.
Nightfall reigns this domain now;
The stars have no place here.
Even I, a woman of the dark,
Know not to dwell in the realm of memories,
The very place that opens its arms to me without hesitation,
Because of the snaring vine that can snatch me.
My faithful friends.
You know the time has come
To smother the light that attempts to hold a place
In that black, dripping core
I call my heart.
I look away from you, friends,
For do you not see how your light sends quivers
Through my skin?
My friends . . .
You see how the moon laughs at us?
A symbol to the night . . .
Yet he glows like you, if not fuller.
Forget the moon, friends.
You are with me now.
A goddess of cold night-
A goddess of jesting shadows . . .
A fallen angel of the frosted tips
That lay upon a gust's fingers.
My friends . . .
I appreciate your warmth . . .
Even if it has no effect.
