Horror Haiku Collection: Dawn of the Undead

Poetry By: Philip Roberts
Horror

As long as you make a short, sharp statement with each haiku, the theme can be anything. In this collection I have given a mixture of vampire and horror verses.

BONY FINGERS GRASPING
Bony fingers grasping
So tightly around your neck,
Wringing out your life.

THE BOOK OF THE DEAD
Evil words are written
On parchment of tanned flesh,
Using blood for ink.

A CRUMBLY OLD HOUSE
Moaning cries are heard
Eerie rattling chains within,
A crumbly old house.

A CRY OF DISTRESS
A cry of distress
Rings out in the silent night,
Monstrous things are done.

CTHULHU'S MESSENGERS
Dreadful nightmares
Of long-forgotten beings:
Cthulhu's messengers.

DANGER
(I)
Impending peril looms
Your heart beats like a drum,
Danger slowly nears.

DANGER SIGNS AT NIGHT
Danger signs at night
Evil magic symbols shine,
Terror lives again.

DARK EVIL DESCENDS
Dark evil descends
Captured souls writhe in torment,
Hoping soon to die.

DARK IMPULSES
Dark impulses control
Your every action,
In the small of night.

DARK IMPULSES OF THE NIGHT
Dark impulses rule
Your life; and control your deeds,
In the eerie night.

DARK MOON
Dark moon looking down
Watches evil being done,
By creatures of the night.

DARK SHADOWS OF THE NIGHT
Night's dark shadows hide
All manner of evil,
Lurking just beyond sight.

THE DARK SIDE OF THE NIGHT (I)
Dark side of night, where
Evil stalks the alleys, to
Search for lone victims.

DARK STAR (I)
Dark star sends no warmth
Down to the chilled minions,
Of this wasted land.

DARK STAR CAPTURING
Unearthly wailing
The dark star touches its prey;
Capturing their souls.

DARK STAR SEARING
Dark star sears its prey
Charring them through to the soul,
Leaving them to die.

A DARK SYMPHONY
A dark symphony
Played by Satan's orchestra,
Of tormented souls.

DAWN OF THE UNDEAD (II)
Evil, shambling fiends
Stalk the loathsome night;
Hunt unwary travellers.

DEATH COMES A CALLING
Death comes a calling
To woo you to its side,
Never more to part.

DEATH COMES CALLING (I)
Horror floods your system
You're drowning in your fear,
As death comes calling.

DEATH WALKERS (II)
Night walkers stumble
Through the dark, deserted streets,
On legs stiff from death.

DEATH WEBS
Strange travellers hunt
Giant, ravenous spiders;
Spinning webs of death.

THE DEVIL'S CHILD
Daughter of Satan
She's the devil's child (your bride!);
A woman from hell.

DEVOLUTION: RETROGRADE EVOLUTION (II)
Human devolution
To forms too monstrous,
To even contemplate.

A DIRE PORTICO
A dire portico:
A gateway through which evil,
Slinks into our world.

THE DEATH MARCH BEATING (I)
The death march beating
Keeping perfect tempo with the
Rhythm of your heart.

THE DEATH MARCH GOES ON
A symphony plays
"Music to scream by". For you
the death march goes on.

THE DEATH OF HOPE
Morbid fantasies
Of times now past: when all hope
first began to die.

DEATH TOTEMS
Totems call up death
In the evil night-time where,
Native gods live on.

DEATH WALKERS (I)
Night walkers stumble
Through dark and deserted streets,
On legs stiff from death.

DEMON WINDS
Evil winds howling
Make you shiver from terror;
Sending death your way.

THE DEMON WITHIN
The demon within
Shattering our lives and hopes,
Doing evil deeds.

DEPRAVITY
Such pent-up ravings
When all sanity seems lost,
To depravity.

DESIRES
Prowling late at night
Out searching for victims,
To sate his desires.

DESPERATE HUNTERS
Creatures on the prowl
Across this lifeless planet,
Desperate for food.

THE DEVIL'S DESIGN
The devil's design
Is to corrupt the good, and
Then claim the fallen.

THE DEVIL'S PATTERN
Preying on the weak
Granting fanciful wishes,
Wishes never kept.

DRAGONS
Winged, harnessed dragons
Ridden into battle by,
Knights in shining mail.

THE GOLEM
Face roughly human
Limbs as large as dinner plates,
Small atrophied ears.

A GORGON SITS
Medusa sitting
Inside your mirror; watching
Your every move.
