Thirteen
A child of Wednesday, full of strife
Was forcibly torn into the world’s cruel life.
Now back the road from whence she came;
She walks to death and to darkness again.
Knowledge fueled by petty desire,
Has burnt the hand reach’d to the fire.
And a moonlit graveyard sets the scene
For the final dance of Nevermore’s queen.
‘Behold to all that do pass by,
As you are now, so once was I…
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me.’

Beauty’s evil twin reflection
Marred the ‘face of her complexion.
The elegance of midnight hides her face;
She’s all tied up in her leather and lace.
Her inner demons sway and skip
To the tune of a beater’s whip.
The soul’s release has come too late
To block the tears; the pain; the hate.
‘Behold to all that do pass by,
As you are now, so once was I…
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death and follow me.’
Prepare for death and follow me.’
The pain is rising; the petals fall
The death of one will save us all.
For in the end it came to this:
They killed the one no man would miss.
A demon child, into evil slipping;
With wings of night come shadows ripping.
An echo of a memory time forgot
Tells her it has come to naught.
A child of Wednesday, full of woe
Handed a fate she did not sow;
And when she dies, bound in a spell
She ‘leashed on the world a living hell.
