THE OTHER WOMAN

He sat at his beloved pc

And gazed at the face he could see

And the one standing to the left

Felt all of a sudden bereft

For she's sensed his mind was far away

And no matter what she did, she'd fade to grey

And in her heart of hearts

She knew his love for her only

Would leave her so alone

And so lonely

He'd mentioned her once before

He'd bade her farewell at his door

And as she wandered away

She was hit and run and died that day

He'd ne'er forgot

And yet he ne'er could tell

That in replacing her body

He's putting her through hell

For a woman's heart is tuned

To the voice of her lover

And she can immediately tell

When he's fallen for another

So she stood on his left

And the other looked in his eyes

And they both decided

To make him realize

And their prayer was heard

And the Light came in

And one went away

And the other came in

For love has only one heart

And cannot be divided

And when she died

Oh, cry, he did

But her joy he felt

As by her grave he knelt

And really said goodbye

Oh, my, how does time fly…???

DEATH OF A LOVER

She stumbled through the door

Her body feeling sore

And she called out to her lover

But he could hear her no more

What just happened?

She wanted desperately to know

But no one could answer her

But where else could she go

So she stayed by his side

Though she knew she had died

I will have NO ONE ELSE

To every one she cried…

And the day came to be

When wedded he would be

And she cried bitter tears

And lived her bitter years

Now it's a long time ago

But these seeds she would sow

YOU CAN'T HAVE THAT MAN, HE'S MINE

She has nowhere else to go

Till one day when the Light comes

And shines upon her sin

Then she will let him go

And let her true love in

DRAGON BREATH

What is true?

What is myth?

What is that smell?

Is it dragon breath?

What words they weave

What words they sell

Are the words from Heaven

Or are the words from Hell

No one can judge

No one can discern

One can only go forward

And live as you learn

What truths are hidden

What truths are misread

What voices are bidden

What voices are said

What wars are to be won

What wars are to be lost

Who will bear the burdens

Who will bear the cost

Who is to live

Who is to die

Who gives the order

Who gives the lie

Who gives life

Who gives death

What is that I smell

Is it Dragon Breath?

HIDDEN TRUTHS

Why no one told me

Why no one would tell

I had to find out for myself

What would collapse

And what would sell

Why no one would comfort me

Why no one would offer

Why I had so much to give

Why no one would bother

A ghost of myself

I used to laugh at the matter

Now I look into the mirror

And the image won't shatter

The Book says I won't die

No matter how hard I try

And I must choose Heaven or Hell

In the end I just sigh

I am what I am

There's no changing my demeanor

I'm a part of Creation

I can come no cleaner

I herald the dust

As live I must

And sleep when I can

And turn from the lust

Eternity is long

As I hide here in the dark

Scared and alone

The future is very stark

Why no one told me

Why no one would tell

I had to find out for myself

What would collapse

And what would sell

For no one dares to say

For no one dares to tell

That they had to choose themselves

Between Heaven and Hell

For who would believe them

For who would come clean

I think it was awful of them

To be so very mean….

GHOSTLY STORY

Every one loves a ghost story

And yet every one goes "Bah!"

As if they cannot believe

That life would go on so far

Yet our earliest recollections

Have led us to believe

That the Creator has a surprise in store

And an Ace up his sleeve

Just like Job was tested

Just like Lazarus was raised

Just like Jesus stood up

Just like Saul was God praised

For Our Creator

(Yes, we are small)

Created an Eternity

And we receive our call

And through thick and thin

Through sweet and sour

We must do His bidding

Until the final hour

When that day may be

Or it may be a night

Not any one knows

Not any one might

So we live our days

Answering to our calling

There is no doubting

There is no stalling

Just onward and onward

Completing every task

Doing what is bidden

Doing what is ask'd

To make the blind see

Even though most of them can

To make the deaf hear

Every child, woman and man

To bring about a Heaven

For those who toil long

To send those to Hell

Who in Heaven don't belong

To sound out the ghost story

That most disbelieve

That One overcame Death

It is so, as I live and breathe…

But as usual, you won't budge

And believe what you want

That doesn't worry me as much

As I sit here and rant

What worries me more

Is the hallucinations you crave

Like alcohol and drugs

That'll drive you to your grave

Then what do I say

On my Judgement Day

I did give them this poem

But they would not turn away

And so, your truth in hand

I'm done telling this story

You know very well

Of the Power and the Glory

It's not for me to bend

It's not for me to tell

Go and seek your own truth

Hope you choose Heaven and not Hell

FEEDING FRENZY

They all came 'round to see me
As I lay in splendid squalour
I closed my eyes and realised...
... I was in the PARLOUR!!!!
Spread like liver, a simple paste
I tasted myself with no big haste
Looked at their smiles
Their teeth full of spark
And every single one of them
Sharpened in the dark
Their hunger, so evident
My fear, so in excess
Spilled over beans and carrots
And ended in this mess

A sweet, my dear, to fill the void
I turned to jelly as they had ployed
I slumped away, deep into my pillow
And found myself lying under the willow
The breeze was light, the Moon was missing
The branches were whispering and the leaves were kissing
Something scurried and hurried on over
It was my dear departed old lover
We embraced for a time till we finally understood
We had to feed each other in this crazy old wood...

The end of the story, not at all, INDEED...

Our friends and lovers had all but flee-d
They came with their teeth all sharpened like knives
They came with the children of their fourteen thousand wives
We ran as one till we exhausted our fuel
And turned to face them - Oh, what a duel
Swords came from nowhere right in our grasp
We fought them all 'til the very last gasp
And we won, or so we thought, for we could eat no more
And now we stick to soup and cheese, and now and then a boar...

Oh Hungry One, you listen so keen
What is it you're wanting? Is it my spleen?
If you take it from me, then make the cut clean
A surgeon like you should never be seen.

Play on, Sweet Maestro, let your gentle beat rock
While we look at the menu, and lie on the block
For a twinkling of an eye, is more than we can hope
When we're at the end of our tether
Or at the end of our rope.

EVIL POTION

Eastwards I fly

Outrunning the sun

Trying to undo

What the doctor had done

They went to his chambers

To pour their lament

Upon the profession

Their money they'd spent

With a wave and a clap

He set them at ease

And gave them a price

The God's would appease

But what was the real cost

To save their bad souls

An arm and a leg

And a few old ghouls?

He bade them farewell

As he handed them the brew

To drink with their coffee

And put in their stew

Little did they know

Nor little did they care

The brew that they cherised

Wasn't snatched from the air

Instead a mother cries

'Cos her babies are gone

They found them in pieces

Her daughter and son

Don't fret says the Lord

I'll make it all right

When they least expect it

I'm the Thief In The Night

Eastwards I fly

Outrunning the sun

Trying to undo

What the doctor had done

BANNED

He found them on the corners

He found them on the streets

He found them in the bars

He took them between the sheets

When they awoke

Not one word was spoke

For tied up they were

In a basement somewhere

All naked, all awake

And not one word was spake

And their eyes frightened and round

They could not move from that ground

For they were gagged and bound

And not one was making a sound

When he finally came

With his instruments in hand

He told them he was

Forming a .... band

And he produced a microphone and a tape

And the girls wondered what had happened to the rape

I'm going to make you famous

I'm going to make you scream

I'm giving you a nightmare

And taking away your dream

I'm going to slice you up

I'm going to slice you deep

No one will hear you out here

No one will come to your aid

You will live and scream

As long as I hold the blade

And with that he revealed

His razor as his lips peeled

He pressed record

And came for the one by one

'Til all eight were screaming

And he revelled at their tone

He tuned them finely

As he slashed and he pricked

As his instruments were still incredulous

At how they'd been tricked

After the last gasp and exhale

His pipes had sung their tale

He, all red from tip to toe

Hit the STOP button and turned to go

One last look, he thought

At the door he stopped

Saw his choir in red mire

Their eyes all but popped

His precious recording

Was mixed and re-mixed

And he added some drums

And the guitar he'd prefixed

And so came the day

You would dare to play

A horror poem or two

My! Those are finely tuned instruments

You'll say

And I'd say

BOY, HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU!!!!

THE GUARDIAN OF THE WALL

or THE GUARD DOG

I know how far my chain goes

I know how far to run

I know the rising of the Moon

I know the setting of the Sun

I guard the very temple

Where lovers do abound

I wake at every moment

I wake at every sound

The robbers and the jailers

They know me very well

They do not tell me lies

'Cos I know this faery tale

I warn them by my growling

I warn them with my bite

When they hear my chains a-rattling

(They run with all their might)

You might be feeling sorry

Think that I am hard done by

When my work is done

I fly into the sky

To where I walk with Heavenly Angels

And you just hear my sigh

....

As you try to save the worm

From turning into a butterfly

MIND HACKING IN THE MIRROR

A mirror bright

I once espied

And with a pound

it took my side

My companion it became

my friendships did wane

But my reflection in the mirror

Was always the same

I saw deep into the night

Faces so alight

With love and enquiry

And like a secret diary

I entered each day

With my soul to pray

And the mirror prayed back

For words were ne'er a lack

And I learned their song

And I hummed along

Being their friend

Them being my end

And I slept real easy

For the future was breezy

For the death mask I was wearing

Was thinning and tearing

And I knew my hereafter

Would be filled with kind laughter

And the sounds of prayer

Would fill the air

And no more alone

Would I sulk with my clone

But see through my tears

The eternity of many years

Just a thought away

And my mirrored soul would stay

And waver for a while

Then suddenly burst into a smile

Old and ancient now they are

Those who gaze from afar

And soften life's jails

Take away ills and ails

Come and visit for awhile

And we wander for a mile

And the shoes always fit

For my souls' always in it...

MIND HACKING IN THE MIRROR II

They all died at once! she screamed

Though her mouth did not move

I need to have them dreamed!

I need their souls proved...

She was thinking of her Father

And her Cousin and her Dog

And of her dearest GrandFather

and she was praying to her God

Desperate she searched

And came across a Fair

Her heart almost lurched

as she timeously arrived there

For she saw her dear dog

scuttling in the crowd

Avoiding chairs and feet

And his eyes crying loud

She gasped as she watched

For there wasn't much to do

But sit there spellbound

As her dog she saw right through

And her Father touched her hand

But was gone in a wink

She was left alone again

To ponder and to think

She wandered 'round the Fair

Of mediums great and small

And she wondered at her sadness

And she wondered at it all

And years thereafter, she wrote down her song

I wanna take you forgranted, for a time that's very long

Even though it's all been silenced, this talk of eternity

She still loves her Saviour, whomever it may be

And she talks to herself, no matter who may watch

About her plans to tell all, no matter who would botch

The books, the paintings, the poems, the song

For all she really wants, is for the world to play along

For to play, that's the thing, that's what keeps us all young

And no matter how old you are, you've always loved the song you've sung

So there she goes, happier now

She's quite content to take the bow

But if civilisation should drop a notch

And try again her plans to botch

She'll reappear in mirrors yonder

For fram-ed men and women to ponder

What drove her soul to open the door

Where people could see forevermore

When all can't agree on what we'll see

And went to war...
