The great circus fire

Poetry By: theredrockpetra

Just a poem that popped into my head after reading about a circus fire.

As the circus tent went up in flames,

the smoke rose up above

the hippos boiling in their vats,

the screeching of a dove

the ringmaster, he screamed and screamed

his coat-tails all aflame

the clowns all fled their tiny car

and saved the bearded dame

but in the horror and the fright

my focus did not stray

poor hippos boiling in their vats

still haunts me to this day
