This was a really short story that I did in a writing class I took today. The prompt was:
Mall
Robbery
Sixty two year old woman
Twelve year old boy

And we had fifteen to twenty minutes to come up with a story for it.
PLEASE tell me what you think of it! I don't mind hearing helpful criticism either

Helena remembered the robbery as if it was yesterday.
There had been so much blood.
Sometimes it felt like the blood was forever stained onto her skin. Sometimes Helena could still smell it all around her.
Such an innocent life had been lost that day.
"Bitte stop!" she had howled as the intimidating man had dragged her lovely baby boy away from her. Dimitri had only been twelve his usually laughing blue eyes now wide with terror as he was dragged away from his Mutti by his sunshine colored hair.
The man had taken Dimitri to use as a hostage so as to get the money he wanted from the bank.
But it had not worked for the police had steadily advanced upon him. And so in desperation the man had tossed the boy towards the police before letting loose a spray of bullets killing four, one of those having been Dimitri.
Since then Helena's hair had gone a steel gray and she had grown it to her hips now braiding it in a show of mourning.
The elderly woman wiped away the last of her bitter tears before getting up to leave. And as she headed to the gate she passed the robber's grave. A flicker of rage welled up and following her impulse she spat on the grave.
