Dreams Can’t Kill…
Chapter 1,
I thought maybe I was going crazy, watching all those creepy movies can really play with your mind. That’s what my friends and parents said anyway. I just need to stop thinking of it. I finished off my dinner and washed up the dishes; I got ready for bed and sat in my room. My mum walks into my room.
“Sweet heart, are you okay?” My mum walks in and asks me with a weird but worried look on her face.
“I’m fine mum...” I reply wishing she would just leave me alone.
“Are you sure? Because you know you can trust me right?” She asks me making me feel more annoyed.
I gave in, I just need to talk to someone about the problem I am having.
“Well, do you believe in ghosts?” I ask knowing what her reaction would be.
“Not this again Lilith. I have told you to stop with all this and stop thinking about it. You are just picturing it all in your head because of those silly movies you watch. Okay?” Mum begins to lecture me once again.
“I know, sometimes I think it might not be just all in my head. Sometimes I feel that it’s real...” I reply trying to explain to her knowing she will never understand.
Mum just gives me another weird look; she tends to do that a lot.
“Good-night Lilith” Mum says closing the door. I knew she wouldn’t believe me, I knew she would just say the exact same thing as she did the night before.
I turn out my lights and close my eyes. Before I knew it I woke up and look at my clock, its 3:01 just like the night before. Just like all of those other nights. This was no coincidence I thought to myself closing my eyes again. Then again as soon as it hit 3:02 BANG! I jump and sit up. Turn my lamp on and rush to open my door.
“Mum, was that you?” I yell out of my door.
As usual there was no reply.
“Mum? Hello? Is there anybody out there?” I yell, hoping someone will reply. Even if it means that it was one of my sisters or brother.
I walk outside of my door and down towards the staircase. BANG! I jump and turn around as it came from my bedroom and I see that my door was slammed shut. I turn the hallway light on and walk over to my door; I put my ear up against it. I hear a loud scratch on the other side of my door. I walk away from my door and run into something. I scream and turn around realising it was my mum standing there, once again giving me a weird but tired look.
“What are you doing up so late? I told you last night no more late nights.” Mum complains because I woke her up, again.
“I know, I know, something just woke me up that’s all.” I reply knowing I am going to get another lecture.
“Lilith, what did I tell you? This is all in your head; you better stop this right now!” Mum replies beginning to get really mad at me.
“I know, I am sorry good-night” I say walking away from her about to punch my wall because she never actually listens to what I have to say.
I turn around and see her close her door, I open my door and look around to see my lamp was off and my window was open. I turn my light on and close my window, open my door as wide as it can go leaving the hallway light on and turn my light off. I get into my bed, still really annoyed at my mum for not ever listening to me as her usual self. All she has for me is lectures and weird looks. No understanding and love. She is probably the one who is driving me crazy, I roll over and go to sleep. It felt like only 5 minutes later that my alarm goes off and wakes me up to be 7:30. I get out of bed and make it, have a shower and get ready for another boring day at school. Great, I think to myself picking up my school bag and walking down the stairs. I trip over and land on the ground.
“Learn how to walk you idiot” my brother Kyle laughs picking up his skate board and going out the front door. I stand up and say good-bye to my mum.
“Hold on a minute, I want to talk to you about last night.” My mum stops me; I feel another lecture coming on.
“What is there to talk about, didn’t we take care of this twice last night and the night before, who am I kidding all of this month?” I reply knowing my mum wouldn’t have realised that this had been going on for over a month.
“I have been trying to tell you that you are just imagining things, you won’t listen.” My mum starts with the lecture.
“Exactly, so there is nothing more for us to talk about, bye.” I go to walk away but she pulls me back.
My sisters Liza and Taylor walk past me laughing. I just roll my eyes I don’t really get along with any of my brother or sisters.
“Tell me Lilith, what are you exactly seeing?” My mum gives another one of those weird but worried looks again.
“Can we please talk about this when I get home; I have to go to school.” I made that up I didn’t really want to go to school but anything to get out of one of my mum’s weird looks and lectures.
I would definitely rather go to school.
“Okay, well I will see you this afternoon hunny bye.” She kisses me on the head and I rush out the door wiping her worthless kiss off.
I finally get to school and I see my friends Sophie, Melanie and Chelsea. I walk over to them.
“Hey guys” I say smiling, they all smile back as if they were relieved to see me.
They are the ONLY people on this earth who actually care that I am alive.
“Hey Lilith” Melanie says smiling back at me.
“Hey, how did you sleep last night?” Chelsea says always replying with a question.
“Hey, wait? What? Why what’s wrong with Lilith?” Sophie panics as her usual self.
She had been away for 2 months; she was on a holiday in New Zealand with her grandparents. So she had no idea any of this was going on.
“It’s nothing” I reply trying to avoid it all.
“No tell me please, you guys are making me worried.” Sophie panics even more.
“Lilith has just had some trouble sleeping, that’s all.” Chelsea replies to Sophie trying to calm her down.
“Are you sure?” Sophie looks into all of our eyes.
“I have just been hearing lots of banging and stuff at night, nothing serious.” I try to explain leaving all of those details I should have included.
“Yeah, you just are waking up EVERY morning at 3:01 and the banging starts as soon as it hits 3:02. Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention it’s been happening for over a month. That’s all Sophie, nothing to worry about.” Melanie explains sarcastically.
“WHAT!” Sophie then REALLY panics.
I look at Melanie as if to say thanks a lot and she just gives me a grin.
“So? Did it happen again last night?” Chelsea asks.
I sigh.
“Yes, as it has every night for the past month and few weeks. It won’t stop, and my mum won’t believe any of it.” I explain wishing someone would understand.
Sophie hugs me and Chelsea and Melanie join in.
“Why won’t my mum believe me though? It’s SO frustrating!” I begin to get annoyed at my mum once again, only this time she didn’t even have to be around to do it.
The girls stop hugging and start thinking of a way to make my mum believe me.
“I KNOW!” Chelsea of course knew a way, which was one of her best traits she always had a way to help.
“What is it?” Melanie and Sophie and I say all at the same time.
“Film it, like on paranormal activity. That got proof?” Chelsea suggests.
“NO WAY! That got them proof someone killed and a demon inside of someone, I am not doing that!” I instantly react to her idea.
“Besides no one actually knows if it’s a ghost or a demon, it could be either of them.” Melanie points out.
“Exactly sorry but I agree with Lilith and Melanie, Bad idea sorry Chelsea.” Sophie agrees.
“Okay, well maybe...” Chelsea gets interrupted by the school bell.
“Talk about this at lunch” Sophie says.
We all start heading to class. We were all in the same class but Sophie wasn’t in our class. We were sad about that. She was in our class but she got into a fight with a girl in our class and got moved. Sophie was a very sweet girl but don’t mess with her or any of her friends. We all felt bad because she didn’t have any friends what so ever in the class she was in. No one really likes Sophie she is just special.
