Just a short story that I wrote for a competition. I wrote this in about five minutes so it is very rubbish!

She was running. She could not stop running on to the beach, for sixteen of them were chasing after her. She had no idea what they were, but they had the figure of a human. They made very strange noises from their mouths, like the sound of a chocolate bar crunching in your mouth, but louder. Their eyes were bright yellow, almost as bright as the Sun. Their hair was black and spiky. Their lips were blue and wide - wide enough to eat an entire goat at once. They were about the same size as the average human, but they seemed much stronger, because earlier that day, the girl had witnessed one of them rip an entire mob of people almost in one go!

The sixteen year old girl, named Lici, ran and ran across the front of the beach, and these things had now surrounded her. Unfortunately, that meant that she had to run into the sea, so she had no idea if they were going to follow her or not.

"They might not like water", she said to herself.

The predators slowly moved towards the water, and as the water moved towards them, they stopped. Lici thought that she was now safe, but she thought wrong. One of the predators walked into the water, and began to move faster again. Lici tried to move away from them, but she wasn't a great swimmer! Again, the predators surrounded her, and she had no idea where to go next. Was it the end? The predators were getting closer, almost touching her! Lici now had nowhere to go, and the predators showed her their claws. Lici tried to jump under the water, but there was no hope for her. It was over. Her entire life flashed before her eyes. One of the predators picked her up by the throat, and said "it's time to die"...

Just then, a group of people dressed up as ninjas appeared out of nowhere. They got out their swords and sliced each of the sixteen predators' heads off. Lici was so grateful at that point. She got down on her knees and thanked them.

"It's OK", said the lead ninja, "it's what we do".

"I can't tell you how much I am grateful to you for killing those monsters!"

"Now it's your turn!" cried the lead ninja, laughing. Lici screamed. The ninja took out his sword and stabbed her right in her chest!

Lici woke up. It was only a dream.

"Thank God!" cried Lici.

It was only a dream - or was it?

The end!
