''Alexa, get up! You start your new school today and I don't want you to be late.'' Her mum yelled from downstairs.
Alexa tossed and turned and tried ignoring her mum which didn't last long as she ran upstairs nudging Alexa to get up.
"Mum, just let me sleep for five more minutes, i don't want to go in today." She said quietly as she raised her covers and placed them above her head.
"Alexa i mean it, you better get up now!" Her mum yelled, walking downstairs.
Alexa slowly got up and rubbed her eyes. The smell of coffee was slowly entering her room. She dragged herself out of bed and went downstairs.
"I'm awake now thanks to you, i don't see why you didn't leave me sleeping for another five minutes." She said as she opened a box of cereal.
"If i left you sleeping for another five minutes, you would of been late." Her mum said, placing a cup of coffee on the table.
Alexa ate her cereal and drank her coffee then ran upstairs. She quickly brushed her teeth and done her hair. She got dressed and sprayed her best perfume over her white blouse and put her new lipstick on.
"MUM, I'M READY." She screamed from the top of the stairs.
"You've not got your shoes on, hurry up and get your shoes on you're going to be late!" She said, dong her hair.
Alexa put her shoes on and fixed her hair whilst waiting for her mum.
They were both finally ready to leave. The door banged shut as they both got into the car.
The drive to school didn't take that long. The weather was getting better and the sun was appearing behind the trees. The school was huge and looked old. Spider webs hung from a few windows and green moss formed up the walls. The door was old wooden. Children scatttered everywhere in their own little groups.
Alexa looked at the children then back at her mum.
"I don't want to go anymore, i've changed my mind." She said, biting her lip nervously.
"Alexa, you have to go in, i'll take you to the office then i'll leave you, ok?" Her mum said whilst turning the engine off.
Alexa and her mum slowly walked into the school gates, girls were bundled in one big group, boys in another. Alexa kept her eyes on the ground and didn't look up.
As they reached the school, Alexa and her mum looked around. Inside was huge and there wasn't a lot of people in. They walked over to the office then were handed over to an old woman.
"Hello, you must be Alexa." The woman said as she shook her hand.
"Erm, yeah, Alexa." She said smiling nervously
"I'll leave you now." Her mum said as she kissed her goodbye
Alexa waved goodbye to her mum then smiled at the woman again.
"So, i'll take you to your class and get you sorted, hang your bag and coat over here." She said, pointing at an old room.
Alexa walked over to the small room and placed her bag and coat on an old hook. Spider webs hung from the door and the smell was awful.
"Alexa, this is your class." The woman pointed at an old door full of loud children.
Alexa walked in nervously and took an empty seat.
"You must be Alexa." A young lady said as she smiled.
Alexa nodded her head and looked around. The class was full and everyone was concentrating on their work.
"Everyone, I would like you to meet our new student Alexa." The teacher said loudly.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked over. Some of them were smiling and others showed no expression.
Alexa was given a little red book which had her name written on the cover. She started writing what was on the board.
After a while of being in the class. The bell rang for lunch. Everyone scattered out leaving Alexa slowly packing her stuff away.
